Improvement of the suction capacity of the fire-engine pump
Archalous, Jakub ; Habán, Vladimír (referee) ; Pochylý, František (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with reducing the time of sucking water into the rotating impeller of the centrifugal pump as used in firesport. The suction is carried out by the ejector, which is powered by combustion engine exhaust gases. A mathematical model was created, which shows the flow in the ejector. It was also used as a basis for the creation of a new ejector, which has an increased airflow when getting closer to atmospheric pressure.

Design of a space and DHW heating system for a detached dwelling
Záboj, Jakub ; Pech, Ondřej (referee) ; Charvát, Pavel (advisor)
The thesis aims to propose a system for heating and hot water for a family house, according to drawings supplied by the building architect. At the request of the investor as the primary object will be considered a variant of underfloor heating. For comparing the heat loss, economic and possibly to State subsidies system selected will be processed by an alternative option to the ventilation air heating. Underfloor heating and hot air are among the low-temperature heating system, which can use low temperature heat sources, such as heat pumps. This assumption corresponds to investor requests, the source of heat in a family house with a heat pump and gas boiler. For hot water will be used as an alternative to a fireplace in the living room. To use the results of the thesis is to calculate the heat loss and heat, according to current standards include design and hot-water heating system including hot-drawing documentation. Finally, the economic evaluation of different alternatives in terms of investment and operating costs.

Monitoring of the fish stock in Bolevecký ponds in 2016.
Jůza, Tomáš
In spring 2016, the fish stock of Bolevecký ponds in Plzeň was monitored using electrofishing boat. Strong reduction of population of unwanted species was performed during last decade for the purpose of improving of the water quality. Monitoring showed relatively low densities of unwanted fish species and relatively large amount of predatory fish in both ponds. The convenient ratio of unwanted and predatory fish species is one of the basic factor for high water quality in the future.

Management balastní vody – aktuální vývoj a ekonomický vliv přijímaných opatření na trh námořní přepravy
Pavlíčková, Veronika ; Kolář, Petr (advisor) ; Rožek, Petr (referee)
This master thesis deals with the very current topic of ballast water management, a very specific field in the maritime shipping industry. The aim of the thesis is to introduce the subject clearly and to sum up the main issues which restrain a smooth implementation of new regulations that emerged from a recently adopted international treaty. This treaty, the so-called Ballast Water Management Convention, will possibly have immediate impact on the seafreight market rates and thus on the entire international trade. So purpose of this thesis is to estimate what the result might be like.

The fluorescence assay of aminopeptidase activity as an alterantive indicator of water quality?
Vrba, Jaroslav ; Svoboda, J. ; Fuksa, J. K.
Recent water quality/pollution control uses standard chemical, biological or microbiological indicators that provide information on water status with a delay of several days. Though they characterise direct impact of released compounds on water quality in a recipient, they do not well reflect consequent reaction of the ecosystem on increased pollution. Following the Water Framework Directive 2000/60/EC we focused on such alternative microbial indicators that would allow for instant evaluation of ecological status of running waters and ongoing in-stream processes. Recently, activities of different extracellular enzymes have been suggested as indicators of both trophic status of lakes and organic or faecal pollution of streams. This contribution evaluates an indication potential of the extracellular aminopeptidase assay.

Flow in the nozzle with moving wall
Foldyna, Josef ; Říha, Zdeněk ; Sitek, Libor
The paper presents simulation of 3D, unsteady, turbulent flow of water in the high-pressure nozzle device with moving wall. The wall performs rectilinear reciprocating motion with high frequency and very small amplitude that results in generation of very high velocity pulsations at the nozzle outlet. The pulsations lead to the break-up of continuous jet into regular slugs of water. The objective of the simulation was to verify whether dynamic meshes can be used to simulate above mentioned problem and satisfactory agreement of the simulation and reality can be obtained.

Recovery of Energy from Municipal Wastes
Procházka, Jaroslav ; Bébar, Ladislav (referee) ; Jícha, Jaroslav (advisor)
Master’s thesis deal with the design of waste to energy plant of municipal waste. The design of technology is to build the component parts of plant and basic calculation of individual apparatus. Overall technology concists of pretreatment of municipal waste, which is then stored in the bunker. Pretreatment municipal waste is fed into the counterflow rotary kiln. Flue Gates from the kilns are routed through multicyklony in the heat recovery steam generators (HRSG). The multicyklon separates the pollutants. The HRSG generates steam required properties from the feedwater from the heat kontent of gas. Superheated steam is driven to the condensing turbine with extract steam for distrikt rating and for power generation. The flue gas from the HRSG are passed through purification section, in which are separand pollutants the dry method purification. The left heat content of flue gas is used in heat exchanger with twist tube for preheating feed water for the HRSG. The flue gas are fed to the stack.

Hygienizační účinky impulsních korónových výbojů ve vodním prostředí
Vykouk, T. ; Člupek, Martin ; Lukeš, Petr
In recent years, several types of reactors (point-plate, composite wire-cylinder, diaphragm-cylinder) to generate pulsed corona discharges in water have been developed at the Institute of Plasma Physics of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. Plasmochemical effects of these discharges on removal of organic pollutants from aqueous solutions have been studied. The effects of corona discharges on microorganisms in water are investigated in cooperation with the Department of Water Technology and Environmental Engineering of the Institute of Chemical Technology, Prague. In this work the results of the effects of corona discharge in water generated in pinhole reactor on viability of aqueous suspensions of algae Chlorella vulgaris, Desmodesmus qudricauda, bacterial culture of Enterococcus faecalis, and the mixture of thermophilic bacterias in activated sludge from biological wastewater treatment plant, are presented.

Dvou-strukturní model termodynamických vlastností a povrchového napětí podchlazené vody
Hrubý, Jan ; Holten, V.
A thermodynamic model was developed describing the liquid and gaseous phases of water. The model correctly represents the strong anomalous behavior of supercooled water. The anomalies are due to the vicinity of liquid-liquid critical point. The model approximates liquid water as a mixture of two competing structures (high- and low-density structure) and cavities. The thermodynamic state is found by minimizing the Gibbs free energy with respect to the proportion of the two structures and number of cavities. The mixture approach is further used to model the surface tension.
