Czech household indebtedness and credit risk
Varhoľová, Eva ; Jakubík, Petr (advisor) ; Marková, Katarína (referee)
This thesis deals with an analysis of indebtedness of the Czech households and, as a consequence with the credit risk for banks and financial institutions. It points out the important role of the household sector in consumption and formation of savings. Main indicators of Czech households are discussed - the development of financial assets, liabilities and wealth. The thesis also provides comparison of the household sector in the Czech Republic with the other countries of the EU. Main objective of this thesis is construction of a model, which on the aggregated data for the Czech Republic captures the mutual dependency of non-performing loans provided to the households to the development of macroeconomic indicators. Selected model of vector autoregression enables the analysis of mutual relations between the loans provided for the households, share of the non-performing loans, development of GDP, interest rates, unemployment, consumption expenditures and the house prices. The thesis concludes with the prediction of indebtedness of the Czech households and together with the results of stress tests provided by the Czech National Bank estimates the resistance of the financial system to the household credit risk.

The analysis of dependence of the material deprivation of the households in the Czech Republic on the selected indicators
Cafourková, Magdalena ; Řezanková, Hana (advisor) ; Pecáková, Iva (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to analyse the material deprivation of the households with regard to the selected indicators, i.e. the costs that the household spends on housing, a region where the household is located, the number of the members and the dependent children in the household, age and sex of a head of the household, and economic activity and education level of the members of the household. The thesis aims not only to prove the dependence among the selected indicators but also to quantify this dependence by using the odds ratio. The individual effect of all variables was proven except of the one related to the number of the dependent children. It was also demonstrated that the factors constituting a threat for the households by a material deprivation rate vary by the different age groups. However, it can be concluded that across all the age groups, the material deprivation rate is determined by the sex of a head of the household, education level of the members of the household, and the costs that the household spends on housing.

2008: Dwarves are still alife. Fenomenon of a garden dwarf in the light of culturological context
Pejsarová, Jana ; Borecký, Vladimír (referee) ; Czumalo, Vladimír (advisor)
The intention of my thesis is to work out a complex study of the fenomenon of a garden dwarf, and through the perspective of culturological disciplines hammer out its merits. In the introduction I claim that the existence of garden dwarves by human houses is manifestation of a very old and deep human requirement subsisting in forming our homes in the way we feel secure there and we can orientate ourselves there. The first chapter presents basic concept definitions and summary of actual knowledge in dwarf-studies. Particularly I am interested in the origin of dwarves generally, and then garden dwarves as a specific species - its phylogenesis. Farther I focus on dwarf as a product of human activity: merchandise and artwork as well - its ontogenesis. I regard the relation between creator or owner and the artefact as very important. Chapter four is an essential part of my thesis. I write about traditional society and cults of home-fire gods, mainly in Czech region. I consider garden dwarf to be a continuator of the aforesaid old tradition. In my opinion, there are two connecting elements: shape and colour of its cap - referring to flames of home-fire and protective function of red colour in traditional opinion. Next chapter is dedicated to interpretation of dwarf in light of psychoanalyse. Then I propose to...
