Conditions of Life of Families Living on Social Allowances in the Long Term
BERANOVÁ, Kateřina
This thesis for baccalaureate is dealing, theoretically and practically, with issues of the living conditions of families living on social allowances in the long term. The objective of the thesis was to describe the conditions of life of a selected sample of families living in dependence on the state system of the social protection focused on the social conditions of life of the families. A partial objective was to appreciate possible relationship of conditions of life of the families and the occurrence of social pathological effects and criminal activities in these families. I used the method of a concerned observation and a guided interview with the quality research. The observation was carried out in the course of visits to families and interviews with individual family members. The interviews focused on several pre-determined topics. From the data obtained from observations and interviews with the families members, I drew up four case studies. The comparison of case studies that followed proved a relationship between the lives of families depending on the financial support of the state and occurrence of the negative phenomena such as criminal activities and drug addiction. These phenomena produce a negative effect on interpersonal relations in families, contribute to psychological and emotional devastation of their members and impair the functions of the family as a whole. It is also possible to state that the surveyed families live on the conditions of income scarcity due to a low financial support of the state. It results in a certain degree of insulation of the families from their social surroundings. The criminal activities and social pathological phenomena still increase the social insulation of the families. The families attempt to resolve a number of the problems of their existence, mainly those of housing and employment. These problems are resolved by themselves or with some assistance of the broader family. For various reasons, these attempts tend to be unsuccessful. Therefore, they are left to the support of the external that is currently insufficient.

Gender in media practice. Male and Female in advertisements
Říhová, Aneta ; Remr, Jiří (advisor) ; Horák, Vít (referee)
Bachelor thesis discusses the issue of men and women portrayal in advertisement; with the main focus set on contemporary television advertisement in Czech Republic. Topic is firstly described from the theoretical point of view, which sets the foundations for the research itself and introduces the reader to the current knowledge in this field. The following study is carried out on two different levels. Content analysis, which is used for breaking down of the essential parts of advertisement, clearly exposes the fact of gender stereotype remnants, even though the shift in certain equalizing aspects is noticeable; analysis is done upon a selected set of advertisements from regular broadcasts during the spring of 2011. Different angle towards the issue is approach using in-depth interviews with selected respondents. This method allows describing the overall understanding of women and men in advertisement by receivers of television advertisements; age of members of the set ranges from 25 to 45 years, women and men with different education were equally represented, providing for absolutely unique views from all individuals. The perception of said matter is strongly influenced by sex and interest in media issues of those respondents.

By-laws of a cooperative
Kypta, Michal ; Oehm, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Zahradníčková, Marie (referee)
By-laws of a cooperative Abstract My Master's degree thesis contents of seven chapters, each of them dealing with the by-laws of a cooperative, but each of them different preview. Reason, why I decided wrote this thesis, is that this area of law allows many different modifications. These modification are important for existence a cooperative, member of a cooperative and other people, which act with a cooperative. Other reason, why I decide wrote this thesis, is that a cooperatives are different from other companies. The aim of first chapter of my thesis is introducing a cooperative such as the term - a cooperative is company business entity, where usually member's personal liability is limited by amount of contribution, his history and principles, which are bases of a cooperative. The second chapter explaines that by-laws are contract concluded between members of cooperative and this concludation is process "sui generis". They have nature such as "constitution" for the cooperative and as Memorandum of Association for other companies. The chapter number three describes basic characters of by-laws of a cooperative. These characters consist especially on subchapter. Special subchapters deal with the force by- laws, invalidity by-laws, establishing or change by-laws. Following two chapters compares provisions...

Neurofibromatosis type 1 and NF1 germline mutations in Czech patients
Bendová, Šárka ; Křepelová, Anna (advisor) ; Kleibl, Zdeněk (referee) ; Kadlecová, Jitka (referee)
Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1, MIM 162200) is an autosomal dominant disorder affecting about 1 of 3000 live births, involving many cell types and organs, and associated with an increased risk of malignancy, predominantly of the central and peripheral nervous system 1. Tumour development is caused by inactivation of the NF1 tumour suppressor gene and subsequent cell cycle deregulation 2. Mutational analysis of NF1 is a challenge due to the presence of pseudogenes, large size of the gene, lack of mutational hotspots, and occurrence of a very diverse spectrum of mutations. There is no clear-cut genotype-phenotype correlation allowing accurate prediction of severity of the disorder. Only two mutations have been associated with a particular NF1 phenotype 3,4. This PhD thesis is composed of six publications dealing with NF1. Publications 1 and 6 are focused on NF1 mutation analysis in 67 patients from the Czech Republic. Genotypes and spectra of causal mutations are presented together with phenotypes of the patients and comparison of efficiency of various methods. Sporadic or familial cases with known germline mutation were distinguished by mutational analysis of other family members. This led to a hypothesis that the incidence of sporadic cases could had been overestimated in the past because of overlooked...

Characterization of Antirecombinase Activity of Human FBH1 Helicase
Šimandlová, Jitka ; Janščák, Pavel (advisor) ; Cséfalvay, Eva (referee)
Homologous recombination (HR) is an essential mechanism for accurate repair of DNA double-strand breaks (DSBs). However, HR must be tightly controlled because excessive or unwanted HR events can lead to genome instability, which is a prerequisite for premature aging and cancer development. A critical step of HR is the loading of RAD51 molecules onto single-stranded DNA regions generated in the vicinity of the DSB, leading to the formation of a nucleoprotein filament. Several DNA helicases have been involved in the regulation of the HR process. One of these is human FBH1 (F-box DNA helicase 1) that is a member of SF1 superfamily of helicases. As a unique DNA helicase, FBH1 additionally possesses a conserved F-box motif that allows it to assemble into an SCF complex, an E3 ubiquitin ligase that targets proteins for degradation. FBH1 has been implicated in the restriction of nucleoprotein filament stability. However, the exact mechanism of how FBH1 controls the RAD51 action is still not certain. In this work, we revealed that FBH1 actively disassembles RAD51 nucleoprotein filament. We also show that FBH1 interacts with RAD51 and RPA physically in vitro. Based on these data, we propose a potential mechanism of FBH1 antirecombinase function.

Application of demographic methods in evaluation of bank top management and its influence on economical success
Laušmanová, Barbora ; Hulíková Tesárková, Klára (advisor) ; Rychtaříková, Jitka (referee)
Application of demographic methods in evaluation of bank top management and its influence on economical success Abstract The thesis presents the possibility of demographic analysis as a tool for assessing the impact of the demographic structure of the governing boards on the economic prosperity of banking institutions. The aim is to confirm or refuse the justification of regulatory proposals by the European Commission issued after analyzing the causes of financial crisis, which require the sufficient diversity (gender, age, etc.) and adequate experience of governing boards of banks. Analyzed banking institutions were divided into three groups according to economic performance, within these groups the boards structures were assessed using demographic and statistical indicators. Application of correlation analysis confirmed the relationship of economic performance and some used indicators. Life tables were utilized as the next analytical tool which allows to express the expected time spent in the governing bodies and the expected time of gaining experience in banking before joining the board of directors. Finally the survival analysis was introduced to evaluate the population of members of the boards in banks according to the time period spent in the board and by time period of gathering previous experience...

The historical development and present regulation of a child benefit
Boldys, Zbyněk ; Štefko, Martin (advisor) ; Koldinská, Kristina (referee)
Historical development and current regulation of the child allowance in the Czech Republic This thesis describes the development of monetary social allowance paid by state to dependent children. The work revealed that the child allowance is relatively new legal institution first recorded in 1922 in the act that increased incomes of government employees and their family members implicitly. This fact has appeared as a disadvantage of the thesis as it is difficult to define it in comparison to other traditional legal institutions determined, adapted and accepted from Roman law jurisprudence. The thesis deals with the child allowance defined in current legislation as well as with a former education allowances that were of the same form and the current allowances are based on this type. It is abstracted from the chronological outline of the first part as well as the content of the rights and obligations of entities associated with these allowances as well as the common body - the monetary support from the state used for dependent children. An identical object and the rights and obligations arising from it can be found in the content of similar allowances, but due to the extent of the theses there were no possibility to include these in the text. The thesis is divided in two parts. The first part...

Topical issues of corporate governance in Czech and Community regulation
Kolář, Petr ; Čech, Petr (advisor) ; Černá, Stanislava (referee)
Current Corporate Governance Issues in the Czech and EU Law In 2003 The European Commission released a paper entitled Modernising Company Law and Enhancing Corporate Governance in the European Union - A Plan to Move Forward. The document outlined a short-, medium- and long- term plans for enhancing corporate governance. Strengthening shareholders' rights has been one of its objectives. Following the plan, The Directive 2007/36/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the exercise of certain rights of shareholders in listed companies was enacted on 11 July 2007. It has been transposed into the Czech legal system in the law 420/2009 Sb. which came into force on 1st December 2009. The directive addresses an important corporate governance issue of overcoming shareholders' apathy by removing barriers, which have been keeping shareholders from actively exercising their rights. It however failed to provide a definition of a shareholder. The directive set out rules for proxy voting in a general shareholders' meeting. Member states or companies are not allowed to restrict the exercise of shareholder rights through proxy holders for any purpose other than to address potential conflicts of interest between the proxy holder and the shareholder by one of three prescribed methods. The Czech Business Code has...
