Horák, David ; Nekardová, Olga (advisor) ; Malíková, Hana (referee)
Sumava National Park is a vast area in the southwestern part of the Czech Republic, adjacented to the border with Germany and Austria. Due to its relief, the area is easily accessible and therefore very appealing for tourists of all ages and various physical conditions. The first part of the thesis deals with the characteristics of the most practiced activities in the Sumava National Park. In the second part I deal with the concept of sustainable tourism development in the context of monitoring tourist traffic, direct damage to the environment due to tourist traffic, monitoring methods of erosion, degradation of land cover and preferences of visitors to the National Park Sumava. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate methods of monitoring tourism on the basis of the available literature. Using one of the monitoring methods, questionnaire survey, I evaluate preferences of visitors of the National Park Sumava in the areas of activity and the duration and frequency of their visits. The result of the thesis represents a comprehensive view of the concept of sustainable tourism development and its monitoring.

Evaluation of the European Cohesion Policy in Selected Region
Šabková, Michala ; Tomšík, Karel (advisor) ; Pavel, Pavel (referee)
The thesis titled Evaluation of the European Cohesion Policy in Selected Region deals with the structural period of 2007-2013 in the Pilsen and South regions. The aim of the present thesis is to carry out an ex-post evaluation of the Regional Operational Programme NUTS II Southwest and, based on these findings, to assess what impact the cohesion policy had on this region. The theoretical part deals with the historical context of the European Union and the beginnings of regional policy. It then defines the basic principles, objectives, and fundamentals of the cohesion policy in the years 2007-2013. The practical part contains situational analysis of the Southwest region and analysis of Implementation Document ROP NUTS II Southwest, in connection with which I will describe the priority axes and areas of programme support. Next part is the ex-post evaluation of ROP NUTS II Southwest, which will be carried out through four indicators defined by me. In the conclusion, I will evaluate the impact of cohesion policy in the Southwest region and its influence.

European pilgrim place in the view of 21st century
Girgelová, Jana ; Dvořáková, Michaela (referee) ; Dvořáková, Markéta (advisor)
The peregrination, the pilgrimage and the visiting of pilgrim places have always belonged to the human lives inherently. The roots of Christian pilgrim places following Jewish tradition may be probably found in Jerusalem. Currently the modern man has a need to find these places and address to them not only in pressure. This bachelor thesis describes key moments concerning the pilgrim places and their transformations in the history. The bachelor thesis is focused on the one of the most visited European pilgrim places which is situated in France - Lourdes. We include it in cultural heritage and we understand it as a part of the European identity. This place is not like other cathedrals and churches which we admire as the monuments. This place can address us spiritually. Lourdes is one of the Marian pilgrim places and it is famous thanks to Bernadette Soubirous who repeatedly had apparitions of Our Lady in 1858. The bachelor thesis also tries to represent the importance of the pilgrim places for the medieval and for the modern man and to describe their attitudes to them or how their approach has changed.

Maastricht Criteria and Their Role in Common Monetary Policy of the European Union
Fleischmannová, Hana ; Boháčková, Ivana (advisor) ; Radek, Radek (referee)
This thesis deals with the monetary union development issues and their role in the process of European Union integration. Following the Maastricht convergence criteria (price stability, foreign exchange rate stability, stability of long-term interest rates, and condition of public finance) is essential for the accession to the European Monetary Union (EMU). The sense of Maastricht criteria is to evaluate the level of economic convergence. The content of the thesis focuses both on the evaluation of the candidates ability to fulfill the Maastricht criteria and to integrate into the monetary regime of EMU, and fulfilment of the criteria by current members of EU. Next part of the thesis follows up the origin and development of a theory of optimum currency area (OCA), which assesses the suitability of using common currency within EMU by means of its criteria. In conclusion of the thesis benefits and expenses of the common currency are compared, and the future development of EMU is mentioned.

Overview Copulation Strategies of European Butterflies
Baráková, Kristýna ; Vrabec, Vladimír (advisor) ; Bubová, Terezie (referee)
Daily butterflies are a very varied and diverse group of the animal kingdom. They are insects with complete metamorphosis and a complex life cycle. Different stages of the development cycle are well known and studied. However, when it comes to the reproduction biology of daily butterflies, there are still a lot of question marks. This is why we decided to compile available information on reproduction strategies of European daily butterflies. This information was gathered by the means of strategically chosen keywords in scientific databases Web of Science (WOS), Scopus and Google Scholar. Based on these sources I compiled general information on reproduction behaviour of butterflies related to the complex processes before copulation, more concretely the mating and selection behaviour of daily butterflies. Consequently I describe concretely the copulation process, where I concentrate mainly on data on the progression of copulation, i.e. duration, minimum age or possible repeated copulation. I also explain general terms connected to copulation, such as paternity or protandry. The following part of the thesis concentrates specifically on copulation strategies of European daily butterflies. For the majority of butterflies I gathered data on mating strategies before copulation, specifically on how males search for females. Furthermore, for som e butterflies I add comprehensive data on duration of copulation, minimum age for copulation or possible repeated copulation. However, the gathered data do not provide sufficient information on the stated topic. It was therefore impossible to realize a statistical evaluation, which was supposed to lead to a recount against the total number of European butterflies. The hypothesis, namely that the vast majority of daily butterflies does not show promiscuous behaviour and copulates only once, has not been affirmed, neither disproven. Scientific publications only scarcely provided concrete information on promiscuous behaviour of daily butterflies. A research on this behaviour would require a more thorough examination. But it would enable us to organize accessible data on butterflies in the Czech Republic.

The issue of public procurement financed by means of subsidies provided by the European Union
Štípek, Michal ; Civínová, Denisa (advisor) ; Klára, Klára (referee)
The thesis deals with the issue of public procurement financed by means of subsidies provided by the European Union. Its theoretical part concerns with public procurement co-financed from EU budget. This first part of my thesis focuses generally on explanation of basis terms concerning public procurement. Moreover, it outlines our national and European legislation and methods interfering in the process of public procurement co-financed from the EU budget. The thesis presents oversight bodies emphasizing the function of the Audit Authority. It pays attention to structural funds during the 2007-2013 programming period focusing on the Regional Operational Programme (ROP) North-West. The practical part concentrates on analysis and records of the most frequent mistakes in public procurement within the ROP North-West by means of analysing a sample of cases identified by the Audit Authority. The thesis uses the outputs in the form of a summary of most frequent mistakes in public procurement of the selected operational programme as the foundation for formulation of measures and suggestions for elimination of mistakes in public procurement and for recommendations on amelioration and efficiency improvement of the public procurement system.

Algae and extreme environments - ecology and physiology
Elster, Josef
All photoautotrophic prokaryotes have evolved from the group Eubacteria. From fossil remains in the form of stromatolites, it has been possible to date the first prokaryotic oxyphototrophic algae (Cyanobacteria) back to almost 3,450 million years. Evolution of Eukaryotic Algae did not occur until about 700-800 million years ago. The endosymbiotic hypothesis is the most accepted theory for the origin of eukaryotic organells. Oxyphototrophic microorganisms (cyanobacteria and algae) are ubiquitous and, because of their evolutionary antiquity, are widely adapted to all the extremes related with the many changes in geological time. During the last ten years special attention has been given to study of cyanobacteria and algae in environment with extreme environment. The methodology has been steadily developing for biological-taxonomical and ecological-physiological studies.
