Borna disease virus (BDV), circulating immunocomplex (CIC) detection in the serum of psychiatric patients
Racková, Sylva ; Beran, Jiří (advisor) ; Anders, Martin (referee) ; Sedláček, Dalibor (referee)
The aim of our study was the detection of BDV CIC positivity in psychiatric patients (with affective disorders, psychosis and addiction) hospitalized in the Psychiatric department of Faculty Hospital in Pilsen. Three groups of psychiatric patients were examined (included). BDV CIC positivity was detected in 26.1% of the first group of psychiatric patients, in 48% on day 0, in 53.85% on day 28 and in 52.94% on day 56. The differences between the two groups of psychiatric patients with affective and psychotic disorders could be connected with the different period of blood sampling. We demonstrated a significantly higher BDV CIC positivity in psychiatric patients in comparison with a control group of blood donors. We demonstrated the connection between BDV infection and psychopathology. We confirmed the results of German studies. There is no difference in BDV CIC positivity in addicted patients and healthy individuals. We did not find a decrease of BDV positivity during an abstinence period. We suppose BDV infection can influence the etiology and course of psychiatric patients.

Potential of shale gas for EU
Kloz, Ondřej ; Ježek, Tomáš (advisor) ; Štípek, Vladimír (referee)
This diploma thesis determines potential benefit of shale gas and its influence on price of gas on European market. For this purpose was chosen two variants, which have the best chance to decrease price of gas on European market. The first variant is extraction of shale gas directly in Europe. The size of deposits and cost estimates indicates the biggest potential from both variants. Possible extraction could be able to decrease significantly price of gas on European market. Nevertheless the present attitude of Europe to extraction can limit this potential. The second variant is import of LNG, which have already helped to decrease price of gas significantly in many European countries. Nevertheless its possible influence on price decline of gas is limited. Expenditures connected with LNG prevent to greater price decline on the possible level of extraction. Moreover Europe has to face to great competition from Asia, where considerable part of gas supply move to. Final benefit of LNG will depend mostly on the size of available supply.

Vaňková, Jana ; Otáhal, Stanislav (advisor) ; Dudová, Agnieszka (referee)
Title Biomechanics of whiplash injury and its influence on cervical spine structures Objectives: Objective of the work is charting of studies examining mechanism and course whiplash event, its influence on osseous and arthral textures, intervertebral discus, ligaments, neural textures, cerebro-spinal fluid and vertebral artery. In summary form mention possibilities of prevention in terms ofconstruction car. Method: Diploma work is processed in the form of commented literary background research. Results: Confrontation of individua! works brought definite results, respecting kinematics cervical spine at rear impact. Most ofin vivo and in vitro studies confirmed clear two-phase answer. Immediately after stroke (50 - 110 msec) cervical spine is forming S-form deformation with flection UCS and extension LCS, whereas it is extension with abnormal JAR. Whole spine is loaded by compression at this time. The second period is C-form deformation with extension whole cervical spine. Risk of structures injury is the highest in S- stage. The most often it is localized in LCS, and it is in intervertebral joints including capsular ligaments, intervertebral discus and anterior longitudinale ligament. There are threatened also neural textures, both influence oftension force applied to UCS, and pressurized gradient...
