Crude Oil World Market - Current Trends and Prices Development
Talian, Peter ; Vošta, Milan (advisor) ; Neumann, Pavel (referee)
The crude oil phenomenon has always been a big issue and the current situation does not prove different. Crude oil as a commodity is indisputably considered as one of the most utilized energy source as well as production input which enters into economic processes in the vast majority of countries over the world. The aim of this masters thesis is to provide a detailed description and analysis of the crude oil world market. Furthermore it not only gives a characteristics of the commodity and its energy use it also defines the market and its participants crude oil pricing crude oil trading and it also provides an analysis of the world oil demand as well as supply. The purpose of this masters thesis is among other to thoroughly analyze the crude oil prices development and introduce the contemporary trends present on the market. In the latter part of this thesis there will be a crude oil prices time series modelled and probable future price direction outlined. Moreover the thesis will reflect on the current oil prices drop with its possible effect on world economy.

Levdansky, V.V. ; Smolík, Jiří ; Moravec, Pavel
The size effects in coalescence of nanoparticles related to the influence of the particle size on the surface tension, the activation energy for diffusion of atoms in particles and the sticking probability of particles were considered.

Comments on failure probability of steel structures due to plastic reversals in case of earthquake
Marek, Pavel ; Václavek, L.
The Evaluation of steel structures damaged by earthquakes in the last decade has contributed considerably to the improvement of the design of structures and especially details relating to their ductility and to the dissipation of energy. An analysis of research results led to significant corrections of codes guidelines and instructions

Financing the Revitalizing of an Apartment House
Gebauerová, Dana ; Medek, Zdeněk (referee) ; Zeman, Václav (advisor)
Diploma thesis deals with revitalization issues of prefabricated house. The aim of the work evaluate the effectiveness of revitalization and presentation proposal of the best variant in terms of investment and energy savings. In the theoretical part is explained revitalization issues, problems of prefabricated houses, phase of the modernization and financing. Practical part is focused to specific revitalization of the prefabricated house, analysis of financial bids of banks and use of subsidies, analysis of energy audits. On the basis of the analysis is determined the optimal variant of the revitalization.

Využití odpadů na pile v Prusinovicích
Měrka, Tadeáš
This work compares the possibilities of use of wastes and proposes a method of its use, suitable for the conditions of the sawmill in Prusinovice. It based on from the total volume and ranges of processed material with representation individual ranges produced lumber, technological flow of production and achieved yield. It focuses on all types of wastes generated during the production, their place of origin, volumes, character, features and usability. At the same time focuses on the species of timber drying kilns, a range of sizes and types of dried lumber and its input and needed output moisture. It sets the average consumption of heat per unit volume of dry timber for its main product and for the type of drying kilns, the heat consumption for heating buildings of plant and the amount of heat that can be obtained by incineration of wastes. It sets options cover the energy needs of the plant and the possibilities of sale or buying individual types of waste, including the treatment. The work proposes alternatives of use of sawmill wastes for heating and drying timber in the sawmill in Prusinovice, evaluates and recommends optimal variant.

Nuclear energy in the Czech Republic
Bosáková, Lenka ; Vostrovská, Zdenka (advisor) ; Antoš, Ondřej (referee)
This thesis deals with the topic of nuclear energy. The Czech Republic is currently a net electricity exporter however this status will probably change in next few years because of growing electricity consumption and decommissioning of obsolete coal-fired power plants. Moreover, contemporary government declared that it won't approve any construction of new reactors stressing the importance of renewable sources of energy (in spite of their limited potential in the Czech Republic). The goal of this thesis is to answer the question whether nuclear energy can compete with other sources of energy and whether is it possible to satisfy growing electricity consumption under the conditions of the Czech Republic by any other source of electricity besides nuclear energy taking into account environmental aspects.

Utilization of biomass energy
Horváth, Martin ; Bok, Jaromír (referee) ; Procházka, Zdeněk (advisor)
Restoring sources of a energy and their development brings questions how these can be these sources the best utilized. The main aim of my bachelor`s thesis is an acquainted with methods of biomass conversion to energetic potential and his advantage. Than is mentioned proper project of the biogas plant and calculation of produced electric energy quantity in select cogeneration unit base on data on specific excrements production bred pigs and biogas production from slurry. The result is a variant evaluation of economy of the biogas plant operation for agricultural enterprise according to number of bred pigs and possibility of electric energy utilization.

Prague Gambit at the Global Chessboard - Analysis of the Steps of the Czech Presidency in the "New Great Game" for Energy Resources of the Central Asia Carried Out with Help of the Mathematical Model
Michálek, Petr ; Rovná, Lenka (advisor) ; NÁHRADNÍ, OPONENT (referee)
Diploma thesis "Prague gambit at the global chessboard - Analysis of the steps of the Czech presidency in the "New Great Game" for energy resources of the Central Asia " carried out with help of the mathematic model" deals with the activities of the Czech Presidency in the Council of the European Union focused on diversification of the European energy supplies through the socalled Southern Corridor. The main goal of the thesis is to answer the question, how the Czech presidency succeeded in increasing the probability of realizing the diversification projects within the Southern Corridor. For this purposes, the mathematical model describing the interaction among the global powers has been created. This model has been subsequently applied to the competing of the European Union and the Russian Federation for the Central Asian producer countries and the South Caucasus transit countries.

Expected height of binary search trees
Langhammer, Martin ; Koubková, Alena (advisor) ; Koubek, Václav (referee)
In this thesis we study the expected height and some other qualities of the binary serach trees. We make the inquiry about the expected height by skewed trees and by the two probably best-known and most widely used variations of the balanced trees, it means the AVL and the red-black trees. In addition to the value of the expected height of the trees we found out the scatter of the tree heights and some other statistics. In this thesis we attach to experimental solution of the problems. We also write down all the theoretical results that were known to us. We focus especially on comparing the measured values with the theoretically counted results. We try to acquire as exact assessment as possible in the case of unexisting theoretical results. Besides we compare the di erences between the various trees. We measured speeds of the tree's generation only marginally. We also inquire the dependence on di erent kinds of enter data within the experiments, such as the sorted data or generated data from various sorts of division. We use the standard statistic methods for the interpretation of the results, especially the method of linear regression.
