Heating of the School Building
Holková, Soňa ; Wierzbická, Helena (referee) ; Vendlová, Lucie (advisor)
The subject of this bachelor's dissertation is heating of the Primary and the Kindergarten school's buildings. The main aim is to make a design of the heating system and the hot water preparation. The source of the heat is the hot-water pipe, which the buildings are connected trough the heating coil to.
Racing vehicle engine oil cooler
Lang, Filip ; Guzej, Michal (referee) ; Bartuli, Erik (advisor)
This disertation is about designing an oil cooler for racing car made of polymer hollow fibers. The oil cooler was made on an X-Winder device, which is not originally designed for production of heat exchangers, which was quite complicated to produce these exchangers. Therefore, programs initiating the movement of the winding device based on the parameters entered by the user were created within the work. The manufactured cooler was compared with used oil cooler from the race car in pursuance of measured parameters in the experimental chamber.
Steam Turbine for Biomass Power Plant
Ingr, Adam ; Fiedler, Jan (referee) ; Kracík, Petr (advisor)
This master‘s thesis deals with thermodynamic calculation of condensing steam turbine with controlled extraction point for heat exchanger, into biomass power plant block. Rated output of steam turbine is 6.5 MW and rated output of heat exchanger is 4.5 MW. At the beginning of the thesis is explained the heat scheme and the effect of heat regeneration on the design of turbine. Attention was also paid to the heat equation of individual thermal diagram devices and the calculation of the steam mass flow rate. The next part is focused on thermodynamic calculation of the turbine, followed by mechanical stress calculations. The calculation is divided into preliminary design and detailed calculation. At the end, the performance analysis of the designed turbine is made.
Analysis of heat exchanger
Nosek, Miroslav ; Kilkovský, Bohuslav (referee) ; Jegla, Zdeněk (advisor)
The diploma thesis is focusing on research of possible damage mechanism of U-tubes in a heat exchanger placed within a gas waste incinerator unit in a factory dealing with chemicals manufacturing. In the first phase of the research, in which a thermo – hydraulic calculation is being made, a specialized software tool HTRI Xchanger Suite® v6.00 is used. Using the software it is possible to simulate certain operational conditions in which the heat exchanger operates. The output from the first phase of the solution is to obtain a set of temperatures of the tube material throughout the length of the tubes. These data are consequently used in the second phase of the analysis. The second phase of the analysis is dealing with thermal lenght dilatation differences assessment between tubes in the tube bundle as a predected reason of oversize tension formed in tube material and damage following afterwards. Conclusions of the calculation made in the second phase of the analysis are then checked by calculation via ANSYS Workbench 11.
CIP station and its integration into the brewery cold block
Venclů, Jan ; Jegla, Zdeněk (referee) ; Kilkovský, Bohuslav (advisor)
The main subjekt of this master’s thesis is the description of the processes of production of beer in a cold block, describing the theory of sanitation and theory of CIP cleaning station. The second part of this work is practical proposal of CIP cleaning station, selecting anappropriate heat exchanger, its design and economic evaluation of the proposed CIP station.
Regeneration of heat and water from the exhaust air stream
Jankůj, Tomáš ; Baláš, Marek (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis deals with the process of wood drying. It is a method of removing excess water from wood. Drying can be divided into two basic types. The first type is natural drying. The material is dried without the presence of foreign energy source. This type depends only on climatic conditions and the amount of sunlight. Another type is artificial drying, where is pre-sent a foreign energy source, such as a biomass boiler. The second type is significantly faster than the first. The second type of drying uses a device called a wood dryer. There are a lot of types of wood dryers, the most widely used are kiln dryer, belt dryer, rotary drum dryer. In these devices, the thermal energy is transferred to the drying materials by the flowing warm drying medium (convection). The heat is transferred to the drying medium in a heat exchan-ger. Because the drying process is very energy demanding, it is appropriate to reduced the required energy. This can be done by regenerating heat and water. In the heat exchanger, part of the heat can be gained from the flowing exhaust medium. If a condensation of evaporated water in the exchanger occurs, the latent heat of the water is released. The gained heat is used to preheat the drying medium and thereby to reduce the required energy.
Cooler for heat pump inverter
Trepka, Petr ; Konečný, Tomáš (referee) ; Hejčík, Jiří (advisor)
Thesis in the introductory section describes the theory of heat pumps, the principle of their functions, including components used in pumps. The thesis includes a description of the air-water heat pump indoor unit, which also includes a frequency converter. Electronic frequency converter produces waste heat that must be cooled. The most extensive part of the work therefore deals with the computational model of heat transfer in the exchanger. The output is a map of all heat pump operating points with checking cooling efficiency of the inverter. In the final part are recommended modifications of the cooler design.
Software comparison for design and control of pressure vessels
Staňková, Lucie ; Pernica, Marek (referee) ; Lošák, Pavel (advisor)
The main goal of this thesis is to compare different software for pressure vessels design and control. This comparison is done by designing a given pressure vessel, specifically a heat exchanger. The heat exchanger is designed in software Sant’Ambrogio, Visual Vessel Design and PV Elite. Advantages and disadvantages of used software are discussed. Thesis evaluates various aspects of design, particularly graphic interfaces, user-friendliness, clarity and calculated results. The results for the cylindrical shell and the torispherical end of each software are analysed and compared to own calculations based on ČSN EN 13445 design code. Differences among results are explained. Thesis also contains the literature search report of pressure vessels design.
Analysis of heat exchanger troubles
Bartošek, Nikola ; Jegla, Zdeněk (referee) ; Kilkovský, Bohuslav (advisor)
The master thesis is focused on analysis of specific cross-flow in-line tube bundle heat exchanger which deals with significant operational problems. Thermal, hydraulic and vibration calculation analysis of selected parts of the heat exchanger is performed based on CFD flow distribution results. Calculation is performed by using Maple software. Thermal and hydraulic calculations are compared with results obtained by commercial software HTRI.
