This bachelor thesis „Simulation of M2M communication using IEEE 802.15.4“ focuses on therotical study of M2M devices and deployment of IPv6 protocol to sites of standard IEEE 802.15.4. Practical part is a simulation of 6LoWPAN communication between sensors with central node and followed by forwarding of information to remote database server located in the Internet through LTE site. For simulation there was used simulation tool Network Simulator 3.
Tracking Air Pollutants by Using Wireless Sensor Network
Válek, Tomáš ; Šimek, Václav (referee) ; Tříska, Vít (advisor)
This thesis discusses design and production of a prototype of a device and implementation of a firmware for this device. Its function is to wirelessly monitor a concentration of pollutants like carbon monoxide and propane-butane in an atmosphere. Motivation is to allow parking of vehicles with engine gaseous fuels in underground collective garages for public use according to ČSN 73 6058 standard. The prototype of the device has been designed so that it could be used not only in collective garages but also in garages of family houses. The device was successfully designed, produced and programmed so that it can be deployed in real-world conditions.
Lightening control system with wireless interface
Hrbáček, Jan ; Srb, Jan (referee) ; Bradáč, Zdeněk (advisor)
The goal of the bachelor's thesis is to design a lightening control system with wireless interface intended to be used under conditions not allowing permanent control wiring. The system consists of one coordinator and several end devices communicating in accordance with the IEEE 802.15.4 Standard. The thesis includes background research on the theme and possible solutions, description of the circuit and the mechanical construction and analysis of the devices application firmware. The resulting devices built according to the thesis were continuously improved, so that the design is now fully functional and reliable.
Wireless Sensor Networks Security
Nagy, Jan ; Trchalík, Roman (referee) ; Očenášek, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis deals with the security of wireless sensor networks, mainly of the industrial standard ZigBee. The aim of the work is to familiarize with the 802.15.4 standard and the ZigBee technology, especially with present methods of security in this field. I have also analysed the requirements for the security of this technology. Further aim of this work is the introduction of the ZigBee kit and description of the Microchip's ZigBee stack. Analysis of the stack is connected with practical test of security functions in the ZigBee laboratory.
Zigbee node for monitoring of electric energy consumption
Štefany, Martin ; Mráz, Ľubomír (referee) ; Šimek, Milan (advisor)
Master's thesis designs a device for monitoring of electric energy consumption with ability to send measured data wirelessly using ZigBee technology. Theoretical part describes basic principles for measuring electric power and energy and also a possibility of digital measurement. Thesis provides short overview of already existing solutions for electric consumption measurement available on the market as well. Further the ZigBee standard is described together with one of its software implementations named BitCloud from Atmel Corporation. Design of the device deals with the selection of suitable integrated circuit for the consumption measurement and optimal voltage and current sensors. Then also its connection with the wireless module named ZigBee using SPI bus, power supply for the entire device and also the design of PCB. There is also a firmware implementation for the designed device based on BitCloud. Description of the firmware together with calibration process implemented is also part of the thesis. Finally, basic device testing and packet analysis of communication between designed device and ZigBee network coordinator is described.
Network Architecture and Interconnection of Embedded Systems
Trchalík, Roman ; Drábek, Vladimír (referee) ; Srovnal, Vilém (referee) ; Švéda, Miroslav (advisor)
The thesis focuses on the architecture of embedded systems. It summarizes the current state of accepted standards from IEEE 1451 family, which deals with creating an environment for the sensors and their involvement in various networks. These standards describe the open, network-independent communication architecture for a sensor-based system. One of the main outcomes of this work is the architectures presented as case studies, which can be used as design patters for embedded applications. They are demonstrated on ZigBee technology suitable mainly for small devices with very low power consumption. Based on these studies the new design of universal gateway was proposed. Its major advantage is that it allows interconnection of the endpoints based on different sensor network technologies. Additionally, the thesis deals with modifying the routing protocol of ZigBee network in order to reduce power consumption required to transmit one data packet.
Pump Control System
Streit, Jakub ; Šťastný, Ladislav (referee) ; Bradáč, Zdeněk (advisor)
The goal of this thesis is design of universal system for motor control. This device must be able to control at least 4 motors, stepper motors or DC motors. Wired, or wireless communication, using IEEE 802.15.4, is mandatory. The System is based on modular concept. The Basic modules are Control module, Communication module, Connection module and Power module. The system was tested in the control of fertilizer dosing pumps in the greenhouse
IEEE 802.15.4 standard and its practical realization
Kolařík, Jan ; Krajsa, Ondřej (referee) ; Koutný, Martin (advisor)
The bachalor thesis deals with IEEE 802.15.4 standard, ZigBee wireless communication technology and describes its practical implementation. The main part of this work is the creation of two laboratory tasks using the development kit from Jennic and the ZENA network analyzer. In the laboratory assignments, students become familiar with the properties and structure of the ZigBee standard, as is the range of equipment, interference caused other technologies, and passing data frames and learn how to create simple applications for ZigBee module. Finally, laboratory assignments are measured and in each chapter provides descriptions and results of these tasks.
Packet analyser for a Wireless Sensor Networks based on the standard IEEE 802.15.4
Bednařík, Martin ; Šimek, Milan (referee) ; Mráz, Ľubomír (advisor)
The objective of this thesis is to get familiar with wireless sensor networks technologies and with standard IEEE 802.15.4. and communication principle in wireless sensor networks built on this standard. Main goal of this project is to design a packet analyzer, which is capable to catch data on chosen channel and this data is able to analyze. Part of this project is production of necessary microcontroller software equipment. Another output of this project is do a research of available packet analyzers on market and compare them with analyzer build by this thesis.
Analyzer of IEEE 802.15.4 radio channels
Pokorný, Jiří ; Číž, Radim (referee) ; Šimek, Milan (advisor)
The master’s thesis deals with development of the radio channel analyser operating in the unlicensed 2.4 GHz band according to IEEE 802.15.4 standard. The analyzer will contain two basic functions, namely energy detection of channels and analysation of selected channel. Detection of energy will be solved by selection between simple graph and text list on display. Based on information about the occupancy of channels the user can decide which channel would be set up. During the receiving of valid frame the source address, signal strength and signal quality will be stored. At the end the processor will show these data on display. For controlling the device will be installed two LEDs and four buttons.
