Radicals formation in supersonic plasma jet
Mašát, Milan ; Tichý, Milan (advisor) ; Glosík, Juraj (referee)
Title: Creation of radicals in electric discharge supersonic plasma jet Author: Milan MaSat Department: Department of Surface and Plasma Science Supervisor: Prof. RNDr. Milan Tichy, DrSc. Supervisor's e-mail address: Milan.Tichy@mff.cuni.cz Abstract: Free radicals are the key intermediates and propagators of chemical reactions in Earth's atmosphere. Study of their structure and chemical properties is vital for understanding the processes in atmosphere. But their high reactivity brings the need for specific research methods. In-situ preparation and non-invasive detection and characterization techniques are needed. Most commonly used laboratory techniques such as photodissociation or electric discharge generate radicals at temperatures that are significantly higher then those under atmospheric conditions, which we intendto model. In this work, I was developing a source of cold radicals and experimental techniques for measuring their properties. 1 combined plasma source, which creates sufficient concentrations of radicals with supersonic expansion in which the translational and internal degrees of freedom are cooled deeply below the room temperature. For their characterization I used high-resolution spectroscopy utilizing near infrared laser diodes. I also developed and built electronic circuits and software...

Metallography of gamma TiAl intermetallic casts
Dlouhý, Antonín ; Válek, Robert ; Svoboda, Milan ; Zemčík, L.
A quantitative metallographic study was performed which focussed on the cast versions of advanced intermetallic alloys based on gamma TiAl phase. Specimens cut out of cast rods and turbine blades exhibited two pronounced microstructural characteristics: (i) a preferential orientation of lamellae in columnar grains below the cast surface and (ii) increasing fraction of equiaxed grains towards the central part of the casts. The relation between the particular microstrucrure and creep strength has been documented.

From the ethnographical exhibition to the open-air museum (the establishment of the open-air museum from the view of the culturology)
Strnadová, Ivana ; Matějů, Martin (referee) ; Czumalo, Vladimír (advisor)
This diploma work deals with a history of the establishment of the open-air museums from the view of the culturology. The introduction of the work pays attention to a folk art, especially to its definition, basic separation and its relation to a stylistic art. A big attention is paid to a scientific research of the folk art which has led to the establishment of a new socioscientific field - the ethnography. The work mentions especially the first attempts to a systematization of this field, lead representatives and their ideas and the particular influence of the ethnography to the establishment of the first open-air museum. Further attention is aimed to two national exhibitions which influenced the establishment of the open-air museums in the future - the Anniversary exhibition in 1891 and the Ethnographical exhibition in 1895. Another part of the work is about the establishment of the first open-air museum in the world - Skansen in Stockholm. Next very extensive part is dedicated to the establishment of the first Czech open - air museum in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm and then to the a chronological summary of other open-air museums to the present time. At the end of the work is summed up the meaning of the open-air museums for our culture and our familiarization with the cultural heritage of our country. The aim...

Internal dynamics of Mars: a study based on gravitational and topographic data
Kalousová, Klára ; Běhounková, Marie (referee) ; Čadek, Ondřej (advisor)
In the present work we deal with the model of elastic lithosphere thickness on Mars. We assume that the surface load of the planet is compensated only by elastic lithosphere deflection and formulate the spatial inversion based on the comparison between predicted and observed geoid. Performing very extensive tests on this inversion in the two dimensional axisymmetric geometry we gain its best parameters. Then we invert the real data and construct the models of Martian elastic lithosphere thickness for filters of variable width. We focus on some topographically significant areas, establish the elastic lithosphere thickness below them and compare the obtained values with published results. For some areas we get agreement. Assigning the age to particular areas we find the growth of elastic lithosphere thickness during time, which is in agreement with the so-called principle of frozen lithosphere.

The theological basis for the charitable activites of the Christian Church
Koudelka, Jaroslav ; Štica, Petr (advisor) ; Sládek, Karel (referee)
The theological basis for the charitable activities of the Christian Church. The thesis focuses on the charitable work of the Christian Church today known as Diakonia, characterised as a service of love to others, which is currently considered one of the key, i.e. constitutive elements, of the fundamental structure of the Church. Based on analyses of the relations between theological disciplines, particularly Biblical, systematic theology and Christian social ethics, it identifies the Christian Church's idea of charity as the communion of love in the service of those who suffer. A fundamental defining characteristic of the Diakonia charity is God's love and the structure of the assessment system that unfolds from it that is specific and essential for the Christian Church. Keywords Charitable work, Diakonia, service of love, Christian social ethics, Catholic social teaching

Polemics concerning the chalice between theology and politics in 1414-1431. A Contribution to the assumptions of the Basel disputation on the First of the Articles of Prague.
Coufal, Dušan ; Wernisch, Martin (advisor) ; Krmíčková, Helena (referee) ; Šmahel, František (referee)
The theses deals with scholarly polemic about giving communion in both bread and wine to priests and laity alike, which was held between the Catholics and the Hussites from 1414 till 1431. It concentrates on theological, prosopographical as well as political aspects of the controversy. The description of its ideological nature is based on studying both well known and not yet examined relevant literary pieces of work (tracts and quaestiones) and tries to understand them in their ideological and chronological context. On the Hussite side the three main arguments supporting the theology of the chalice according to Jacob of Mies are for the first time clearly described, on the Catholic side the background and effects of the Decree of the Council of Constance against the chalice from June 1415 are observed. Effort of the Czech Utraquists to reverse the Decree by a free public hearing is the topic of the second part of the theses. It observes how the theological controversy turns into a political cause, introduces its main participants and for the first time concentrates (with regard to some sources that have not yet been considered) on the origin of the idea of a Hussite hearing at the Council of Basel. The aim of the theses is also to outline basic ideological, literary and political preconditions for...

German texts by some representatives of national revival in the Czech lands of the 19th century, because of aspects of historical linguistics
Švrčková, Helena ; Vodrážková, Lenka (advisor) ; Tvrdík, Milan (referee)
In the first half of the 19th century, the emancipation efforts of the ethnic groups living under domination of bigger nations grew stronger. Emancipation movements were influenced by the humanistic ideas of Johann Gottfried Herder, proclaiming the language as the most important characteristic feature of a nation and that every nation has the natural right to claim it's identity. Motivated by these concepts, the Czechs identified the enforcement of Czech language with the fight for the nation. This Diploma thesis deals with the textual analysis of the German manuscripts by the Czech revivalists Karel Alois Vinařický, František Palacký and Pavel Josef Šafařík, regarding the state of education in the Czech lands and the comparison between these manuscripts. The textual analysis (Brinker: 2001) reflects the communication field, the purpose of writing the text, circumstances of their creation, the role of the emittent and the recipient and finally the intention of the author, which is related with the indenfitication of the text function. All texts contain elements of the text type "language defense". The consideration of the lexemes with the help of the contemporary dictionaries (Adelung, Grimma, Jungmann), etymological dictionary (Pfeifer) and Duden (2006) focuses on the semantic field of National...
