Prognostic significance of levels of brain specific biochemical markers in head injury patients
Homolková, Helena ; Choc, Milan (advisor) ; Náhlovský, Jiří (referee) ; Netuka, David (referee) ; Brichtová, Eva (referee)
OBJECTIVES: The S100B protein subgroup is a thermolabile acidic calcium-binding protein. S100B protein was first described in the central nervous system. Destruction of the nerve tissue results in S100B protein release from astrocytic glial cells and elevation of its levels in the cerebrospinal fluid. If the blood-brain barrier is also damaged, S100B gets into the systemic circulation and elevated blood levels of S100B are detected. Higher S100B serum levels in patients with head injury are predictive of possible development of secondary brain injury and the extent of permanent injury to the CNS. MATHERIAL AND METHODS: The authors present their results obtained in the group of 39 children aged 0 (newborns) to 17 years with isolated craniocerebral injury. RESULTS: Our group included 39 children aged 0-17 years. Excellent results (GOS - Glasgow outcome scale 4-5) were observed in 33 patients already at the time of transfer from our ICU to the neurological department. There was no death and the poor outcome group included only 6 children. Second GOS evaluation was performed 6 months later, when 36 children were in the GOS 4-5 group and only 3 children in the GOS 2-3 group. CONCLUSIONS: Due to high variability in S100B protein serum levels in children depending on age and gender, no correlation between...

The whole practical part has been elaborated on the basis of measurements done at the incoming inspection measuring laboratories and in cooperation with QMM1.2 department. The results have been evaluated by statistical software qs-STAT ME 6 by Q-DAS company.

Crime and juvenile delinquency in basic schools in the Klatovy District.
BLÁHOVÁ, Václava
This dissertation looks at crime and juvenile delinquency in basic schools in the Klatovy District. The theoretical section gives a concise appraisal of Act No. 218/2003 Coll., on Juvenile Justice, as well as the internal and external factors potentially influencing the socially pathological behaviour of young people. The study examines current patterns of youth criminality in the Czech Republic and developing trends connected with the issue over recent years, which it then briefly compares to the wider EU experience. The possibilities for intervention work by government departments dealing with education, the police and the justice system with young people at risk is studied in the subsequent chapter. The overall aim of the dissertation is to map the occurrence of predominantly minor offences and juvenile delinquency at basic schools in the Klatovy District in terms of gender, as I suspect that this indicator will feature strongly in the structure of socially pathological youth behaviour. Research was used to determine young people{\crq}s awareness regarding liability for their actions, and what kinds of offences or delinquent activities they most frequently perpetrate. An anonymous questionnaire with 32 closed, half-open and open format questions was used to collect data, and was presented to 303 respondents in years 7, 8 and 9 at five different basic schools. Of the total number of students, 49% were female and 51% male. Schools were deliberately chosen to fulfil the task set by the dissertation, i.e. the question of gender was a primary concern. The aim of the questionnaire was to find out what kinds of socially pathological activities are perpetrated by youths at basic school, and based on the subsequent findings, to decide whether current intervention work with young people at risk in the Klatovy District is sufficient. The research itself corresponds in several areas with data available from the Youth Crime Prevention Officer. In particular, it confirms that delinquency often involves driving motor vehicles without driving licences and the consumption of alcohol. The survey investigation demonstrated young people{\crq}s ignorance of the various age thresholds of criminal liability for their actions, the ascendancy of petty theft, aggression towards classmates and the consumption of illegal drugs. The research points to the conclusion that intervention and work with these groups of young people at risk in the Klatovy District, in terms of preventing illegal drug use and therapy, is insufficient, which similarly applies to the prevention of petty theft, consumption of alcohol, bullying and driving without a valid licence. The elimination of such pathological behaviour will only be successful provided that closer contact is established between school students and prevention workers (school psychologists, counsellors, etc.), as well as other potential organisations, such as the Czech Police, anti-drug co-ordinators and social workers.

Callcentrum System Management in a chosen Firm
Guzi, Jan ; Černý, Jan (advisor) ; Novák, Michal (referee)
This thesis deals with operational management of an inbound call center and planning necessary work capacities. Company BEZREKLAMKY Ltd. established its own inbound call center, as a reaction to the dissatisfaction with the services of an external service provider and it is necessary to properly optimize operational capacities and human resources necessary to serve 5 to 7 thousand customer callers per month. Practical part of the thesis - planning of the workforce capacity, scheduling the shifts and planning the opening hours of the inbound call center - works with a rather extensive theoretical platform, which brings new views of operations management inbound call centre and also works with the internal and external surveys related to the functionality of newly established inbound call centre. Conclusions made on the basis of the theoretical part were applied directly to the planning and operational management of the inbound customer call centre. This thesis helped applied over 25 conclusions for the studied inbound call centers. The goals, which the company set out to fulfill, while planning the new department, are then partly validated via models of system dynamics and in the last section of the thesis reflects on the extent to which these goals are feasible.

Non-governmental organization within the IRS in the Central Region.
ČAPEK, Martin
The aim of this thesis is to map non-governmental organizations (NGOs) within the Integrated Rescue System (IRS) of the Central Bohemian Region. The definition of NGOs and what is volunteering. The thesis describes what are legal forms of NGOs, analysis of their condition, the manner of their involvement and commitment in dealing with emergencies (the EM). Furthermore, the timeliness of their contractual relationship and the ability of its implementation. Whether they are able to deploy the nominal power and resources. The paper also dealt detailed legal forms of contractual relationships bodies. Whether it's planning to request assistance under the law on the IRS, there is an entity other components of the IRS or a Cooperation Agreement and the revenues resulting rights and obligations of the parties. In addressing the issue were overviewed contracts and agreements entered into with entities with the basic components of the IRS. There was a validation agreements and addressing subjects was determined the availability and capability of performance of agreements. Actuality declared forces and resources. Further, a search for new suitable subjects via the internet, has included questioning of subjects with essential components of the IRS and using research in reports of intervention in the event of IRS statistics. Last but not least, the author used personal experience and contacts in the industry. The NGO is an organization not organized by state and state independent, which is designed to charitable activities or for nonprofit activities for public or private benefit. The most commonly used legal form are associations, foundations or endowment funds, church or religious society and nowadays non public benefit corporations. Their work and contribution to the functioning of the IRS is not negligible. Research carried out by the Legal Department, it was found that the two basic components of the IRS, the Police of the Czech Republic (PCR) and the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) has not concluded any agreements with NGOs. These components solves all the problems with using external intervention through the commander, or the Firefighter's Rescue Squad (hereinafter referred to as FRS) region and its Regional Operational and Information Centre (hereinafter KOPIS). The investigated subjects had a valid agreement by the arrangement were ready to meet her in that range. Local Group Water Rescue Service of the Czech Red Cross (hereinafter WRS CRC) Kladno II, Military History Club Sanites Car Beroun, Help in Danger or Rescue Corps of the Czech Republic are not very or not at all used. Quest was searched several potential new entrants. Unfortunately, most of them did not meet even the basic requirements for an agreement with the IRS. It is mainly suitable filling activities, emergency exit for 24/7 availability and or other low. The only suitable candidate, who left after the research is voluntary rescuers Association of the Czech Republic, o.s. from Dobřichovice. It met all the prerequisites for the proper and efficient functioning of the IRS and will be invited to the next meeting. Based on the data of the Central Region of the IRS has covered well functioning of NGOs. This condition is checked regularly and agreements are updated. Some operators have virtually no use and are not recruited. Here's the question the merits of the duration of the contracts and therefore the possibility of any termination. During the research it was found that other potential except for one subject is not in the county. From the side view of the IRS, either FRC or other components, is not put forward any request to supplement subjects. All areas of the MU solutions are covered and adequately safeguarded. And both alarmed plan of the region, as well as in regional emergency plan.

Title: Fluorescence spectroscopy of calcofluor stained yeast cell suspensions Author: Marek Dostál Department: Fyzikální ústav UK Supervisor: prof. RNDr. Jaromír Plášek CSc. Abstract: We were finding and we found fast and easy fluorescence spectroscopy method which we can use for cell wall research of different yeast types that were cultivated on various medium. Gauging was under way in solution of different ionic forces. The growth medium has the greatest effect on quality of cell wall. We use calcofluor as fluorescent colour. After exposing calcofluor by UV (λex ≈ 365 nm) calcofluor emites blue fluorescence with maximum intensity around 420 nm in dependence on suspension concentration. We must be careful about inner filter that can influence our result during research. We validated diversity of cell wall structures in various yeast types by ratio spectral method (spectral fingerprint). Keywords: Fluorescence, spectroscopy, cell wall, calcofluor, inner filter.
