Mezinárodní souvislosti kanálu Dunaj - Odra - Labe

Zpráva analyzuje dopravní politiku v jednotlivých zemích (Německo, Polsko, Rakousko, Slovensko), kterých se výstavba kanálu týká, včetně popisu současné situace na jednotlivých tocích. Předkládá ucelenou analýzu dopadu výstavby kanálu z pohledu ochrany přírody a životního prostředí dotčených států. Jsou uvedeny mezinárodní závazky ČR a mezinárodní dohody vztahující se k případné výstavbě. Přílohy obsahují vládní, právní a strategické dokumenty dotčených zemí, které se vztahují k projektu výstavby vodní cesty Dunaj - Odra - Labe.

Zpřesnění dosavadních odhadů dopadů klimatické změny v sektorech vodního hospodářství‚ zemědělství a lesnictví a návrhy adaptačních opatření

Cílem úkolu je zpřesnit a aktualizovat scénáře vývoje klimatu na území ČR pro časové horizonty 2021-2050 a 2071-2100, upřesnit předpokládané dopady klimatické změny na sektory vodního hospodářství, zemědělství a lesnictví, navrhnout vhodná adaptační opatření a podpořit plnění Národního programu na zmírnění dopadů změny klimatu v České republice. Řešení je rozděleno do dílčích částí: DP 01 - Zpřesnění a aktualizace regionálních scénářů klimatické změny. Proběhly analýzy modelových výstupů modelu ALADIN CLIMATE/CZ a ENSEMBLES a jejich porovnání s pozorováními. DP 02 - Dopady změny klimatu na hydrologickou bilanci a vodní zdroje a návrhy adaptačních opatření v sektoru vodního hospodářství. Na základě dat (simulace modelu ALADIN-CLIMATE/CZ) bylo provedeno modelování vlivu změn klimatu na hydrologickou bilanci 250 povodí. Jsou diskutována adaptační opatření v oblasti vodního hospodářství. DP 03 - Dopady změny klimatu na extrémní hydrologické jevy - provedení simulace povodňových událostí, vyhodnocení průtokových simulací, dlouhodobých řad i povodňových událostí, analýza očekávaných změn povodňového režimu, charakteristiky současných a budoucích hydrologických režimů DP 04 - Dopady změny klimatu a návrhy adaptačních opatření v sektoru zemědělství. DP 05 - Dopady změny klimatu a návrhy adaptačních opatření v sektoru lesního hospodářství, DP 06 - Syntéza dopadů změny klimatu a vlivu adaptačních opatření v České republice a odhad ekonomických nákladů. V přílohách na CD-ROM jsou podrobné výsledky jednotlivých šetření.

Analysis of the water pricing structures in relation to objectives efficiency, sustainability and equity

Expenditures on water are the significant part of aggregate household spending and their height depends on a design of tariff for public water supply and sewage services among others. This diploma work describes different water pricing structures used in foreign and shows how each structure can be used to achieve objectives -- efficiency, sustainability and equity. The Czech system of price making is referred to as efficient but unfair because it doesn't take in consideration households with low incomes. Because of the continual rise in prices affected by fulfilment standard of the European Union are expected future problems with social acceptability of water prices. The goal of the work is to find possible modification of regulation which might solve this problem.

Water Resources Management: A Case Study of Water Shortage in Mexico City

In the two past decades, the topic of water resources has occurred more abundantly, the water has become the object of many research institutions. While in the 19th and 20th centuries of human progress took place under the sign of coal and oil, today is coming to the forefront the issue of availability of water resources and the related need for effective management which would assure an even distribution. This diploma thesis aims to highlight the problems of water resource management, offers options which would be theoretical focused and an example case study to show what the consequences may have a system which is implemented in isolation without consideration for other inter-sector policy. The context which involves on the current situation of water shortage in Mexico City is identified and analyzed.

Dialogue between ecologists and water managers - analyses

The dialogue between ecologists and water managers in the Czech Republic is analysed. The benefit of this dialogue reflects the need of harmonizing the usual tasks of water management with potential risks of global climate change and permanent threatening of biodiversity. The obstacles of the dialogue are of different character and are listed as follows: 1.Different area and time scale of responsibilities. 2. Difficult harmonization of technique and nature, 3. Different ethical concepts, dealing with the role and position of human in the nature, 4. Different understanding of water cycle 5. Insufitient quantification of some aspects of water cycle 6. Fear of autonomous decisions, resulting in need of very complex and uneffective law system 7. Psychological barriers in initialization of multidisciplinary dialog and teams. 8. Lobbying and corruption. As one of the possible tools to overcame some of the barriers, the concept of ecosystem services is presented.

As tourism is considered one of the developing tools of rural regions and sport fishing is considered one of ecotourism activities it could be suitable for sustainable use of rural regions. Supply of sport fishing activities in the Czech Republic is quite diversified but on the other hand there is only a little knowledge about anglers. The aim of this paper is to reveal (1) the importance of selected items of motivation and perception of conflicts and (2) relationships among these items. The Třeboň region has been chosen as the study area.

Short rotation coppices and water management of landscape

Short rotation coppices (SRCs, energy forest) became an accepted method to produce biomass for energy. The positive environmental effects of using biomass as a bio-fuel (e.g. reducing GHG, air pollution) were scientifically proved and these effects are now being used as the main argument in the discussion on whether the establishment of large plantations of SRC should be supported and subsidised. Much less is known about the other non-productive effects (functions) of an SRC on the cultural landscape and agro-ecosystems, which may have also positive effect on quality of the environment.
