Teaching methods in post-secondary-school English courses

The objective of the thesis was twofold. Firstly, to map the situation in one-year post- secondary courses of English organised by private language schools in the Czech Republic and to recommend teaching methods and materials suitable for the given age group and the aims of the courses. Secondly, to outline the legislation regulating this form of study and in view of the recent legislative changes to compile a set of arguments for preserving the student status for the course participants. The first part of the thesis summarizes the lingvodidactic principles of teaching English as a foreign language with respect to the specific characteristics of learners between 19 and 22 years of age. It also presents a brief overview of the historical development of teaching methods as a background to the methodology applicable to post-secondary courses and provides a basis for textbook evaluation and selection. In the empirical part of the thesis the organization of post-secondary courses at three private language schools was contrasted and two sets of questionnaires completed by their students were analysed. The analysis and the potential for developing tourism and recreation on the Croatian coast with an emphasis on water sports

The graduation thesis deals with the analysis of Croatian tourism with emphasis on water sports, specifically yachting. The first part is a theoretical part which concerns problems of geography of tourism. Next chapter entitled Presumptions for tourism in the Republic of Croatia, where they are applied to particular presumptions of tourism on the territory of the Republic of Croatia. The second part is based on an analysis of development and current state of tourism and recreation in Croatia, with a view to statistics of visit rate and statistics of accommodation. The fundamental section are chapters devoted to sailing and marinas on the Croatian coast. In the last part was the main task the analysis of marinas according to official statistics, to create own typology of marinas and to devise own route across the sites with quality conditions for sailing. The tables, graphs and maps, which serve mainly to demonstrate and clarify the findings are components this graduation thesis.

This thesis titled Impact of driving mode on urea consumption describes the influence between different drive modes and conditions of urea injection into the selective catalytic reduction system. The first half of the thesis deals with the theoretical part. Introduction deals with the theory of formation of harmful pollution in exhaust emissions, the effects of pollutants and legislative regulations. There are also explained key parts of different systems, reduction of harmful exhaust gas components . The main emphasis is put on the selective catalytic reduction. Other chapters are devoted to the methodology and testing procedures . The aim of this thesis is a presentation of the system regulation, its pros and cons under various operational modes.

Using of Disciplinary Means at the Second Stage of Basic Education

Thesis entitled ?Using of Disciplinary Means at the Second Stage of Basic Education? set itself a task to find out how teachers react to indiscipline of their pupils at the second stage of basic education during the lessons of Czech. In the empirical part there will be used the method of uninvolved observation and an interview with teachers. There will also serve a questionnaire for pupils to fill in the information and to look at the problems from more points of view. The theoretical part will offer a professional base for the research in practise. At first there will be given a definition of the term discipline by different authors, then there will be named and described reasons for indiscipline and types of indiscipline, then the longest chapter about disciplinary means will follow, and the last two chapters will be interested in prevention of indiscipline and mutual communication between the teacher and his/her pupils.

The application of art activities focusing on the development of personality of people in custodial sentence

This thesis deals with the application of the fine arts with much focus on the development of personality on people serving prison sentences. The content of this thesis is divided into theoretical and practical chapters. First part defines some key terms of including the program of rehabilitation and pedagogical events that are used in this specific environment. The practical chapters are devoted to the realization of own longer-term didactic project named ?Kordelie? which is concerned with the positive thinking, values, and the development of competences at the target group of occupationally unclassified sentenced women in the custodial prison České Budějovice. Based on the application of these sets of activities and their consequent evaluation, I am obliged to observe the real possibility of fine art inclusion in didactic projects to individuals in correctional facility.

The moderator's function in TV news programs, the criterions of his evaluation ...

The spectators incline to judge the whole medium by news broadcast because of its importance . Reporting has privileged status in program structure of almost every TV station. The main reporting broadcast is groundwork of station's program quotation . Contrary to the another programs which depend on age, gender, taste, education, interest and other subjective and objective factors of the specific watcher, the reporting is the genre, that speaks to the widest spectrum of the audience (with exception of the children). This is the reason why the public presentation of the reporting moderator's is so important. Work of the whole editorial team is presented by moderator's appearance. His performance can influence how the watcher accepts the information. A main function of the moderator is to establish contact with the viewer and to keep his attention while watching the news. Dialect of the Určice area. A Comparison of the Situation in the 1950s and Today

Ve své diplomové práci jsem se od počátku chtěla věnovat tématu nářečí. Původně jsem měla v úmyslu srovnávat současnou mluvu v Praze a v Prostějově. Jednalo by se tedy o srovnání obecné češtiny (interdialektu) a nářečí středomoravského (hanáckého). Později jsem však objevila knihu Františka Kopečného s názvem Nářečí Určic a okolí z roku 1957, která mě přivedla k myšlence srovnávat mluvu v Prostějově dříve a nyní. Určice se nacházejí blízko Prostějova a předpokládala jsem tedy, že by bylo možné srovnávat tato dvě místa - Určice dříve a Prostějov nyní. Dozvěděla jsem se však, že už v dobč vzniku knihy (1957) sc mluva ve městech v této oblasti (Prostějov, Olomouc, Vyškov, Boskovice) lišila od nářečí používaného v okolních obcích. Došla jsem tedy k závěru, že bude vhodnější srovnávat ne dvě místa (Prostějov a Určice), ale pouze mluvu v Určících, a to diachronně - porovnáním stavu v 50. letech minulého století a situace v současnosti. Pro 50. léta mi jako podklad sloužila výše zmíněná publikace F. Kopečného. Současnou situaci jsem zjišťovala pomocí nahrávek mluvy (MP3 záznamy rozhovorů s určickými respondenty) a pomocí dotazníků vyplněných žáky 8. a 9. třídy základní školy v Určících a také několika vyučujícími teto školy.

This Diploma paper entitled Education swimming techniques for first grade at elementary school is aimed at researching swimming teaching. The Objektive of this research study was to compare the teaching of individual swimming techniques for first grade compulsory swimming lessons at elementary schools throughtout Czech Republic. The Theoretical chapter characterizes swimming as it is and identifies basic swimming education. The Empirical part explains the process of the research. The final chapters summarize the results of the research. The Diploma paper is enclosed by a bibliography list and appendices.

Památky na Berounsku

Práce s názvem Památky na Berounsku se zabývá problematikou péče o historické objekty a jejich současným využitím. První kapitola seznamuje čtenáře s právní úpravou památkové péče a vymezuje základní pojmy. Druhá kapitola se věnuje historii regionu. Část třetí kapitoly upozorňuje na problematiku ohrožených a nevyužívaných památek. Její další část pak řeší otázku významu vyhlašování památkových zón. Cílem čtvrté kapitoly je vymezit nejvýznamnější památkové objekty v regionu, o jejichž způsobu využití, vlivu na regionální ekonomiku a financování pojednávají kapitoly pátá a šestá. Závěrečná kapitola obsahuje studii zámku v Nižboře. Cílem této práce je zjistit současný celkový stav vybraných kulturních památek na Berounsku a jejich vliv na regionální ekonomiku.
