The Troubles and its current cleavage lines - spatial analysis

Main goal of this work is searching for spatial patterns of The Troubles and analysing of their relation to cleavege lines of contemporary society of Northern Ireland. This work further examines relations between spatial layout of victims of The Troubles and characteristics of brexit referendum of 2016. Analysis was performer using Spearman corelation coefficient. Cleavage line theory was used in this work, which originates in work of Lipset and Rokkan. This work found existence of relations between spatial layout of The Troubles and some factors of brexit referendum of 2016. Referendum Repealing the Eight Amendment of Irish Constitution in 2018

The bachelor thesis deals with the Irish referendum of 2018 about repealing the constitutional amendment that forbids artificially made abortion. It is a case study that examines on this particular referendum positive and negative aspects of using this element of direct democracy. The thesis examines direct democracy theoretically and historically, describes Irish political system and the role of referendum within. Furthermore, the thesis characterizes historical milestones and important events of abortion policy in Ireland before 2018, the situation before the referendum, initiation of the referendum until its official announcement. The thesis also deals with the position of relevant political parties and the Catholic Church on the subject of the referendum, it also examines the main campaigns - both in support of the repeal of the constitutional amendment and the campaigns that oppose it. Thesis also includes election surveys, the results of the referendum itself and their consequences. At the end of the thesis, this referendum is analysed and evaluated, whether the positive or negative aspects of the use of the referendum prevail. Hlavné témy britského referenda v mediálnom priestore

Thesis deals with the content of both campaigns LEAVE and REMAIN in the British referendum, talks about the main leaders and arguments. Emphasizes the role of political marketing as an important aspect affecting the outcome of the referendum, analyzes the channels through which both sides of the campaign communicated with the voters. Data was recieved from books, as well as internet resources. Based on analysis of these points, the thesis reveals the discourse of the referendum.

The principle of this thesis is the creation of communication strategy for a possible referendum. The bachelor thesis is based on experience from Slovakia and Estonia where the euro has already been accepted. The bachelor thesis also fo-cuses on the course of the communication campaign before the Irish referendum on the Lisbon Treaty and Brexit. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to create a communication campaign and budget of this campaign.

Proces vystoupení z Evropské unie jako dopad britského referenda

The diploma thesis deals with the current topic of the European Union withdrawal process as the impact of the British referendum in 2016. The first part analyzes the voting results and the events that followed the referendum. The next part examines the process of the UK's withdrawal from the European Union since the activation of Article 50 of the EU Treaty by March 2019. The following chapter deals with the identification of key and critical points during the UK-European Union negotiations. In the last chapter of the thesis, it will evaluate the current negotiation process by identifying successful and unsuccessful points that lead to recommendations for further negotiations on EU exit.

Approach of Czech political parties towards referendum in Czech republic

Czech Pirate Parties and SPD took the third and the fourth place in the last election to the parliament in 2017. These parties focused in their campaigns to the topic of the referendum and pure democracy. Especially party SPD has a nationwide referendum in their programme. The object of my thesis is to find out the approach of five Czech political parties towards the referendum in the Czech Republic. To explain what the referendum means and its characteristic features.

Football club supporters and the self-determination processes: The political behavior of supporters of the major football clubs in Scotland and Catalonia

The popularity of sport, in particular football has transformed it into a strong means that is widely utilized by politics nowadays. Hence, the influence of football club's identities and values on the political vote of their supporters should never be neglected. The aim of the current paper is to study the influence of four major clubs in self-determination processes in Scotland and Catalonia in the times of the referenda for independence in 2014 and 2017. The study takes a qualitative approach to the matter and analyzes the way clubs' identities and values affect the political vote of their supporters. The paper takes an unobserved field of research, by merging the factors of football clubs' support and fan culture with its possible significance on the political arena, as well as on the fate of submerged nations' independence movements.
