Business process improvement
Vasyliev, Viktor ; Tichá, Ivana (advisor) ; Ladislav , Ladislav (referee)
This paper focuses on a timely topic, specifically management of processes and improvement of business processes. Czech economy has now fully accommodated to business in market conditions and Czech businesses are increasingly more integrated into the global economy. These conditions require increasing competitiveness of Czech companies and increasing the efficiency of administrative activity. In order for modern companies to succeed in the marketplace they must constantly focus on the improvement of their activities, and therefore it is important to keep developing new technologies, business methods, and improve the quality of the final products of the introduction of new effective methods of management and organization of businesses. Business processes are an integral part of every company and their improvement is an essential tool to increase competitiveness and proximity to the customer. The study of business processes allows to gain the necessary expertise in complex analysis and a detailed assessment of existing processes, finding optimal solutions that the managers and employees cannot see in their positions. Optimizing business processes supports us in having a clear idea of all the activities, objectives and final outcome of their activities. Only in case where the company will have a good analysis of the underlying business processes focused on a specific goal can the enterprise achieve improvements in all the necessary activities. Process analysis is a good method to answer the question what is necessary and sufficient to achieve the desired objectives. This thesis is focused on business processes and their improvement. The theoretical part elaborates on the process management and compares different approaches to making changes. The practical part focuses on the application of theoretical knowledge in a chosen company. Firstly it describes the analysis of the current situation and subsequently submits proposals for specific improvements.

Quality of Life as instrument of Balneotherapy effects evaluation made by patients suffering from Bechtěrev disease in Berta Health Spa in Třeboň
ZEMAN, Marek
This diploma work studies quality of life of patients suffering from Bechtěrev disease (Ankylosing Spondylitis), who had global four-weeks cure in Berta Health Spa in Třeboň from 1st January to 31st July 2006. Hypothesis says that six months after the end of balneotherapy the quality of life of these patients will be higher than before. For confirmation or confutation of this hypothesis there was used quantitative method of research, in form of adjusted questionnaire for detection of quality of Life by SEIQoL concept (Schedule for the Evaluation of Individual Quality of Life). By this measure respondents are allowed to nominate five areas of life (aims of life), which are most important, together with percentage rate of their satisfaction with each and the relative importance of each. Average life-quality index of the respondents before balneotharapy was 60,4 %, six months after the end of balneotharapy it was 62,7 %. Thus six months after the end of the cure the respondents have higher quality of life. Then there were mentioned and discussed differences in perception of quality of life of various age groups and of gender. There was also accomplished order of the most often mentioned aims of life, as well an analysis of ``health{\crqq} as alife aim was done. This diploma work could be used in cultural work and for improvement of informedness in problematic of life quality. But mainly, it could be perhaps taken as a little controversial report to the discussion about using of assorted exploratory concepts for evaluation of quality of life.

Perioperative prognostic factors in breast cancer
Černá, Monika ; Třeška, Vladislav (advisor) ; Gaťek, Jiří (referee) ; Šiller, Jiří (referee) ; Jandík, Pavel (referee)
Introduction: Breast cancer still remains the most common malignancy in women and its incidence is slowly increasing. A marked reduction of mortality has been achieved in the last 10 years thanks to modern diagnostic methods, mammary screening, and comprehensive and targeted cancer therapy. Modern diagnostic capabilities not only allow early diagnosis of a primary tumor lesion and precise determination of its biological nature before commencing treatment, but they also enable early diagnosis of local and regional recidives, including diagnosis of metastases in distant organs. In addition to clinical examination, conventional and complementary imaging examinations and tumor markers our objective was to determine the importance and use of growth factors in relation to the overall prognosis. The growth factors physiologically act already during the ontogenetic period when they control cell growth, proliferation, differentiation and apoptotic processes. It is known that they take part in the tumor growth processes which are characterized by autonomous behavior, increased proliferative activity, distinct differentiation activity and reduced apoptosis. Growth factors work as autoregulation factors in the neoplastic process as well as through their paracrine effects mediated by more or less specific receptors....

Raising claims in insolvency proceedings
Kadlec, David ; Zoulík, František (referee) ; Smolík, Petr (advisor)
Raising claims in insolvency proceedings Quality insolvency law of economic entities is in addition to civil and commercial law one of the pillars of a developed market economy. In case the insolvency law allows relatively simple application of claims and is a guarantee of the recovery of substantial amount, it can positively influence business environment as well as enhance legal certainty of legal relations. In this area, Czech Republic with its previous legislation represented by Act No. 328/1991 Coll., on Bankruptcy and Settlement despite its numerous amendments, lagged behind its neighboring countries like Slovak Republic e.g., where this rule has been replaced by Act No. 7 / 2005 Coll., on Bankruptcy and Restructuring already since July 1st 2005. Important change came with the Act No. 182/2006 Coll., on Insolvency and Methods of its Solution, which is a complex recodification effective from January 1st 2008. Besides the overall modernization its primary aim was to relieve the shortcomings of prior legal form that have been visible mainly in very weak position of creditors in the proceedings, its slowness and low level of satisfaction of creditors' claims. The effectiveness of the new rules and their targets have been largely achieved after almost two years. The influence of creditors asserting their...

Pseudo-coordination in the syntax of contemporary Czech
Škodová, Svatava ; Uličný, Oldřich (advisor) ; Hirschová, Milada (referee) ; Zikánová, Šárka (referee)
The purpose of this thesis is to address the diversity of coordinative constructions, illustrating their properties, and to pro vide a forma 1 account for them in the frame of the theoretical background of the dependency syntax. This thesis namely investigates three construction types in the syntax of contemporary Czech, aH ofwhich have in common a binary coordinative structure, using the Czech coordinator a (and), where two verbs are coordinated. These constructions are referred to as prototypical coordination (ProKoor), pseudo-coordination (PseKoor) and reduplicative coordination (ReKoor). The main claim is that even though these three types share the same surface structure (go )VlandV2 or Vl andVl, they do not represent the same phenomenon of coordination and it is necessary to divide them into three types, as proposed. I have proposed a two-part analysis. Firstly, PseKoor is analysed as a complex predicate formed on the level of syntax. This analysis immediately accounts for a number of properties of PseKoor which allows the comparison with ProKoor. Secondly, PseKoor is analysed as means of aktionsart, resp. as a variety coordination over substages of events. This also accounts for a number of characteristics of PseKoor, this time on the level of semantics. ln this way I also present criteria for...

Emission trading: evaluation of the European experience
Řízková, Markéta ; Ščasný, Milan (advisor) ; Urban, Luděk (referee)
Our aim is to show complex picture and highlight the most discussed features of the emission trading and especially the functioning of the European System of Emission Trading (EU ETS) as a representative of the biggest functioning emission trading system. The key approaches involved in our analysis are both theoretical and practical. In the theoretical section we compare emission trading and environmental taxes and we discuss when it is better to regulate by price and when by quantity instruments. We will discuss the possible allocation methods and especially method of auctioning as the most theoretically preferred allocation method. The practical approach will tackle following two aspects: how the emission allowances have been allocated within the EU ETS in Phase 1 and Phase 2 and what the planned changes are in post 2012. Finally, we will look at the results of allocation versus emission during the first trading period in years 2005-2007 and how it might look in the future in Phase 2 and beyond..

Split delivery vehicle routing problem
Marcinko, Tomáš ; Pelikán, Jan (advisor) ; Fábry, Jan (referee)
This thesis focuses on a description of the split delivery vehicle routing problem (SDVRP), in which the restriction that each customer has to be visited exactly once is not assumed, contrary to the classical vehicle routing problem, and split deliveries are allowed. Considering the fact that the split delivery vehicle routing problem in NP-hard, a number of heuristic algorithms proposed in the literature are presented. Computational experiments are reported and the results show that the largest benefits of split deliveries are obtained in case of instances with fairly specific characteristics and also several drawbacks of implemented Tabu Search algorithm (SPLITABU) are point out.

Grammatical evolution
Nohejl, Adam ; Iša, Jiří (referee) ; Mráz, František (advisor)
Grammatical evolution (GE) is a recent grammar-based approach to genetic programming that allows development of solutions in an arbitrary programming language. Its existing implementations lack documentation and do not provide reproducible results suitable for further analysis. This thesis summarises the methods of GE and the standard methods used in evolutionary algorithms, and reviews the existing implementations, foremost the only actively developed one, GEVA. A new comprehensive software framework for GE is designed and implemented based on this review. It is modular, well-documented, portable, and gives reproducible results. It has been tested in two benchmark applications, in which it showed competitive results and outperformed GEVA 10 to 29 times in computational time. It is also shown how to further improve the performance and results by using techniques unsupported by GEVA, including new modications to the previously published methods of bit-level mutation and "sensible" initialisation. The thesis and the software together form a solid foundation for further experiments and research.
