The dissertation thesis describes and analyses military service of Czechoslovak women in British army namely in ATS (Auxiliary Territorial Service) and WAAF (Women's Auxiliary Air Force) units. First Czechoslovak women joined British armed forces in mid 1941 and served directly on the British soil in the Army and Airforce bases. Other Czechoslovak women joined ATS and WAAF in the Middle East campaing since 1943. During the WWII more than two hundreds Czechoslovak citizens served in the auxillary units. The text further deals with the approach of the Czechoslovak exile institutions e.g. National Defence ministry, towards Czechoslovak women serving in the foreign army. One of the main topics is finding answer to question why Czechoslovakian women could serve only in the army of the allied state and if there were ever thoughts or plans for creation of similar unit directly with Czechoslovak foreign units. Speciální výcvik psů pro vyhledávání narkotik a porovnání využitelnosti různých plemen psů v praxi
TUČKOVÁ, Hana
This bachelor thesis deals with the special drug detection dogs training and compares various dog breeds. According to the current conditions of Czech and foreign criminalistic odorology this criminalistic technique which uses olfaction of specially trained detection dogs is classified amongst the modern techniques today. The theoretical part describes the origin and the development of the domestic dog, pursued dog breeds, criminalistic odorology, special detection dogs training, dog's sense of smell from the anatomical and physiological point of view, dog handler's job, finding and distinguishing of various odors and general knowledge of odor and scent trails. The practical part evaluates which of the pursued dog breeds is the most effective, the most used and the most successful one in practice. The success rate of dogs according to their age, sex and the active period of service was also found out in the practical part. It was evaluated to what extend does the dogs' training frequency affect the success rate and which method of narcotics detection is preferred. All the data were collected by means of a questionnaire study. It was found out that the most used dog breed for narcotics detection is the German Shepherd, the second most used breed is Belgian Malinois. Of all pursued dogs (74) there were 34 German Shepherds whose success rate was 90,9 % and 23 Belgian Malinois whose success rate was 72, 99 %. It was found out that in 75 % the dogs are better in detecting plant-based drugs such as marijuana/hashish, cocaine, opium, some kinds of poppy seeds, tobacco, nicotine etc. The recommended dog gender is a male dog, the best performance can be expected with 5-6 years old dogs (3-4 years of active service). If the dogs are expected to carry out excellent performances, the training frequency must be adjusted to 7 times a week and the dog must be trained only in one discipline, in this case it is the narcotics detection.
Reference meaning of words in human-dog communication
Stemmerová, Lucia ; Lindová, Jitka (advisor) ; Santariová, Milena (referee)
In recent twenty years dogs have become model subjects of comparing studies. These experiments show us that specific cognitive skills have developed during their domestication as an adaptation to anthropomorphic environment. For example dogs can follow human gaze and understand gestures. An important topic of today researches are linguistic skills of dogs. Knowledge from this area would help to discover more from evolution processes which formed human language. Last studies have proven dogs can distinguish a new object by a fast mapping. But when distinguishing two new objects, dogs had problems. That is why I decided to verify if dogs are able to remember two new words and match them with correct objects during one session. For this experiment I worked on a new methodical procedure and used three border collies dogs. The results showed that after some training dogs were able to correctly distinguish two new words in case the experimentalist stood in front of them and they used multisenzorial perception. In case they had only one communication source (visual or acoustic), they made more mistakes. The results show that functional reactions of dogs to human vocalization are getting better if they can use visual and acoustic source in one time during an interspecies communication. Key words: dog,...

This bachelor thesis deals with the use of a dog and dog sports. It is concentrated on the dog sport called agility, on the history of this sport and its regulations in the Czech Republic. It mentions races used in agility and their specific characteristics for this kind of dog sport. There were 1266 specimen studied in total, in three size categories. These categories are small, medium and large. and they are determined according to the shoulder height of the dog. For the analysis, the results from the Championships of the Czech Republic in the years 2010 till 2016 were used. The influence of gender, age and race on the final result was determined. On the basis of a detailed study and analysis, it was found out, that the most suitable dogs for participating in these races with the best results are in the category small and medium sheltie (37 %, resp. 23 %) and in the category large border collie (68 %) and belgian shepherd (9 %). Comparing the results in the competitions regarding the gender, bitches were always more succesful than dogs. As for the age, the dogs in the category small between the 5th and 7th year , in the category medium between the 5th and 6th year and in the categoty large between the 4th and 6th year achieved the best results.

British Infantry and Transformations of European Warfare at the Turn of the 18th and 19th Century
Prouza, Petr ; Stellner, František (advisor) ; Opatrný, Josef (referee)
(in English): The author's main focus was on development and causes of military art changes which British infantry has undergone, especially in the years 1775 - 1815. In author's work, given the magnitude and the topic specificity, the only focus was primarily on the study of official documents, which were used for British infantry training and to form a tactical doctrine. Work is divided into five chapters, which consist of an introductory part to the topic issue and analyse warfare factors in the 16th and 17th century that survived throughout the 18th and early 19th century. The second chapter was devoted into two main streams, including tactical ways of thinking related to the 18th century, which Great Britain army faced and socialised with. The second part of the chapter deals with causes and ways of how the first infantry introduces its training with a prescription of all-army presence. The third chapter, as the most comprehensive part of my thesis, analyses the main training document that the British infantry used since 1792. This was meant to be a turning point to the introductory of similar legislation in the Great Britain. The fourth chapter deals with firearms, which the British line infantry used to use throughout the periods of process analysis. The last fifth chapter analyses the...
