Nejeden senior odešel do domova pro seniory právě proto, že nechtěl být na obtíž svým dětem či vzdálenějším příbuzným, nebo chtěl mít v době podání žádosti o umístění jen jistotu, že nezůstane bez pomoci, nebo se již např. nebyl schopen postarat o své hospodářství nebo finančně pokrýt náklady na velký byt. Občané přičítají státu primární odpovědnost za péči o staré lidi, a jednak jde o určitý stereotyp v uvažování většiny z nás {--} jsem/jsi starý, nemocný a potřebuji/potřebuješ pomoc, půjdu/půjdeš do domova. V úvodní části se zabývám problematikou stáří. Popisuji stárnutí jako postupující řadu změn u člověka nejen ze stránky biologické, ale i psychologické. Stárnoucích a starých lidí na celém světě přibývá. Tito lidé potřebují pomoc. Zákon č. 108/2006 Sb., o sociálních službách, v platném znění, zabezpečuje základní rámec k zajištění potřebné pomoci. Práce je zaměřena zejména na poskytování pomoci v pobytových sociálních zařízeních, v domovech pro seniory. Cílem výzkumu bylo zjistit podmínky pro přijetí žadatelů do domovů pro seniory. Zvolenou metodikou výzkumu pro naplnění cíle bylo použito standardizovaného rozhovoru s pracovníky sociálních oddělení zkoumaných domovů pro seniory a techniky sekundární analýzy dat získaných z webových stránek zařízení. Zpracováním dat bylo zjištěno, že se věk obyvatel v zařízení zvyšuje. Průměrné věkové složení obyvatel všech zkoumaných domovů činí 80,5 roku. Potřebnost a závislost na pomoci druhé osoby se zvyšuje s přibývajícím věkem. Vzhledem ke stárnutí populace masivně narůstá počet neuspokojených žádostí o přijetí do domovů pro seniory. Domnívám se, že počet žadatelů o umístění by se mohl snížit pokrytím dostatečného počtu kvalitních terénních sociálních služeb. Not a single senior went to the home for the elderly because he or she did not want to be a nuisance for his or her children or other relatives, or at the time of putting in application he or she wanted to be sure of not staying without help, or he or she was not capable of looking after his or her farmstead or covering the costs of a large flat. The inhabitants accredit the primary responsibility for the care of the elderly to the state; it is a stereotype in thinking of most of us: I am old or ill/you are old or ill and I need/you need help, I will go/you will go to the home for the elderly. In the introduction part I deal with the problems of the old age. I describe the ageing as a progressing line of changes in a human from both the biological and psychological aspects. The number of ageing and old people in the world is increasing. These people need help. The Act No.108/2006 Coll. On Social Services, as amended, ensures the fundamental frame of the help needed. The thesis is especially focused on the provision of help in social institutions, homes for the elderly. The objective of the research was to find out about the conditions of admissions to the homes for the elderly. The chosen methodology was non-standardized dialogue with the workers of social departments of selected homes for the elderly and the secondary analyses of the data gained from the web pages of the institutions. It was found out that the age of the institutions residents is increasing. The average age of the residents of all homes for the elderly is 80.5 years. The need and dependence on the help of other person is increasing with the age. Owing to the ageing of population the number of rejected applications to the homes for the elderly is massively increasing. I suppose that the number of applicants could decrease by the coverage of sufficient number of quality terrain services.
