Internal ribosome entry site of the hepatitis C virus as a possible target for therapy
Roučová, Kristina ; Čáp, Michal (referee) ; Pospíšek, Martin (advisor)
Hepatitis C virus infects about 3 % of world's population. Progress in molecular biology and better knowledge of hepatitis C virus life cycle contribute to the development of specifically targeted antiviral therapies for HCV. This new treatment also targets the internal ribosome entry site (IRES), which is highly conserved and therefore an attractive target for intervention. In addition, inhibition of IRES function could disable the propagation of the virus early in the HCV life cycle. Novel therapeutics are aimed both at the HCV IRES structure and its nucleotide sequence. Small molecules and synthetic nucleic acids, e.g. antisense oligonucleotides and ribozymes, have been tested as potential therapeutic substances. In this paper particular attention is paid to small molecules interacting with HCV IRES.

Chaotic time-series prediction
Dědič, Martin ; Tichý, Vladimír (advisor) ; Smrčka, Pavel (referee)
This thesis focuses on possibility of chaotic (specially economic) time-series prediction. Chaotic time-series are unpredictable in long-term due to their high sensitivity on initial conditions. Nevertheless, their behavior should be more or less predictable in short-term. Goal of this thesis is to show, how much and if any prediction, is possible by non-linear prediction method, and try to reveal or to reject presence of chaotic behavior in them. Work is split into three chapters. Chapter One briefly introduces chosen important concepts and methods from this area. In addition, to describe some prediction methods, there are outlined which indicators and methods are possible to use in order to find possibilities and boundaries of this prediction. Chapter Two is focused on modifications of FracLab software, which is used for create this prediction. Last chapter is experimental. Besides the description of examined time-series and methods, it includes discussion of results.

The first choice's medicine are topic corticosteroids. Other posibility of choice are immunomodulators, pimecrolimus and tacrolimus. Very important is also using of emolients in all stadiums of the illness. The great hope for the therapy of AD represents inhibitors of phosphodiesterase, antagonists of leukotriene, interferon-γ, intravenous immunoglobulin and monoclonal antibodies.

Kryska, David ; Kudrna, Jan (referee) ; Jirásková, Věra (advisor)
The aim of the thesis is to analyse the status of the President of the Republic in Polish Constitutional System. The reason for this research is that although this subject has already been described by political scientists, it has not been fully explored in the field of Theory of Constitutional Law. The institution of the President of the Republic was re-established in 1989 in the course of systemic reforms, therefore the first part of this study describes historical background of this institution. The following parts outline the mode of election, constitutional features of office and constitutional liability of the President of the Republic. The President of the Republic is elected directly by the people and according to the Constitution he is the executive authority and performs three basic functions: 1) representation of the Republic of Poland in both international and home relations and guaranteeing the continuity of state authority (traditional function of Head of State), 2) supervision of the observance of the constitution, 3) protection of the sovereignty and security of the state as well as inviolability and integrity of its territory. Durgāpūjā in Calcutta: the poetics and politics of a ritual
Hříbek, Martin ; Preinhaelterová, Hana (advisor) ; Vrhel, František (referee) ; Zbavitel, Dušan (referee)
This thesis deals with poetics and politics of the annual worship of goddess Durga in Calcutta, India, and though it is not an ethnography as a genre, it is largely based on fieldwork. In the first chapter of this thesis I reflect on the process of my partial enculturation in Bengal, on the process of understanding that cultural milieu as well as on the nature of understanding the Other in general. The second chapter deals with the concept of ritual. It summarises current state of discussion in the field and finally outlines Alfred Gell' s concepts of secondary agency, technology of enchantment, distributed personhood and extended mind in order to examine the external and internal strategies of animation of images of deities. The third chapter is a short introduction into the goddess worship tradition in India with focus on mythological narratives of Devi -Ma ha tmya and portrayal of Durga pu ja in Bengali rendition of Ra ma ya a. The fourth chapter reverts to my first fieldwork on Durga pu ja and interprets the intersection of Durga pu ja and the " war on terror" with Marc Agué' s concept of extended ritual technique. The fifth chapter is an elaborate survey of plant symbolism in Durga pu ja with plenty of comparative material. Its aim is to explore the ritual symbols within the Durga pu ja complex at the...

Stručně lze připomenout, že jde o právní předpis poznamenaný dobou svého vzniku, ovlivněný ideologií vítězství socialismu v zemi, popřením duality práva soukromého a veřejného a představou o postupném odumírání práva vůbec.
