International terrorism and human rights
Dutkevičová, Lenka ; Šturma, Pavel (advisor) ; Bílková, Veronika (referee)
145 International Terrorism and Human Rights Terrorism has posed a threat to humans, and their lives and rights for centuries; however, it started gaining attention in the 19th century, as it became quite a widespread means of reaching political goals first of anarchists and later other groups. Every generation has claimed 'their terrorism' to be a completely new sort of terrorism never seen before, but all this has been more about perception rather than real change of the situation. One such new era allegedly started with the terrorist attacks on the WTA and the Pentagon in the USA on 11 September 2001. It is arguable whether that terrorism is a new one, but the response was definitely harsher than before, because this time reaction to one event engulfed the whole world. The attack was certainly bigger than usual, that much must be admitted, and it targeted symbols of a nation that had been endangered on its soil in such a way just once before, a superpower whose vulnerability was suddenly revealed. The people all around the world got scared and politicians reached to strong means of fighting the threat and protecting their people, sometimes restoring to controversial or blatantly unlawful ways, occasionally clearly exploiting the situation. International law - general, humanitarian, criminal and mainly...

Phenomen of Subcarpathian Ruthenia in Czech interwar literature
Čingl, Pavel ; Mocná, Dagmar (referee) ; Hrabáková, Jaroslava (advisor)
The Subcarpathian Ruthenia entered the Czech literature in the period of the time between the wars after its annexation to Czechoslovakia in 1919. A lot of authors were attracted by this topic (Čapek, Olbracht, Vančura and others). Some of them realized a trip to the Subcarpathian Ruthenia to be able to bring the Czech readers near the life in this region. The Subcarpathian subject matter penetrated a wide spectra of the literary genres (a story, novel, ballad, fairy tale, etc.) The interwar authors novelized various motives from the Subcarpathian Ruthenia - its life, towns, habits, social situation and above all the space of its nature creating not only a background to the human space but also an individual storyline itself (see I. Olbracht). An outstanding connecting feature of the books is a tendency to introduce the Subcarpathian Ruthenia to the Czechoslovak readers. The Subcarpathian world was strange to the Czech readers but the mythical "withouttime" atmosphere effected the reader's perception in a positive way. The relationship between the reality and myth (a synchronical birth of a myth on the base of the reality) was brought to the perfection by Ivan Olbracht. The authors didn't pay attention to the space of the nature only, but to the human space, to an oppressive social situation -leading (in...

The Growth Warmblood Stallions During the Rearing
HRDINOVÁ, Lenka
The purpose of this thesis was to examine the growth and the growth curve of the Czech warmblooded horse stallions during rearing. Background materials were obtained based on its investigation of an examination horse rearing stable Czech warmblooded in Nový Dvůr (part of Municipal's stables in Pisek, sp). Stallions were measured in the years 2009 - 2010 in the age of 7 - 32 months. During this time it was measured 13 physical proportions, including four basic proportions ? height at withers (KVH) and height at withers measured by a tape (KVP), girth of a chest (OH) and girt of a shin (OHol). The growth curve and the behaviour of growth have been ascertained of the particular measurements. Then it was compared with literature. The greatest differences at results were observed in comparison with growth standards for height of withers. It was found that most of the measured stallions is classed in a growth zone + 1 (90.6% of cases). The remaining 9.4% of cases were included in the range + 2. The problem is also in the way, of definitiv of current standard, the current standard is determinated by one specific number (average value) and not spread within a certain range. The direct relationship with KVH also increased height at withers measured by tape. Based on the results we can conclude that the growth curve of the Czech warm-blooded stallions have changed and it should speculate about updating and modification of the standard for dispersion zone.
