The development of a meaning of life after an attempted suicide
Fialová, Helena ; Šípek, Jiří (referee) ; Loneková, Katarína (advisor)
This thesis deals with the evolution of the meaning of life after a suicide attempt. The purpose of this study was to find out what the experience of meaningfulness looks like prior to and subsequent to a suicide attempt. The theoretical aspect is divided into two sections: the meaning of life and death. These primary topics have been described, defined and placed in a context, which includes other important issues. The meaning of life deals with the aspects of behaviour, movement, suffering, logotherapy and existential analysis, and in conclusion defines the psychological methods for studying the meaning of life. The second part focuses on the perspective of psychologists and philosophers regarding the definition and classification of suicides, suicide as a psychological phenomenon, crisis and therapy, and on psychological research into suicidal behaviour. The empirical part of the study is based on qualitative methodology in which both qualitative and quantitative methods are employed. Three comparative studies have been utilised. This part contains the actual research data with descriptions of the individual studies, the research methods and an interpretation of the results. In conclusion, outcomes are discussed and possible directions for further examination are suggested. Keywords: meaning of life,...

The Czech National Bank, its position and activities
Vrba, Tomáš ; Kotáb, Petr (advisor) ; Dřevínek, Karel (referee)
The Czech National Bank, its Role and Activities In my Diploma Theses I would like to discuss the role and position of the Czech Central Bank. My theses is formally divided into five chapters, these chapters are divided into subchapters and sections. The purpose of this structure is for the theses to be complex and easy to work with. The first chapter, called "History and Origin/Formation of The Central Banking System", surveys the history of central banking system in this area since the beginning of the 19th century till 1993, when the Act No. 6/1993 Sb. about the Czech National Bank came into force in a word of later regulations. In the second chapter I am discussing various banking systems, focusing on the basic one-stage and two-stage classification. The third and fundamental chapter is called "The Role and Activity of The Czech National Bank." It consists of four subchapters, of which the first three -"The Central Banking System in the Czech Republic according to the actual legal regulations", "Constitution" and "Act on The Czech National Bank" should clear up the legal principles, basic determination and position of the Czech National Bank. A brief section about evolution of integration of the charge of the financial market till 1989 is also included in this chapter. The fourth and last subchapter...

Auditing of the Supreme Audit Office de lege ferenda
Jančík, Marek ; Boháč, Radim (advisor) ; Vondráčková, Pavlína (referee)
This rigorous thesis (thesis) deals with a legal regulation of the supreme audit institution on our territory. The task of the Supreme Audit Office is to verify whether the public authorities (the bodies executing public authority) manage public resources in accordance with the legal regulation and adequately, economically and effectively. The results of the activities of the Supreme Audit Office are the so-called audit conclusions. In view of the fact that the Supreme Audit Office has not been endowed with executive powers, these results of its activities do not lead directly to remedial action. The Supreme Audit Office provides chiefly feedback on the management of the state authorities to the Parliament of the Czech Republic, government, controlled person or body and also to general public since the audit conclusions are published. By way of its activities it contributes to stability and positive development of the state, therefore it is important to establish a suitable legal framework enabling the supreme audit institution to be endowed with sufficient competence and powers for proper fulfilling its goals. At the beginning of my thesis I am concerned with a classification of the Supreme Audit Office into the system of the control of public administration. Other bodies participating in the...

Comparison of PHP frameworks Phalcon, Nette and Zend
Rebenda, Jiří ; Vojíř, Stanislav (advisor) ; Zumr, Jiří (referee)
Wide usage of the PHP language across web developers and its good availability results in existence of many projects built on it. Unfortunately, due to the growth of PHP popularity more requirements are imposed on it. Not all of them tend to be related directly to the language itself but they can be affected by the external conditions (like e.g. Internet evolution, etc.). Special libraries (also known as frameworks) are response to existence of permanently repetitive tasks and growing complexity of problems being solved not only in the context of web development. There are three PHP framework representatives compared in this paper (Zend Framework 2.3, Nette 2.1.2 and Phalcon 1.3.1). In the first section, some fundamental terms are declared as well as some inherent limitations of the PHP language itself. Further, various comparison criterions are introduced together with additional research questions which are more or less answered in the main section. The second theoretical-practical section analyses the frameworks in the context of the defined problem domains. The main purpose of the application programming interface review together with included code snippets is to describe possible differences in approaches applied for some specific problems. Additionally, some options for measuring framework popularity mentioned in earlier section are used, too. In the end, frameworks are not evaluated either in positive or negative way. The final evaluation remains on the actual reader. The main focus is to provide basic insight into all three frameworks and possibly to (de)motivate to deeper exploration any of them. Also, as matter of secondary objectives some axiomatic assumptions are validated (like speed and popularity of the frameworks).

Diversity and distribution of scorpions (Arahnida: Scorpiones)
Plíšková, Jana ; Šťáhlavský, František (advisor) ; Kůrka, Antonín (referee)
This thesis is devoted to species diversity and biogeography of Scorpiones order. Bachelor work is presenting basic problems of this area and major split in higher classification of scorpions, which is still not firmly defined. In the work is also provided an overview of the current 15 families, to whom is the scorpions order divided by classification proposed by Soleglad & Fet (2003), including their distribution, the number of families and species they cover. Factors which had or still have an impact on the expansion of scorpions are also discussed. Described factors, which affects the distribution and diversity of scorpions, are: continental drift and Quaternary climate change (historical aspects) and temperature, parthenogenesis and human factor (environmental aspects). These factors influenced the biogeography of scorpions at different taxonomic levels, in different evolution time scale and on differently sized territories.

Phylogeny of selected species groups of the genus Torymus (Hymenoptera: Torymidae)
Křížková, Barbora ; Janšta, Petr (advisor) ; Skuhrovec, Jiří (referee)
Chalcid wasps (Chalciodiodea) is superfamily within parasitic group of the order Hymenoptera. These insects attack other arthropods. My thesis is focused on phylogeny of selected species groups of the genus Torymus Dalman 1820, whose range of hosts includes mainly gall-forming insect as gall wasps (Hymenoptera: Cynipidae) and gall midges (Diptera: Cecidomyiidae). Using genes 28D2 rDNA, COI and CytB, I constructed phylogenetic trees, which helped with discussing current view on classification of the genus and with inferring new findings about co-evolution with host organisms. Previously established morphological - ecological species groups were not supported by my analyses in many cases. Morphological traits seem to be convergent for many species. They often do not support observed monophyla as apomorphies. On the other hand, ecology and natural habitat of species was common for many branches in my cladograms. It was found out, that recent hosts are not probably original hosts of the group. Adaptive radiation in different habitats is likely to be the phenomenon that stands behind present-day host range of Torymus species. This process could have occurred after swapping to gall midges and gall wasps. Key words: Chalcidoidea, Torymus, phylogeny, parasitoid, host specifity, co-evolution

A Comparison of the Ombudsman Institute in Northern Europe and the Public Defender of Rights in the Czech Republic
Kostelecká, Karolína ; Matula, Miloš (advisor) ; Pěkná, Jitka (referee)
This diploma thesis creates a general model of the Ombudsman Institution in Northern Europe and draws a comparison to the Public Defender of Rights in the Czech Republic. This thesis introduces a theoretical framework of this topic including definitions for control of public administration, ombudsman, classification of ombudsmen and historical evolution of this institution in selected countries. Based on the analysis of legislation in Sweden, Finland and Denmark, the general model of the ombudsman institution in Northern Europe is created. The comparison between this general model and the Public Defender of Rights Institution brings recommendations for Czech modifications. These recommendations include anchoring ombudsman institution in the Constitution of the Czech Republic, specifying education requirements of the ombudsman in the Public Defender of Rights Act, or increasing the number of ombudsmen, thereby dividing responsibility among several people specialized in certain areas.

Critical look at NGOs practices in the regional development. A contribution to the problems of culture change and processes of aculturation
Kobes, Tomáš ; Skupnik, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Uherek, Zdeněk (referee) ; Kotalová, Jitka (referee)
The activity of NGOs issue is one of the major topic of Slovakian regional development and Romany issue. Participation of Slovakian NGOs was not a matter of course in the issue of regional development. The growing NGOs participation is based upon assumption of the Strategy of Slovakian government explicitly introducing Romany Issue to the context of regional development, NGO and foreign funds. Within the issue of regional development NGOs activities are not understood as a factor of democratization, but they are conceptualized as an initiator of social and cultural change. In the theoretical view classical conceptualization of change is not sufficient. The major theoretical frameworks that are criticised within these concepts are evolutional patterns, idealistic and materialistic determinism. They classify societies and cultural diversity in the dichotomies of traditional vs. modern, underdeveloped vs. developed. The basic mistake of these dichotomies is the idea about different dynamics of constituted social systems, where someone has to live in modernity and another one has to live in his naturalness or in tradition and superstitions. On the other hand the formal standpoint is too abstract without the reflection of social context. Nominated conceptual solution tries to get over these theoretical...
