Energy expenditure in Zumba
Řehořková, Michaela ; Baláš, Jiří (advisor) ; Bunc, Václav (referee)
The main objective of this study was to assess the energy demand of Zumba. The energy demand was determined by the indirect calorimetry. Four middle-ages women experienced in zumba participated in the study. A walking test untill the individual maximal exhaustion was performed on a treadmill to determine the relationship between heart rate, pulmonary ventilation and oxygen consumption. The energy expenditure of zumba was undertaken during 3 lessons, which took place at intervals of 3-5 days. We found an average oxygen consumption of 25,73 ± 0,95 ml.min-1 .kg-1 , which corresponded to the energy expenditure of 0,55 ± 0,03 kJ.min-1 .kg-1 . Therefore, we consider Zumba as the activity with high energy demand.

Strejcová, Barbora ; Süss, Vladimír (advisor) ; Pavlů, Dagmar (referee) ; Pyšný, Ladislav (referee)
Title: The effect of active recovery and hydroterapy on the subsequent short-term and medium-term muscular performance Objective: The aim of the study was to compare the effect of two recoveries (ice pack, passive recovery) on the subsequent short-term and three recoveries (active recovery, cold water immersion, passive recovery) on the medium-term knee strength in the extension and flexion. Methods: Fourteen athletes in an average age of 26,6±4,4 years performed, in a random cross-over design, 2 sessions with 5 repeated short-term isokinetic tests and 3 sessions with 3 repeated medium-term isokinetic tests. The effect of ice packs and passive rest and the effect of active recovery, passive rest and cold water immersion were assessed by the 5x2 (time x recovery) and 3x3 (time x recovery) repeated-measure ANOVA, respectively. Results: The ice packs did not have any effect on peak torque, total work and average power during short-term performances. The average heart rate was significantly lower during measurements with the ice packs than during the passive recovery (125±15 vs. 135±20 tepů. min-1 ). We stated significantly lower changes in knee extension for the peak torque after the active recovery (↑ 0,9 N.m) than after the cold water immersion (↓ 14,6 N.m) or the passive recovery (↓ 13,9 N.m). The...

The effect of proximal dynamic stabilizazion on hand muscle strength
Dzvoník, Ján ; Kobesová, Alena (advisor) ; Ježková, Martina (referee)
The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of dynamic stabilizing strategy on handgrip and pinchgrip strength. Exercise utilized in this study was based on rehabilitative approach called Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) - a developmental kinesiology approach. The exercise program consisted of four primal developmental positions (3½ month supine position, oblique sitting position with support on forearm, position on all fours, and the "bear" position). A study file consisted of ten females who were instructed in basic scheme of DNS exercise. They were instructed to exercise at home five times weekly for a 6- weeks period. One exercise lesson took about thirty minutes. Both handgrip and pinchgrip strength was measured using the digital dynamometer CITEC CT 3001 recording maximum voluntary isometric contraction (MVIC). Three-pinch grip strength and fist grip strength was measured for both upper extremities. Fist grip strength was measured in three positions of forearm (pronation, supination and neutral position). Overall eight variables (for each extremity, grip form and position of the forearm) measured before and after exercise program were compared using the paired t-test. Significant increase in muscle strength (p<0,05) was identified for all eight variables after a 6 weeks exercise...

Development of optimal algorithms for the selection of rare semimuonic B decays in ATLAS
Scheirich, Daniel ; Doležal, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Mašík, Jiří (referee)
In this thesis we propose the trigger algorithm for the semimuonic rare B decay selection in ATLAS experiment and we study its performance using the Monte Carlo sample of b 0u+u. The cut optimisation have been performed in order to obtain the optimal cut values and the signal rate for the process was estimated. The feasibility and performance of the tag-and-probe method for the calibration of di-muon triggers is investigated, too. Eects of the systematic uncertainties of the method on the measurements of J/ polarisation and the forward-backward asymmetry of b 0u+u were studied.

Research of protective immunity on patients after transplantation.
Pelák, Ondřej ; Kalina, Tomáš (advisor) ; Drda Morávková, Alena (referee)
Depletion of immune functions in patients after hematopoetic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) results in higher frekvencies of several types of oportunistic infections. Especially the reactivation of human cytomegalovirus (CMV) may cause life-threating infections and require antiviral treatment. Within this diploma thesis we compare the function signatures of CD4+ and CD8+ T-cells stimulated by CMV antigens, which were obtained from 63 pacients after HSCT. Polychromatic flow cytometry measurements of CD154 (CD40L), intracellular cytokines (INF-γ and IL-2) and marker of degranulation (CD107a) allowed us to determine the function status of various T-cells simultaneously. We have discovered, that dual production of INF-γ and IL-2 on CD8+ T-cells was present only in pacients controling their CMV reactivations, but was absent in noncontrolers. Single production of INF-γ on CD8+ T-cells was the most abundat subtype, but they most probably represent non-protective memory cells. We have further created two test of NK-cells functionality, one that aims on the detection of their degranulation ability and second, that detects cytotoxic capability of NK-cells. Key words: transplantation, hematopoetic stem cells, T-lymfocytes, immune system recovery, cytomegalovirus, INF-γ, IL-2

Functional investigation of players in football tennis
Pavlatová, Lenka ; Süss, Vladimír (advisor) ; Kočíb, Tomáš (referee) ; Kračmar, Bronislav (referee)
Název: Funkční vyšetření hráček nohejbalu Název v angličtině: Functional investigation ofplayers in football tennis Klíčová slova: Funkční testy, zatížení, nohejbal, trénovanost. 5

Effect of surface of semiconductor nanocrystals on their properties: investigation by laser spectroscopy
Preclíková, Jana ; Malý, Petr (advisor) ; Franc, Jan (referee)
The topic of the diploma thesis is chemical treatment of the surfaces of semiconductor nanocrystals CdS and CdSe in the form of thin nanocrystalline films prepared by chemical bath deposition. The evolution of photoluminescence and absorption spectra was investigated under treatment by water, toluene, butylamine, pyridine and hydrogen peroxide. The strongest changes were observed by samples soaked in water, pyridine and aqueous solution of pyridine. The observed effects were explained by partly dissolving of nanocrystals by water and affecting behaviour of photoexcited holes in the presence of the strong hole acceptor pyridine. The second part of this diploma thesis deals with photochromic properties of silver nanoparticles in a titanium oxide matrix. The photochromic behaviour of the samples was examined in detail. A phenomenological model of photochromic changes was suggested in analogy with the hole burning spectroscopy. In order to better understand the microscopic processes in this composite material other experiments were realized - e.g. samples were UV irradiated, or laser illuminated under lowered air pressure, pump & probe experiment. Under laser irradiation optical extinction of some nanoparticles was decreased. Simultaneously, changes of plasmon resonances of the rest of nanoparticels were...
