Road traffic and its environmental impact

The thesis aims to describe main relationships between road traffic and its environmental impact. It has to explain general concept, definition of basic negatives and disadvantages of the road traffic environmental influence and ways how to face up to them. One of fundamental components of the thesis is represented by an chapter about road traffic's external costs and possible approaches of their elimination. It pushes ahead the internalizing externalities. Analytic part of the thesis refers to one concrete traffic fabric situated in the centre of medium-sized city with a view to changes of environment characteristics of the whole territory and to changes of traffic situation in the city. The fabric is monitored in the course of all phases -- from first suggestions for the final commissioning.

Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of Mixed Municipal Waste Collected in Frýdek-Místek

Diploma graduation thesis deals with analytical tool called Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). Paper explains this analytic tool and focuses on its possible application in municipal decision-making process. Thesis carries out specific application of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) targeted towards disposal of mixed municipal waste collected from Frýdek-Místek city. Municipal waste management issues are mentioned in relation with Frýdek-Místek and year 2007. The aim is to analyze nowadays landfilling of mixed municipal waste done in Frýdek-Místek and to examine the possibility of incineration of mixed municipal waste in order to reach minimal total environmental impacts. The paper offers improvement suggestions based on extensive LCA study.

Suggestion of change in production process of castings with focus on increase of productivity of labour, quality and costs saving

This diploma work is focused on evaluation of opportunities to improvement and modernization of production process of castings in company ŽĎAS a.s. As base are in theoretical part informations about business process management and change management (Deming's improvement cycle, theory of constraints, reengeneering, concept of quality management). Practical part analyses concrete opportunity to modernization of molding section and compares it with technology which is now used.

Valuation of Mlekarna Kunin a.s.

The main objective of this thesis is to find a value of business, specifically of Mlekarna Kunin a.s., using method DCF APV. The value is set as at 1.1.2009. The theoretic part contains basic description of framework for business valutiaon: strategy analysis, financial analysis, valuation etc. In addition to that this part also contains description of some valuation methods, calculation of costs of equity and costs of debt. These pieces of information are subsequently used in the application part to set the value of Mlekarna Kunin a.s. using method DCF APV as at 1.1.2009. Costs of equity are calculated with CAPM model. 3M PRIBOR rate was used to calculate costs of debt.

Framework for teaching Database Management Systems on VŠE Praha

This thesis focuses on design and subsequent realization of e-learning support for the database management systems course. The first step is definition of the e-learning itself as well as other related concepts. Following part analyzes current status of teaching and evaluating students' knowledge and other possible ways to do so without changing the basic course frame defined by the given syllabus. A list of requirements on the software framework is made on basis of this analysis. These requirements are technical (demanded functionality) and economical (costs of installation and maintenance). The most suitable e-learning system is chosen according to these requirements. The chosen system unfortunately does not fulfill all specified requirements and software witch does, is not available. In this case the following step is design and realization of such software. At first are all requirements specified in detail. The software solution is designed as three independently usable applications: Exercise client, Test client and Administrator. Software is implemented in C# programming language. Whole process of implementation is divided into three increments witch corresponds with projected applications. Every increment adds new functionality to existing solution and the output of every increment is fully usable component.

Financial structure of a logistic and transfer company

The content of this bachelor thesis is represented by a financial structure of a specific firm. This firm is C.S. CARGO Inc., which belongs to the biggest truck transporters in the Czech republic. A part of this thesis is devoted to optimalising of the capital structure of a firm. Analytical part of the bachelor thesis starts with introducing of the starting financial structure of the analysed firm and this capital structure is used for calculating of weighted avarage cost of capital. Furthermore this thesis contains an analysis of an influence which would have IPO (at different size) on the capital structure of the firm concerning WACC.

Golf - is it posh or for all?

Playing golf became a part of lifestyle of new dominant social and cultural groups but thanks to democratization tendencies and use as a business tool it opens up for more wide range of Czech society. Simultaneously the sporty heritors of golf tradition from the past before November 1989 last till today creating a core of Czech golfers space and teach newcomers the secrets of golf rules and etiquette. There are various groups in Czech golf space which differ from each other in the spirit of game, costs, but also in form of capital acquired. The first group is the mentioned one with long golf heredity. These players are holders of ideas in sense of golf rules, etiquette and skills. It was mainly social capital witch they obtained in golf space before November 1989 in their connections to golf community, nowadays it is according to their skills and traditional club membership symbolic capital. Together with this group it was a then power and wealth elite who started golf playing before November 1989. What its members drew from this activity was a symbolic capital when using golf playing as a demonstration of their wealth while nowadays it is mainly social capital which they can use. Modelling of Economic Efficiency of Transport Infrastructure Projects

This diploma thesis deals with a cost-benefit analysis of investments in road infrastructure. The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part includes a description of the cost-benefit analysis procedure and a deeper description of evaluating investments in road and highway constructions. The practical part deals with the specific investment for the construction of highway. This involves applying information from the theoretical part to this specific investment and evaluating the economic efficiency, including risk analysis. The main indicator of the economic efficiency is the net present value.

Dept collection practices in The Czech Republic

The thesis deals with practical issues associated with debt recovery in the Czech Republic. Part I focuses on the theoretical background of claims. It identifies the origin, securing recovery, modification and termination of claims as well as an analysis of the most frequent methods used in practice in compliance with the effective legislation. The theoretical issues stated above are applied in the analysis of claims of a specific trading company, here shown under a fictional name, ABC, s.r.o., the objective of which is to specify the advantages and drawbacks of claim administration and the debt recovery process based on the financial figures of the company in the period from 2010 to 2015. The analysis is focused on the development of selected indices in the monitored period as well as the differences which exist between claims from different types of company business. Measures to reduce outstanding overdue debts are proposed upon the established results, the implementation of which should help improve the total financial standing of the stated company.

Logistics management of inventory

This diploma thesis deals with the issue of a logistic stock management in the company STOLFIG s.r.o. (Ltd.) that focuses mainly on the construction and production of metal products. The theoretical part deals with the basic terminology such as logistics, its management and targets. Nevertheless, most of the theoretical part is focused on the stock, specifically on its characteristics, structuring, management and also risks and costs connected with it. At the beginning of the practical part, the company is introduced with the focus on the stock characteristics and its management system. The next part analyses the present stock management, particularly the analysis of costs, turnover and liquidity, and an ABC analysis. Attention is also paid to the signal level of the stock, the process of selecting suppliers, an unnecessary stock and a warehousing system. Every part is not only analysed but it is also evaluated whether the present situation is satisfactory or not. The third part is based on the given analysis and it contains specific recommendations for improvement, namely in the field of the minimum stock determination, evaluation criteria for supplier selection, management with material with no turnover, and also recommendation for changes within the warehouse. The final part is a clear summary of the whole thesis.
