Distribution and functions of the reflexive morpheme sě in Old Czech
Pergler, Jiří ; Friedová, Mirjam (advisor) ; Lehečková, Eva (referee)
The thesis deals with the functions of the reflexive form sě in Old Czech. In Chapter 2, existing literature about the Old Czech sě is reviewed, in Chapter 3, I describe the method of my research, comment on the data used for the analysis and present the functions of sě that have been identified. In Chapters 4, 5 and 6 (the key part of the thesis), I describe three functions of the reflexive form, i.e., three types of constructions containing the form sě: accusative form of the reflexive pronoun, spontaneity and agent demotion. I focus on the most important syntactic and semantic characteristics of the constructions, then I analyse especially the animacy of the syntactic subject and the verbal aspect; both these criteria proved to be relevant for the constructions in question. The functions I describe are prototypes, therefore they have no clear boundaries. Hence, I also point out the ambiguous cases whose classification is not clear. In Chapter 7, I compare and contrast the three functions and show the most important differences between the use of the reflexive form in Old Czech and in Modern Czech.
Semantical Types of Adnominal Genitive in the Selected Texts From the Period of 2010 to 2019 in the Journal Czech Language and Literature
Ledvina, Libor ; Janečka, Martin (advisor) ; Sojka, Pavel (referee)
This diploma thesis - in its theoretical part - deals with the position of adnominal genitive in contemporary Czech language, its semantics and syntax. First, it defines this case (its semantical and syntactical structure in contemporary Czech) and after that it describes- with the theoretical linguistic background - the semantical types of adnominal genitive in Czech. The semantical types of adnominal genitive then serve as a criterion for determining specific cases in the texts of the Czech language and Literature Journal. This diploma thesis is focused on the texts published between 2010-2019.
CodAL Language Editor in Eclipse Framework
Hynek, Jiří ; Dolíhal, Luděk (referee) ; Přikryl, Zdeněk (advisor)
The Master thesis is focused on creation of an editor of CodAL language for the development toolkit of the project Lissom which is based on Eclipse framework. The goal of this thesis is to analyze the problem of editor creation and the features in existing editors which add some value to their usability. The outline of parser creation and subsequent code analysis of the source codes written into the editor is described in the theoretical part. It also explains the syntax and semantic aspects of the CodAL language. In the practical part the new CodAL language editor is designed and developed. The new CodAL language editor integrated into the development toolkit of the project Lissom is the final outcome of this thesis.

Verbal Valency in a Cross-Linguistic Perspective
Šindlerová, Jana ; Lopatková, Markéta (advisor) ; Petkevič, Vladimír (referee) ; Malá, Markéta (referee)
Verbal Valency in a Cross-Linguistic Perspective Jana Šindlerová Abstract In the thesis, we look upon differences in argument structure of verbs considering the Czech language and the English language. In the first part, we describe the process of building the CzEngVallex lexicon. In the second part, based on the aligned data of the Prague Czech-English Dependency Treebank, we compare the valencies of verbal translation equivalents and comment of their differences. We classify the differences according to their underlying causes. The causes can be based in the linguistic structure of the languages, they can include translatological reasons, or they can be grounded in the character of the descriptive linguistic theory used.
City information model based on a 3D data
Dolník, Michal ; Černý, Martin (referee) ; Volařík, Tomáš (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with creation of data-oriented 3D city model. The aim is to show potential of 3D data in the field of 3D city models and to develop a methodology of conversion of 3D-data with no information to data oriented 3D city model. For this purpose has been chosen format CityGML, which is well-known in the field of 3D city models. This format allows us to store semantical, topological and visual information besides geometry. In terms of concept, thesis is divided into two parts. First part is focused on theory, where are mentioned 3D supported formats. Further I deal with categories of city models according to its usage in praxis and theory about structure of CityGML and its advantages. In second part, I deal with the process of data conversion and its processing. I used geometric data of city parts Líšeň and Nový Lískovec and energy data of some blocks of flats. In the end of thesis, I summarize all the results, possible usage and development of the model.
Semantic Analysis of Selected Czech Key Words. Theory of Natural Semantic Metalanguage Applied to Czech
Pavlásková, Marie ; Císařovská, Lily (advisor) ; Ivan, Michal (referee)
Diploma thesis, which is based on Anna Wierzbicka's natural semantic metalanguage theory, discusses certain specific features of Czech language worldview and compares them with specific features of English language worldview. This intercultural comparison is made possible by the cultural neutrality of the natural semantic metalanguage which serves as a language in which explications of analyzed words are formulated and compared to their English counterparts. Analyses of Czech keywords are based mainly on the use of dictionaries (explanatory and etymological dictionaries and dictionaries of phrases and idioms) and Czech corpora. The analysis aims to show differences between Czech and English cultural norms and values as reflected in different semantic structures of analyzed concepts, which presumably indicate deeper differences in perceiving and interpreting reality in both languages.
