Interactive software tools for teaching signal and image processing
Had, Pavel ; Rajmic, Pavel (referee) ; Mangová, Marie (advisor)
This thesis deals with the development of interactive applets for educational purposes. There are four applets: linear image combinations, least squares method and linear regression, discrete linear convolution in 2D, and interpolation in 1D. Each part of this thesis consists of a theoretical analysis of a given problem and its implementation in JavaScript. Specific applets then illustrate the problem so that it can be easily understood.
Image interpolation
Hejdová, Martina ; Odstrčilík, Jan (referee) ; Kolář, Radim (advisor)
In this thesis, basics, attributes and usage of image interpolation are described. Multiple methods of interpolation are described in detail. Theoretical knowledge of interpolation are practicaly demonstrated in Matlab environment on selected methods of interpolation including my own implementation of quadratic and linear interpolation. Tests were run on different types of images, mostly on biomedicine ones. Single interpolations are also applied on histogram. Results are compered to each other and figure to the graphs.
Parallel Programming in Rust Language
Šlampa, Ondřej ; Bařina, David (referee) ; Kobrtek, Jozef (advisor)
Topic of this thesis is parallelization in Rust. Aim of this thesis is to compare performance and usability of Rust language with already used alternative - OpenMP. Computation of n-dimensional comvolution was used for benchmark. In conclusion there is evaluation of results and suggestions for their future use.
Interactive software tools for teaching signal processing
Pacas, Ondrej ; Rajmic, Pavel (referee) ; Mangová, Marie (advisor)
This thesis deals with creation of four interactive applications for educational purposes in the field of digital signal processing. The goal of this work is to create four applications which will visually interpretate each of the methods of signal processing. This involves applications for linear regression and least squares method, interpolation and signal reconstruction from its samples, discrete linear convolution and discrete cross-correlation. Applications are created using JavaScript programming language.
Implementation of edge detector using wavelet transform
Pálka, Zbyněk ; Rášo, Ondřej (referee) ; Růčka, Lukáš (advisor)
This thesis is focused on edge detection in image. In theoretical part are contained genarally used methods of edge detection using first and second-order derivate and both of mentioned methods are described here. Further it’s deiscribed here continuous, descrete and two dimensional descrete wavelet transform and process of noise removing in image by descrete wavelet transform. In next part are analysed two methods of edge detection using wavelet transform and their possible realizations in program Matlab. In practical part of thesis is in detail described algorithm of program on edge detection using wavelet transform and it‘s described here individual functions of program. The main content of practical part are visual results of wavelet edge detector and their comparison with Canny, Prewitt and Sobel edge detector.
Numerical Methods of Image Processing for Object Surface Reconstruction by Means of Confocal Microscope
Adámková, Barbora ; Martišek, Dalibor (referee) ; Štarha, Pavel (advisor)
The Diploma thesis deals with object surface reconstruction by means of confocal microscope. It includes part of mathematical theory which is associated with this problem. The mathematical algorithm of the object surface reconstruction is illustrated. This Diploma thesis result is the application development for this reconstruction. The thesis also include the results of specific object.
Recognition of Poses and Gestures
Jiřík, Leoš ; Hradiš, Michal (referee) ; Zemčík, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis inquires the existing methods on the field of image recognition with regards to gesture recognition. Some methods have been chosen for deeper study and these are to be discussed later on. The second part goes in for the concenpt of an algorithm that would be able of robust gesture recognition based on data acquired within the AMI and M4 projects. A new ways to achieve precise information on participants position are suggested along with dynamic data processing approaches toward recognition. As an alternative, recognition using Gaussian Mixture Models and periodicity analysis are brought in. The gesture class in focus are speech supporting gestures. The last part demonstrates the results and discusses future work.
3D Volume Rendering Data Visualization
Varga, Marek ; Herout, Adam (referee) ; Kršek, Přemysl (advisor)
This thesis deals with using theoretical knowledge of computer graphic and vector mathematics for volume data construction and vizualization. This work provides more methods volume data vizualization and optimization. Algorithms and mathematical principles are necessary for data obtaining, correct interpretation, filtration and error correction and vizualization. This work describes possibilities of method voxel splatting. Model which implements this method is a part of this work and it contains some techniques for drawing process which include skipping empty sections and effective addressing of properties of volume data. System also provides interactive rendering and volume data manipulation.
Implementations of algorithms for signal filtering in the field programmable gate array
Jíša, Pavel ; Macho, Tomáš (referee) ; Valach, Soběslav (advisor)
This diploma thesis is engaged in implementations of algorithms for signal filtering in the field programmable gate array utilising the C and ImpulseC programming language. It is focused on one-dimensional FIR and IIR filters and also two-dimensional such as convolution and Sobel's operator. Moreover, evaluations of these filter algorithms are included.
Acceleration of 3D Image Processing Using GPU
Jochlík, Jakub ; Klepárník, Petr (referee) ; Španěl, Michal (advisor)
This thesis proposes a solution for acceleration of large 3D image data filtering  by using the compute power of graphic cards. This solution uses OpenCL platform to dedicate all necessary computation onto graphical core of the graphic card and furthermore optimize this process using on-board local memory. Design and implementation of the mentioned approach is mainly focused on Sobel Operator.
