Use of physical restrains at psychiatric and somatic departments.
DOHNALOVÁ, Hana
Nursing care of restless and aggressive patients, despite the unstoppable progress, can hardly do without the use of restrictive measures in all cases. In order to provide quality nursing care and to ensure the patient´s safety even with the application of restrictive measures, it is necessary to determine the level of professional quality, or the introduction of nursing standards at all wards where restrictive measures are used. The aim of this thesis was to verify if the restrictive measures in psychiatric inpatient units and inpatient wards of other medical disciplines are being used in accordance with the standard of nursing care of patients who are restrained in bed, and analyze the current standards of nursing care determining the use of restrictive measures. Another objective was to find out nurses´ attitudes to application of restrictive measures and to survey their feelings while applying restrictive measures. On the base of the objectives hypotheses were formulated with regard to data in literature and my own clinical practice, which also includes the use of restrictive measures. The nursing research was conducted through a questionnaire at the wards where restrictive measures are applied. The respondents were nurses working in these units. The results provided clear evidence that not only worldwide, throughout Europe, but also within medical facilities of the Czech Republic, the care of psychiatric patients is inconsistent in terms of restrictive measures, and therefore, standardization of this care is highly desirable. A component part of this thesis is the created Standard of nursing care for application of restrictive measures in medical inpatient facilities, which will be used in practice in České Budějovice Hospital, Inc.

Acceptance of applicants for Home for elderly people by social services law
SAMCOVÁ, Monika
Not a single senior went to the home for the elderly because he or she did not want to be a nuisance for his or her children or other relatives, or at the time of putting in application he or she wanted to be sure of not staying without help, or he or she was not capable of looking after his or her farmstead or covering the costs of a large flat. The inhabitants accredit the primary responsibility for the care of the elderly to the state; it is a stereotype in thinking of most of us: I am old or ill/you are old or ill and I need/you need help, I will go/you will go to the home for the elderly. In the introduction part I deal with the problems of the old age. I describe the ageing as a progressing line of changes in a human from both the biological and psychological aspects. The number of ageing and old people in the world is increasing. These people need help. The Act No.108/2006 Coll. On Social Services, as amended, ensures the fundamental frame of the help needed. The thesis is especially focused on the provision of help in social institutions, homes for the elderly. The objective of the research was to find out about the conditions of admissions to the homes for the elderly. The chosen methodology was non-standardized dialogue with the workers of social departments of selected homes for the elderly and the secondary analyses of the data gained from the web pages of the institutions. It was found out that the age of the institutions residents is increasing. The average age of the residents of all homes for the elderly is 80.5 years. The need and dependence on the help of other person is increasing with the age. Owing to the ageing of population the number of rejected applications to the homes for the elderly is massively increasing. I suppose that the number of applicants could decrease by the coverage of sufficient number of quality terrain services.

Situation of children in the Charlotta Masaryk children´s home and their departure into foster family care
JALOVCOVÁ, Klára
The substitute educational care embraces all kinds of a substitute family for children without own functioning family background. There are two forms - the institutional and the family one. In my bachelor thesis I focused on issues relating to children from the Charlotta Masaryk´s Children Care Home and their departure to substitute family care. This medical facility has a relatively small capacity and is intended for children from one to three years of age. In accordance with the set goals, I divided the practical part into two sections. The first goal was to ascertain social, health and legal situation of children with ordered institutional upbringing, who were placed in the Charlotta Masaryk´s Children Care Home in the years of 2005 to 2008. The other goal was to map the situation of children with the ordered institutional upbringing, who departed from the Charlotta Masaryk´s Children Care Home to the substitute family care. Both goals were fulfilled. In order to fulfil the goals, a quantitative research method was used, i.e. the secondary data analysis technique. The following hypotheses were set: Hypothesis 1 - The most frequent reason for placing children in the children´s care home are social and health reasons Hypothesis 2 - the majority of children come to the children´s family home in a bad health condition. Hypothesis 3 - the majority of children from the children´s family home are in contact with their biological family Hypothesis 4 - Children placed in the substitute family care leave most frequently to the foster care. The hypothesis 2 was not confirmed, while the other hypotheses proved correct. It follows from the results of the hypothesis 1, that children come to the children care home most often out of social and health reasons, there are few purely health reasons. This is connected with the hypothesis 2, which was not confirmed. That is, the majority of children come to the children care home in a good health condition. The predominant majority of children come to the children care home from a family and stay in contact with them (hypothesis 3). Children most often return to their family; in the event that they leave to the substitute family care, then the foster care prevails over adoption (hypothesis 4). The results of work will be used for the purposes of Charlotta Masaryk´s Children Care Home and also for social workers, so that they can get an overview of the situation in the facility in question.

Impact of digital imaging on practical work of radiographer
MAREK, David
The submitted bachelor{\crq}s paper deals with the impact of digital imaging on the practical activity of a radiological assistant. In 2006, I participated in a professional seminar held by the AURA-GROUP company, which focused on digitalization of modalities in the health service. This topic seemed to be so interesting for me that I decided to find out what their experience were and what the comparison of the analogue and digital imaging would be like from the point of view of assistants working in practice and to find out more about requirements concerning a radiological assistant{\crq}s work both under the analogue and under the digital operation. In the theoretical section, the principle of X-rays is provided together with a small excursion into the history and the method of analogue and digital imaging and current methods of archiving as well. In this section, the current state of radiology is surveyed and the principles of the individual methods, their advantages and disadvantages together with future prospective are described here as well. In the practical section, I decided to verify the hypothesis that the digital imaging is more valuable in practice that the analogue one. Within the framework of quantitative methodology, the method of fact-finding through questionnaire was used. This questionnaire was presented to employees of radiological departments and the results were subsequently statistically processed and evaluated. The research sample was set up from employees working in the radiological departments in the hospitals in České Budějovice and Český Krumlov. For the purposes of this research, I made no difference as far as the individual age categories or educational background or any other criteria are concerned. This means that this selection was not limited in any way and it has, in my opinion, sufficient support both from the theory and practice and thus it has a sufficient testifying value with respect to the knowledge and experience of the radiological assistants subject to the research. The results of this work confirmed the respective hypothesis and it was demonstrated that digitalization has positive impact on practical activity of a radiological assistant for the purpose of post-processing adjustments, X-ray images archiving using the PACS system, and the fact that there is no need of the so-called wet process is particularly beneficial as well. In the summary, we should also see economic advantages, as they are one of The most important criteria for development of new methods of activities in the field of health care at the present time. The fact that the digital method of imaging saves costs relating to films, chemical substances, archiving capacities (rooms and staff) brings substantial savings, which may be utilized for example for the purchase of technologically advanced equipment.

Legal Analysis of the Process of Children's Nursery School Enrolment

TITLE: Legal Analysis of the Process of Children's Nursery School Enrolment AUTHOR: Jaroslava Oplová DEPARTMENT: The Centre of School Management SUPERVISOR: RNDr. Jindřich Kitzberger ABSTRACT: The paper work deals with individual operations in the process of admitting children to the nursery schools, following primarily the Education Law and Civil Service Rules. The legal frame of administration authority actions such as contained in the Civil Service Rules is rational, however very extensive. A thorough knowledge of additional related legal regulations is necessary to observe legitimacy in the course of entire administrative procedure. The admission standards become significantly involved, according to which the ranking of applicants is determined. After passing the Law No.49/2009, which altered the Law No. 561/2004 of Statute Book on preschool, elementary, secondary, college and other education (Education Law), in reading of later regulations, discrepancies in legal provisions of Education Law in the decision-making field concerning also preschool education have happened, as the decision-making in admission to nursery schools was removed from the scope of the Civil Service Rules. Even the expectations concerning implementation of the principles for admission process to preschool education into the...

Sinokorean lexicon in modern Korean
Mazaná, Vladislava ; Horák, Tomáš (advisor) ; Glomb, Vladimír (referee)
1 TITLE: Sino-Korean Lexicon in Modern Korean AUTHOR: Vladislava Mazana DEPARTMENT: Institute of East Asian Studies SUPERVISOR: Mgr. Tomáš Horák, Ph.D. ABSTRACT: This diploma paper is focused on morphological aspects of the Sino-Korean lexicon in modern Korean, the main topics are Sino-Korean word-formation and Sino-Korean classification of parts of speech. Hereby considered are the typological differences between Korean, an agglutinative language and Chinese, an isolative-polysyntetic language. The problem with Sino-Korean words is their ambiguity and vagueness, they appear in various grammatical and syntactical functions with their form unchanged. One morpheme can simultaneously function as an affix and root. This paper analyzes forms of function units, it deals with ways of word-formation (composition and derivation). The ways of prefixation and suffixation are researched. Based on the results of this analysis an adequate classification of Sino-Korean parts of speech is aimed to be established. Both the original Korean and the Chinese systems of parts of speech are taken into account but neither of them corresponds with the characterics and functions of the Sino-Korean words. Considering the multifunctional character of Sino-Korean morphemes it is extremely difficult to classify the words into parts of...

Gen expresion of high affinity choline transporter in mouse model of Alzheimer's disease
Kurfürst, Helena ; Krištofíková, Zdena (referee) ; Doležal, Vladimír (advisor)
: Choline is being used in all mammalian cells as a precursor for synthesis of a major phospholipide phosphatidylcholine and as a donor of acetyl residues. Cholinergic neurons in addition require choline to synthesize neuromediator acetylcholine. The ability of cells to create choline via de novo synthesis is limited and therefore they need to transport choline from extracellular space. Limited availability of choline in brain leads specifically to diminished function of cholinergic neurons and in general to impaired reparation of biological membranes. Dysfunctions of cholinergic signaling in brain is characteristic for Alzheimer's disease. Aim of this work was to investigate whether gene and protein expression of high- affinity cholinergic transporters is altered in 5-6 months old APPswe/PS1dE9 mouse model of Alzheimer's disease. Expression of specific high-affinity cholinergic transporter CHT1 (responsible for transport of choline to be used for acetylcholine synthesis) and putative high-afinity choline transporter CTL1 (generally present in all cells and related to high affinity choline transport for phospholipide synthesis) in cerebral cortex was measured. Compared to non-trangenic littermates, no changes in the expression of both genes were detected at either mRNA (quantitative PCR) or protein...

Combinatorial Games Theory

Title: Combinatorial Games Theory Author: Tomáš Valla Department / Institute: IUUK MFF UK Supervisor: Prof. RNDr. Jaroslav Nešetřil, DrSc., IUUK MFF UK Abstract: In this thesis we study the complexity that appears when we consider the competitive version of a certain environment or process, using mainly the tools of al- gorithmic game theory, complexity theory, and others. For example, in the Internet environment, one cannot apply any classical graph algorithm on the graph of connected computers, because it usually requires existence of a central authority, that manipu- lates with the graph. We describe a local and distributed game, that in a competitive environment without a central authority simulates the computation of the weighted vertex cover, together with generalisation to hitting set and submodular weight func- tion. We prove that this game always has a Nash equilibrium and each equilibrium yields the same approximation of optimal cover, that is achieved by the best known ap- proximation algorithms. More precisely, the Price of Anarchy of our game is the same as the best known approximation ratio for this problem. All previous results in this field do not have the Price of Anarchy bounded by a constant. Moreover, we include the results in two more fields, related to the complexity of competitive...

Visitors' care - advantages and disadvantages
Vávrová, Tereza ; Procházková, Jana (advisor) ; Sotáková, Hana (referee)
The baccalaureate report is focused on a new developing type of adoption and foster care - visitors' care. In theoretic part visitors' care is introduced as a one of the possibilities how to let children from children's home know family life and function of common family. In this part, there are named reasons of taking children away from their own biological family and the ways of working with those children. Visitors' care is introduced in the system adoption and foster care. Then the report treats about what conditions on an applicant of visitors' care are and what children can be included in this type of care and moreover, how should this care be realized. Because this report is concerned on possibilities of satisfying of psychological needs at visitors' care and advantages and disadvantages which visitors' care brings, one of the chapters is focused on theory of the basic psychological needs by Matějček and Langmeier. Practical part concerned on three sights on visitors' care and its evaluation including mentioned aspects. Those three sights come from interviews conducted with directors of children's homes and workers of Department of Social and Legal Protection of Children; and from questionnaires filled in by the visitors. Apart of evaluation of positives, risks and possibilities of...

The local societies in Benešov in the interwar period
Malá, Lenka ; Křesťan, Jiří (referee) ; Šouša, Jiří (advisor)
During the so called First Republic local societies were integral part of life of most of the citizens. An active participation in their work determined and, at the same time, reflected social position of a concrete person. That was also the case of interwar Benešov. More than hundred of different societies and groups worked in the town, covering all areas of people's activity. They were led by town's elite and it was absolutely common that its important personalities were involved in a number of the local societies at the same time. Especially membership in the Gymnastic Union Sokol, whose branch was also active in Benešov, was very prestigious. Along with sport and support of national idea it looked after an education of their members and contributed to a cultural life of the town; it set up its own library and a theatre department as well as it ran a cinema in the local Sokol house. The same supraregional overlap had the Municipal volunteer fire brigade in Benešov. Its creation and functioning were led by practical reasons, but its sphere of activity wasn't limited only on fire extinguishing in the town and its neighbourhood. The fire fighters regularly cooperated with other fire squads in the republic, took part in various celebrations and meetings as well as in cultural life in Benešov, though, in this...
