Concepts of Quality Management and their application in Tourism

This thesis deals with quality management concepts and their applications in the field of tourism services. The first part defines the basic concepts of quality issues and deals with the approach to its management development. It includes specifics of quality management in the Czech Republic and relationship of quality and competitiveness at the national and corporate levels. The next part is devoted to presentation of the main methods and concepts of quality management, from the simplest historic instruments over the methodologies of planning, optimization, evaluation, analysis and prevention of risks to the indication of the main international standards and models for complex their achievement and control. It is always commented on their suitability and possible links to tourism services, which are listed and defined in the thesis in the context of the main theoretical approaches to quality and its management in the field of services. The analytical part is devoted to analysis of approaches to quality in tourism and specifics of the national service quality systems in developed European countries (Spain, Switzerland and Germany). Their evaluation and comparison with the state of quality management in tourism in the Czech Republic is executed. Subsequently the merits of implementing a quality management system according to ISO 9001 in the hotel business is analyzed and evaluated. Data from the project TLT Benchmark of consulting company KPMG Czech Republic for the period 2009-2011 and data of selected tourism organizations are used. The final part of the paper presents a model solution to the National quality system of tourism services in the Czech Republic. This is based on comparisons and analyzes and presents its main components, namely the national quality standard, brand quality, and institutional security systems. The proposed model is the author's own solution based on theoretical knowledge and long experience in the field of tourism and quality management.

The diploma thesis deals with ?The system of managing quality in a selected company in relationship to innovations in the product?. The terms quality, quality management and other terms associated with quality are explained in the thesis, furthermore the term innovation and some of its types were characterized. The goal of the thesis is analysis of the current situation in quality management, detection of reserves and duplicities, suggestions of measures for improving quality management based on analysis and practical knowledge using methods of international companies. I specifically focused on the company MOTOR JIKOV Strojírenská a. s. and her division of Mechanization. The company has a formally very well described and established system of quality management. I found out however, that not all rules, norms, regulations and instructions, that are theoretically very well described, are always correctly and sufficiently applied in praxis. To make the situation better, I have suggested the following measures: bigger emphases on the concept of work development in context with quality, rigorous use of proven methods, that were described in the first part of the thesis, attempt to get more objective data about quality development from customers, to be more initiative in the innovation department and watch the competition.
Comparison of effectiveness of different quality management systems in a given company

For this work a firm called ČSAD JIHOTRANS a. s., which provides transport services and holds certified norms ČSN EN ISO 9001, ČSN EN ISO 14001 a ČSN EN ISO 22000, was chosen. The goal of this thesis was to analyse the quality management system in the company with specialisation on ?regular and irregular transport of passengers?, to compare constituent conceptions of quality management and to suggest potential changes. In the main part a research in the chosen company is described. This research is aimed on an analysis of costs related to quality, the development of reclamations, a questionnaire examination for an evaluation of customer satisfaction, the efficiency of the process ?regular and irregular transport of passengers? and a comparison of constituent conceptions of quality management.
Accrediation and certification in a system of the services´ quality

This work concerns a quality management in the area of health service. The aim of degree work is anallysis and comparison of National accreditation standards in health service and downloading quality management system in hospital with destination obtaining certification. On basis of analyse both of processes it defined difference in extent and raiting certification and accreditation in hospitals. Process certification was analysed in Hospital Strakonice who in year 2006 got certification according to norm ISO 9001:2000 on the all hospital, also as on medical part, so another traffic. Process accreditation was analysed in Hospital Písek who in year 2006 successfully passed accreditation by SAK CZ and got certificate of hospital`s accreditation. From this work follow suggestion and recommendation on the optimal framework quality management system and application of the most suitable process in South Bohemian hospitals.
Quality management system and its improvement

These diploma thesis are oriented on a analysis of quality management system in Fezko a. s. Strakonice and propose possibilities for its improvement. Quality management system is in this company on high level. Company is certified according to ISO/TS 16949. The opportunities for system improvement were detected particularly in production control area and material flow. I propose using of modern quality management tools and implementing of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodology in production, including kaizen and kanban techniques.
Zajišťování kvality dle norem řady ISO 9000 ve společnosti TEAM TRACKERS s.r.o.

Práce hodnotí plnění požadavků normy ČSN EN ISO 9001:2001 ve společnosti TEAM TRACKERS s.r.o. V teoretické části je vymezen pojem kvalita, popsán vývoj přístupů ke kvalitě. V rámci kapitol praktické části je analyzováno a hodnoceno plnění jednotlivých prvků normy, na základě zjištění jsou poznatky shrnuty a jsou uvedeny návrhy na zlepšení. Každá z kapitol aplikační části obsahuje požadavek normy, popis skutečnosti ve společnosti TEAM TRACKERS s.r.o. a vyhodnocení.
The experiences of the system quality implementation on the municipalities with accent on the decrease of the budget costs

V teoretické části se věnuji vymezení územní samosprávy, obcí s důrazem na jejich hospodaření. Následuje definice pojmu kvalita ve veřejné správě s vysvětlením důvodů, které municipality vedou k modernizaci jejich úřadů. Upozorňuji na problémy, se kterými se při implementaci mohou municipality setkat. Další kapitola obsahuje popis metod modernizace územní samosprávy, které jsou nejčastěji používány v České republice. Analytická část je zaměřena na popis implementace normy ISO 9001 na konkrétním subjektu územní samosprávy ? úřadu městské části Praha 10 s akcentem na zjištění vlivu na spokojenost občanů, zaměstnanců a efektivnost probíhajících činností. Následuje rozpočtová analýza, kdy nejprve vysvětlím současné trendy v rozpočtech obcí a potom se pokouším najít ty položky v rozpočtu ÚMČ Praha 10, kde lze dosáhnout úspor v důsledku zavedení systému kvalitního řízení. Následně se snažím odhadnout výši úspor, které by byly realizovány v národohospodářském hledisku, pokud by systémy kvalitního řízení byly zaváděny plošně po celé České republice.
