The relationships between atmospheric circulation and surface climatic elements in Europe
Pokorná, Lucie ; Huth, Radan (advisor)
The relationships between atmospheric circulation and surface climatic elements in Europe Lucie Pokorná Abstract The variability of atmospheric circulation is the most important factor determining the changes in surface climatic elements. In this work, the relationship between atmospheric circulation and surface climatic elements like the temperature and the precipitation amounts and occurrence over the European region and some other climatic elements in central Europe is focused. The atmospheric circulation during the year is represented by modes of low-frequency circulation variability in sea level pressure (SLP) and 500-hPa heights (Z500) obtained by using statistical method "Principal component analysis". The Pearson correlation coefficient is used to describe the relationship between modes and climatic elements. Four circulation patterns in Z500 over Euro-Atlantic sector influence climate in Europe all over the year: the North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO) pattern, the East Atlantic (EA) pattern, and two Eurasian patterns (EU1, EU2). There were found patterns in SLP that strongly correlate with modes of the Z500 and influence surface climate similar way. Statistically important correlations of modes in Z500 and SLP with maximum, minimum and mean temperature, precipitation amounts and occurrence of...

Correlation Analysis of various Asset Classes
Urbanová, Sabína ; Brůna, Karel (advisor) ; Pour, Jiří (referee)
Bachelor thesis focuses on correlation analysis of various assets and construction of effective border and optimal portfolio. The thesis consists of four parts. First part describes main theories of portfolio selection and international investing. Second part is characterization of assets chosen for correlation analysis, concretely shares, bonds, gold, silver, crude oil, natural gas and property. In the third part I present correlation coefficients between assets. The last, forth, part is a practical application of correlation coefficients used for portfolio selection.
Statistical Analysis of Delayed Payments of Company FAVEX, s.r.o.
Zach, Jakub ; Chovanec, Martin (referee) ; Kropáč, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the analysis of delay in payment of invoices, amount of overdue invoices and relation between these two variables. The analysis is performed using statistical methods of one-dimensional and two-dimensional data set and time series. This bachelor thesis includes not only the used theoretical background, but also the use of theoretical knowledge in practice.
Localization of interesting points in power analysis
Vaněk, Stanislav ; Smékal, David (referee) ; Martinásek, Zdeněk (advisor)
Nowadays there are very high demands on security of cryptographic devices due to the increasing number of exploitation. Because of these reasons it is necesary to know the principles of security and their flaws. This thesis deals with the method of localization of interesting markers in current analysis. The aim of the thesis is to analyze this methods and their potential implementation in practise.
Microarray Data Analysis
Vogel, Ivan ; Smrž, Pavel (referee) ; Šilhavá, Jana (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to describe the DNA microarray technology. Several analytical algorithms are discussed. It describes closely the clustering methods, especially several hierarchical clustering modifications. It gives a summary of available commercial and uncommercial software for microarray analysis. The thesis describes own implementation design of hierarchical methods. At the end, results are compared with similar uncommercial software.
Texture Analysis of Ophthalmologic Images
Kaňka, Jan ; Odstrčilík, Jan (referee) ; Jan, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis is concerned with creating of software for textural analysis of retinal images by statistic method called co-occurrence matrices as possible alternative method to detection of lesion of retina by the glaucoma diseases. The Glaucoma diseases without well-timed diagnostics and consequential treatment leads to blindness. The retinal images captured by fundus camera are common, easily processable and modern devices are able to make images of 10 Mpix resolution and bigger, what specifies outputs of analytic software. Method of co-occurrence analysis is simple and effective statistic. But computing demandingness, showing up with growing objective quality, comming up as disadvantage.
Research on market orientation of our firms
Vlasová, Tereza ; Hela,, Rudolf (referee) ; Chalupský, Vladimír (advisor)
The thesis deals with the market orientation of high-tech companies based in the city of Brno. It measures the effects of market orientation on business performance, analyzes the relations between market orientation and business performance for chosen companies and evaluates logical structure of the questionnaire used for marketing research. Based on the results of the research the thesis contains solution proposals addressed to the given companies, points out their weaknesses and follows with the proposals for the structure of the questionnaire and its future application for researching market orientation of the companies.
Dependence Measures
Janda, Radek ; Fusek, Michal (referee) ; Michálek, Jaroslav (advisor)
This thesis focuses on characteristics of the dependence measures among random quantities, as well as its use in industry. The theoretical part focuses on examples of the characteristics used. Furthermore, the software Statistica is described here, for its possibilities of implementing such characteristics. On simple examples, the use of dependence measures is shown. In the practical part, the thesis focuses on statistical analysis of real industrial data, whilst implementing the theory mentioned above.
Utilization of inverse reliability analysis tools for probability based design of selected structural parameters
Lipowczan, Martin ; Novák, Drahomír (referee) ; Lehký, David (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the application of methodology and tools of inverse analysis in regards to probabilistic design of selected design parameters of structure. The first step was to get familiar with the probabilistic design and analysis, then understanding of the inverse analysis methodology itself which is based on artificial neural networks. After researching the topic we could get to the actual issue. To put the theory in practice easier examples were used at first. These were mathematical functions and one practical-based example, whereas the results were known in advance. This simplified a process of checking achieved values. Using software tools and especially DLNNET software allowed us to take on practical exercises. Used exercises are chosen from earlier undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Brno. The first of these was a design of reinforced concrete slab, where desired parameters were slab’s height and area of reinforcement. The second one was a design of a diagonal truss screw connection, aimed to size the screw diameter and its quantity.
