Experience with online teaching at lower secondary school

The work deals with the experience of online teaching at the lower secondary school in the English language subject. This is a qualitative research investigation carried out by semi- structured interviews with English language teachers. The work contains authentic testimonies of respondents, experiences and their experience of distance learning in the autumn and winter of 2020. It presents profiles of individual respondents with their quotes. It also discusses the resulting topics such as online teaching in the general sense, where it describes what online teaching means to teachers as a concept, what they imagine underneath, etc. It lists the main circumstances that may have influenced online teaching, from a teacher's point of view. The work is provided with a theoretical framework that mainly approximates the role of communication in online teaching, the motivation of pupils to learn and also presents the results of other research investigations already carried out into distance learning. The main research questions are: how teachers experienced online teaching; what positive and negative aspects were brought about by online teaching in the eyes of teachers; what behavioural or attitude changes were shown by pupils in the online environment in the eyes of the teacher. The diploma thesis deals with teaching mapping skills and geographical fieldwork using maps and modern navigation technologies on the 2nd grade of the primary school. The main goal of the thesis is to make learning activities and worksheets for teaching Geography in the 6th grade. The theoretical part deals with setting the topic into the Framework Educational Programme for Primary Education and teaching of mapping skills and geographical fieldwork on the 2nd grade of the primary school. The practical part includes evaluation of textbooks of Geography with authorising clause of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports valid in 2019. Finally, the practical part offers learning activities dealing with teaching mapping skills and geographical fieldwork.

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of natural hazards in POU Pribyslav and creating new suggestions of using the topic of the thesis in the geography lessons on the 2nd grade of primary school. The theoretical part deals with introducing the basic terminology. Then the analysis of maps and a legwork took place. The next part of the thesis summarizes the gained information characterizing the geographic conditions of the region with respect to its environment and geohazards. The practical part of the thesis deals with creating author's own activities for the geography lessons on the 2nd grade of the primary school. These activities are based on the issue given in the thesis. They should be used mainly for teaching the topic of Environment (as given in the Framework Education Programme for Primary Education).

This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of regional geography of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in the second degree of basic school. The main goal was to find out how the approach to teaching of regional geography of the United Kingdom varies in Grammar school in Sedlčany and basic school in Kosova Hora. Another goal was to find out how much pupils know about the topic. Theoretical part deals with a role of the thesis in curricular documents valid in the Czech Republic such as Framework Educational Program, School Educational Program, Thematic Plans and selected Geography and English language textbooks. One part of the thesis is dedicated to didactic analysis of these textbooks. Pilot survey for pupils of tercie at Grammar school Sedlčany and 8th grade of Basic school in Kosova Hora was based on perused materials and visits of school lessons. According to the results of the survey were prepeared ideas for educational activities which can be used in Geography and English lessons. These activities can be processed more in diploma thesis.
Learning Difficulties and Foreign Language Teaching - Lower Secondary Schools

This diploma thesis focuses on foreign language teaching to children with specific learning difficulties (LD) at Czech lower secondary schools. It aims to define learning difficulties and describe their causes and manifestations in developing individual foreign language skills and sub-skills. Moreover, the work with these children in the school environment is mentioned and the Czech system of educating them is compared to the French one. The practical part surveys the opinions of foreign language teachers on this subject and analyses the techniques they use with these pupils. Special attention is paid to the differences in the approach of teachers at schools with classes specialized in the tuition of children with LD, schools with extensive language teaching and schools with no specialization. The results indicate that the majority of teachers agree with the integration of pupils with LD into mainstream schools and they favour their exemption from second foreign language study. The individual types of schools differ mainly in the approach towards the presentation of new grammar, in the types of exercises used for the development of communication skills and in the forms of testing and evaluation. Drama in the Didactics of Literary Education at the Upper Primary School

The presented dissertation deals with education of drama in literary lessons on the second grade of primary schools. The theoretic part is dedicated to the definition of literary and dramatic education, what their goals in education are in general and how to achieve these goals. Secondly, it describes drama, its elements and history. The second part is practical. We focus on reading-books and how the discussed topic is reflected in them. We present the "By Reading and Writing to Critical Thinking" programme methods which we then use in concrete preparations for lessons. We afterwards evaluate these lessons based on the extent to which the lessons were successful within the education itself.
Development of the reader in sixth to nineth grades: basic reading strategies

The work deals with the development of readers at second stage of elementary schools with focus to basic reading strategies. Clarifies the concepts of functional literacy Reading literacy. Based on the international research PISA and PIRLS examines the state of reading Czech pupils. It monitors what is the representation of reading strategies in RVP ZV and looks at some of the group of textbooks if promote reading and encourage the use of strategies. The work examines what is the basic readership strategies, what is their application in teaching, what require this lesson for teacher and what are the possible pitfalls. Theoretical knowledge is verified by modeled lessons designed by tutorial course.
The Role of Media in Eeveryday Life of Contemporary Early Teenagers

This bachelor thesis investigates the influence of media communication channels on students in elementary schools, mainly from the point of view how the media influence is perceived by the students themselves. In the introductory part the thesis presents key theoretical findings from selected literature related to the chosen theme and the paradigms issuing from theoretical research, mainly in the field of television broadcasting impact on the selected age category and on its capacity to notice the media impact by itself. In order to set the theme in the appropriate context the paper also introduces specialized terms, theories on the media impact and an overview of the current level of media education in families and schools. The empirical segment, which is the main part of this thesis, explains in thorough detail the preparation, execution and outcome of the research questionnaire applied on two Prague elementary schools. The questionnaire was applied on students from the 5th to the 9th grade. The quantitative research measurement, which was calibrated to confirm or infirm the research hypotheses, often confirms the previous theoretical findings and results of earlier research by quoted specialists. Reading strategies in language arts lessons in grades 6-9

The main goal of this dissertation is finding out, which reading skills should be developed by students of middle school, and by which methods, strategies, forms of class organisation, teaching aids and teaching procedures can be reading skills developed in five teaching lessons. The dissertation uses comparative method for finding skills for progress and application method in preparations, which will verify theoretical knowledge about efficiency of methods for progress of reading strategies and skills and described strategies for progress skills in practise. The research was oriented to skills from research PISA, specifically to inferying, information searching and appraisal of text. In five teaching lessons was developed inferying by strategy clarifying. Mild progress was noticed by information searching, which was developed by strategy identification of importance. By students was not developed appraisal of text by strategy of evaluation. To the main reasons of mild or any progress were also the methods. To the least efficient methods belonged I.N.S.E.R.T., which is oriented to information searching, and DRTA, which is oriented to appraisal of text.
