A comparative study of the Czech lexeme "aby" and its English translations in parallel Czech-English texts
Vašková, Petra ; Klégr, Aleš (advisor) ; Tichý, Ondřej (referee)
The present study focuses on functions and English translation counterparts of the Czech lexeme aby. It is a relatively frequent word in the Czech language which is described as a subordinating conjunction expressing purpose, effect, manner, and also as a particle with a number of discourse functions. The current description, however, does not seem complete and this study therefore aims to analyse its use in more detail. Lexicographic and grammatical sources served as a basis for the classification of aby as a conjunction and as a particle. After an analysis of 200 examples it soon became evident that this listing is not complete and the use of aby is more complex than originally expected. The present paper thus treats all the functions of aby and also exemplifies each of them using extracted corpus data. In the study, aby in its conjunction and particle use is firstly treated separately to analyse each of them in more depth. This analysis, consequently, provides basis to point out their common features as well as their differences. The English translational counterparts are another point of interest in the study, in particular, their adequacy, regularity, and lexicalization.

Documentation of sinkholes in Vilemovice locality
Jackulíková, Denisa ; Kratochvíl, Radim (referee) ; Vondrák, Jiří (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis was the detection of sinkholes in Harbešsko-Vilémovicka plateau and near surrounding. Using mostly the GNSS technology allowed us to create the network of subsidiary mapping stations. The remaining stations were determined by other geodetic mapping methods. By the means of fixed geodetic stations and subsidiary mapping stations, it was possible to utilise the polar method to target and consequently map detailed locations of points and these were then added to the points obtained by using the GNSS technology. The outcome of the performed mapping was the thematic map created in the 3rd class of precision based on mandatory geodetic reference systems S-JTSK and Bpv. This thesis can serve as a basis for the classification of sinkholes in the area of 1st Protection Zone of the Protected Landscape Area Moravsky kras.

The work focuses on finding an alternative consistent classification of hedge funds which will lead to improvement of investment decisions of financial market participants, to effective distribution of the investment portfolio and therefore to elimination of undiversified risks. For the practical analysis I use real data of hedge fund returns of particular relevant time period. I focus on research and description of possible methods of hedge fund classification mentioning their pluses and minuses. After passionate evaluation of each method I have chosen two methods according to which I classify the hedge funds datasets and finally I compare the results of both. The theoretical part of work focuses on definition of hedge funds, hedge styles and strategies, pluses and minuses as well as risk accompanying particular strategy.
