Pešlová, Kateřina ; Jalovcová, Miroslava (advisor) ; Satrapová, Lenka (referee)
Title: Physical therapy procedures in patients following the operation of the anterior cruciate ligament Objectives: The main objective of this work is to determine the influence of the chosen method of reconstruction and subsequent physiotherapy on the final status of the patient. And also if the group physiotherapy is the ideal therapeutic approach. Methods: In quantitative research the numerical analysis of the data was performed. Comparison of individual groups was performed simply through finding the frequency distribution of individual characters. Evaluated were the basic sets A (patients operated on by Bone - Tendon - Bone method, BTB) and B (patients operated on by hamstring graft method, STG). Both sets were assessed using the input and the output kinesiological analysis. The resulting values of the variables in each category (individual examinations in the input and output kinesiological analysis) were compared with each other. The statistical significance of observed differences was tested using the x2 (chi square) test at the significance level of p < 0.05. Results: It was determined that the selected surgical method (BTB and STG) has an effect on certain parameters evaluated in the input rated kinesiological analysis. These parameters in the majority of examinations performed at the...

Point prevalence survey of healthcare-associated infections in the specialized surgical facility
CHMELAŘOVÁ, Šárka
My thesis is focused on the healthcare associated infections. This area is under considerable control in the developed countries and their health systems, whether in terms of medical, organizational, social, economic, or political. Epidemiology is the world's fastest growing field which knowledge can be applied very soon into everyday practice. The results of that have effect on the patients, whose visit in the hospital is becoming safer. It has also have effect on the healthcare that becomes a better and more professional. In our country, you can still meet the lack of awareness of professional and especially the current context, which accompanies this issue during the contact with the staff of health facilities. Nowadays, we are trying to implement the issue in our laws according to the requirements of the European Union. I try to outline this new European perspective on infections related to the healthcare in the theoretical part. We need to realize the main idea that these infections from healthcare facilities never disappear completely. In the interests of healthcare providers and their staff, it should be to get these infections under the control and to try to minimize the impact of these infections on the patients' health. The meaning of the term healthcare-associated infections or outdated nosocomial infections, and possible types of them, their most common cause and the process of their spread is explained at the outset of work. Afterwards I focused on explanation of the meaning of the prevalence survey as one of the methods of active surveillance. Thanks to the results of the Point Prevalence Survey, which was conducted in the European Union, Norway, Iceland, and Croatia in 2012, it was found that the European prevalence of healthcare associated infections is equal to 5.7%. These results are also commented in the thesis. This prevalence corresponds to every inflectional 18th patient hospitalized in the European acute care hospitals. The European Union Council Recommendation worked out the Infection Prevention and Control Programme in the healthcare facilities to reduce this prevalence. This programme with its details and requirements is described at the end of the theoretical part. In the next part I am aimed to the research, whose implementation is one of my goals. I conducted the Point Prevalence Survey according to the methodology, which was developed by European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC). I chose specialized surgical facility for my research. My control sample is consisted of departments that have the same focus as my facility. They are focused only on plastic and reconstructive surgery. The departments were selected from the all Czech hospitals, where the Point Prevalence Survey was conducted in 2012. I received the data from the previous survey thanks to the National Institute of Public Health. I intend to provide the thesis to the specialized surgical facility as a feedback to the research which was carried out in there. Not only for me, but also for the local staff, the benefits are to familiarize with the prevalence survey and to realize that the healthcare-associated infections may still be an actual issue.

Molecular phylogenetics and geometric morphometrics of aerophytic green algae of Coccomyxa/Pseudococcomyxa s.l. complex
Nemjová, Katarína ; Neustupa, Jiří (advisor) ; Hampl, Vladimír (referee)
This thesis deals with molecular diversity and shape variation of the traditionally delimited unicellular coccoid genera Coccomyxa SCHMIDLE and Pseudococcomyxa KORŠIKOV (Trebouxiophyceae, Viridiplantae). The complex of these traditional genera was found monophyletic position within the class Trebouxiophyceae on the basis of 18S rDNA sequences. Subdivision of this lineage into individual clades was based on 18S rDNA, ITS1 and ITS2 sequences. The results did not confirm delimitation of traditional genera. However, they suggest ecological differentiation of individual clades. The results of phylogenetic analyses were further supported by reconstructions of ITS2 secondary structures and analyses of the compensatory base changes (CBC) among individual clades. The mutual relationships among clades remained, however, partially unclear. Geometric morphometric variation of cell shapes illustrated pattern that was mostly not correlated with molecular data. This indicates high degree of evolutionary plasticity and possible unreliability of these morphological features in taxonomy of the group. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Optimization of tomographic station GE phoenix adjustment for plastic components including metal parts
Starý, Přemysl ; Petrilak, Michal (referee) ; Zikmund, Tomáš (advisor)
X-ray computed tomography is a tool mostly used in a medical diagnosis. A development of the technique and an improvement an in accuracy of tomographic systems enabled an utilization of the tomography in industrial applications. The tomography allows non-destructive analysis of inner structure. There is a negative influence of a reconstructed area if a low-absorption and high-absorption materials are scanned together. This influence makes analysis of the inner structure impossible. There are two options to eliminate these artifacts. We can use algorithms to reduce metal artifacts, or we can try to avoid them when performing the scan. This bachelor thesis focuses on an optimization of tomographic station adjustment for the plastic components including metal parts. The effect of an usage of X-ray filter or collimator and effect of a sample orientation on data quality will be observed. We use tools like contrast, noise and edge sharpness to evaluate data quality.

Physiotherapy for Stroke Patients in Chronic Stage Using the Methods of the Neurophysiological Basis
HANZALOVÁ, Jitka
The topic of the thesis is the physiotherapy based on neurophysiological methods for chronical stage stroke patients. The stroke is a lesion of a part of the brain tissue which develops suddenly from lack of blood perfusion in the area. The clinical manifestation of stroke can differ widely depending mainly on localization, extent, graveness and duration of the reduced blood perfusion or encephalorragia. This results in need of special rehabilitation programme made for each patient individually. The main principle of physiotherapy based on neurophysiological methods is prospering from plasticity of the neural tissue which is preserved in spite of severe injury of the brain. These methods influence control mechanisms in central nervous system by activation of various neural receptors. This therapy affects the patient complexly, it is not aimed at analytic muscle training. The purpose of this thesis was to prove and to evaluate the significance of the neurophysiological methods based physiotherapy for chronical stage stroke patients. The thesis consists of theoretical part and practical part. The theoretical part resumes information on the stroke, its risk factors, complications, consequences etc. The next part briefly describes some of the neurophysiological methods which can be used for the stroke rehabilitation. These particular methods were then utilized in the practical part during physiotherapy sessions with concrete patients. The theoretical part also informs about other means of complex rehabilitation which can be used for treating chronical stage stroke patients. The practical part records physiotherapeutical treatment with the patients. In the practical part of the thesis qualitative research method was used and following methodics: anamnesis, entering examination, special examination by Chedoke for hemiplegia scoring, the records of each therapy session and evaluating the effect of the therapy, which show that physiotherapy for stroke patients is meaningful in chronical stage as well and that the methods and concepts used are suitable. The thesis may serve as a source of information for healthcare professionals and other people taking part in care of the chronic stage stroke patient.
