Transport Accessibility of Municipalities in the Karlovy Vary Region by Individual and Public Transport

This thesis deals with the spatial orientation of transport links in the Karlovy Vary region, with emphasis on links between the centers of the region and its hinterland. The first part describes the general characteristics of this area. It is followed by a selection of the Karlovy Vary Region transport centers and analysis of their acccesibility. This forms the basis for the transport-geographical regionalization of the region, according to the accesibility rates. The final part of this thesis is devoted to the comparison of the individual regionalizations and the identification of factors that affect them.

Professional qualification of elementary school teachers of the Karlovy Vary region in relation to Act. No. 563/2004 Coll.

The paper analyzes the competence of teachers in elementary schools of the Karlovy Vary Region in the context of finding the opportunities, needs and problems of university degree-qualified teachers study in combined form. The main goal is to provide forecasts of fulfilling the conditions laid down by Act No. 563/2004 Coll., as amended by the prescribed professional qualification of teachers of primary schools by the end of 2014 with proposals to eliminate the potential risks of development. Based on the results obtained by analyzing the competence of primary school teachers, supply conditions and needs of university-qualified teachers combined study by questionnaire was possible to formulate a forecast level of competence of teachers in elementary level of the Karlovy Vary Region of 78.5 %. The development proposals for the elimination of risk can be regarded as a key respecting the needs of unqualified teachers, intensive collaboration with the municipalities as school founders in the region and ensure teacher participation in school projects Operational Programme Education for Competitiveness (ECOP) in the open field of educational study of Science.

Differences of demographic development in the northwest region of the Czech Republic

This diploma thesis is focused on the demographic development in the Usti nad Labem region and Karlovy Vary region from the year 1993 up to the present. It captures the evolution of demographic processes in the regions using the time series, compares their development and explains the differences between the two regions. It also compares the development of selected socio-economic indicators that have significant impact to the demographic situation in the regions. The conclusion provides evaluation and selected recommendations aiming at improvement of the socioeconomic aspects that affect the entire region most importantly.

Availability of social services for seniors in the Karlovarsky region now and in 50 years

Master thesis aims to evaluate the accessibility of social services in Karlovarsky region. The thesis is focused on the demographics of seniors and social services intended for them, specifically retirement homes. In addition to analyzing the accessibility of social services is elaborated demographic projection of region's population over the next 50 years. In the theoretical part is described the definition of social policy and the fundamental theoretical principles, types and functions. This part also describes the legislative framework of social policy in the Czech Republic. In relation to social policy are presented issues of community planning as a tool for the implementation of social policy in the Karlovarsky region. The conclusion of theoretical part is devoted to the theory of demographic projections and describes the basic projection methods. The practical part in the introduction focuses on general and demographic characteristics of the Karlovarsky region and the current state of social services for the elderly, specifically homes for the elderly. The second half of the practical part presents a demographic projection of region's population over the next 50 years and is focusing on senior component whose proportion in the population will increase. This projection is calculated by the component method without migration. The conclusion of the practical part is comparing the initial state of social services and the anticipated development of seniors. It also describes community plan in the Karlovarsky region with emphasis on the development of social services for seniors. Documents drawn up by the Karlovarsky region on issues of social services and conclusions of this thesis suggest that there is no need to increase capacity, but rather to focus on the change in the structure of users and ensure that these services are provided to people whose health condition really requires this kind of complex social care.

Incidence of mercury in reservoir Skalka and its enviromental impact

The aim of my thesis is to focus and highlight the problem of contamination by mercury reservoir Skalka. I will describe what is mercury and its chemical marking where everywhere we mercury in the environment meet. I mention the importance of mercury and how it can become toxic.
The main focus of my work is the emergence of mercury in the reservoir, how it came to that, what was the impact on the environment in the tank and its surroundings, and what steps have been taken to remove it.

Classification of brownfields of MEP Ostrov for procurement of Municipal Planning Analytical Documents

The aim of this thesis is to gain an insight into the concept of brownfields and
to allocate the underused locations in the district of Ostrov in the Region of Karlovy Vary, which includes 14 municipalities. This study is based on the findings
and experience of Czech and foreign authors who deal with this issue.
The literature review presents some examples of successful case studies, which made use of brownfields in the Region of Karlovy Vary. Additionally, it examines
some new project proposals which are awaiting their approval in the town of Ostrov focusing on the financial support in the current programme period.
Furthermore, this thesis focuses on the issues of underused locations recorded
in the territorial analytical documents of the town of Ostrov in comparison with the results of a field survey, which was carried out in 14 locations in the district
of Ostrov.
The findings and outcomes of this thesis can be used in a proposal of unified classification system of underused locations, in the acquisition of new territorial analytical documents of the town of Ostrov and while compiling further related documents of the Karlovy Vary Region.

Analysis of Unemployment - Region Karlovy Vary

Bachelor thesis is focused on the analysis of unemployment in the Region Karlovy Vary, and the Czech Republic over seven years, from 2008 to 2014. The work is divided into six chapters. The first chapter is an introduction to the topic of the bachelor thesis. The second chapter describes the aims and methods of scientific accomplishments that have been used in the work. The third chapter contains basic information about the labour market and its division, introduces the concepts of unemployment and the natural rate of unemployment, the unemployment measurement methodologies, define the consequences of unemployment and characterizes the state employment policy. The content of the fourth chapter of the analysis of unemployment in the Czech Republic, the Karlovy Vary region and sub-districts of Karlovy Vary. The next chapter contains an evaluation of the results of the analysis. The final chapter is a draft of possible solutions for improving employment in the Region, and a conclusion.

Defunct places in the Karlovy Vary region and their mapping within ÚAP

The aim of this thesis is the design and verification of practical methods for evaluating the values of the territory in the form of remains (relicts) of extinct settlements in the landscape and their possible involvement in the current landscape and settlement structure. Within the described method will be proposed to the invol-vement of the acquired data into the structure of UAP (ORP and regions) and the proposal for the use of information obtained in regular updates PAM. This use im-plies a certain generalization of data, which will be described on the basis of practical verification of the selected area of the Karlovy Vary repents.
