Alfréd Radok's adaptations for the "laterna magika" principle
Šmídtová, Lenka ; Pavlovský, Petr (referee) ; Stehlíková, Eva (advisor)
Czech theater director Alfred Radok (1914-1976) was always temped by confronting several layers of meaning in one single work of art. On theater he used different scenic spaces at once - in e.g. his production of Offenbach's opera Hoffman's Tales (Velka opera 5. kvetna IThe Great May 5th Opera/, 1946) he combined two spaces which symbolized the two worlds of Hoffman's fantasy. The true character of these worlds was not only formed by the stage design but also by acting. When transiting from one space to the other the actors changed their gestures, their body language, the way they walked, etc. A similar principle was applied in Verdi's Rigoletto (Velka opera 5. kvetna IThe Great May 5th Operal, 1947). In this production the singers were moving inbetween two different worlds - one being represented by a ceremonial opening night of this performance in Teatro La Fenice, while the second by the theater backstage which unveiled the reverse side of fame (scene-shifters were preparing the change of the upcoming scene, one singer was flirting around with the dancers, prop-woman was knitting etc.). This specific technique of totally diverse realities medley became the basis for Radok's film debut Daleka cesta IFar Away Journey/ (1949). A portrayal of a life story of a mixed marriage during the Second World War is...

Vliv výživy na poruchy metabolismu krav
Matějíček, Martin
The aim of PhD thesis was to check effects of balanced mixed feeding rations of dairy cows at the different stages of reproduction cycle, to ensure minimal occurrence of metabolic diseases, and improve the health of animals. Selected indicators for the metabolic profile of blood plasma in 10 cows in each established group (calving preparation, early lactation and peak of lactation) were measured. In terms of protein metabolism we found in two cases significant differences in plasma total protein concentration of cows in groups calving preparation and early lactation. The concentration of bilirubin in plasma increased in the group of early cows. But there were no found significant differences. On the contrary, in the case of AST, significant differences between cows in group calving preparation and early lactation were detected. Parameters of lipids metabolism did not significantly change as well as parameters of mineral metabolism. The blood plasma calcium concentrations show a significant difference in the groups calving preparation and early lactation. The highest values of calcium achieved cows in the group of calving preparation.

These heart rates were further analyzed to collect the appropriate data for cardiac strain characteristics. Results: The average game time was 37 minutes with 5 - 9 seconds exercise loads and 15 seconds recovery time. Beach volleyball is high to middle level intensity game with mixed aerobic- anaerobic energy supply system in use. The average heart rate falls in the interval of 150 and 180. The jumping load is about 41 and more jumps counting serve jump, block and spike. The prevalent movement distance is within 4 meter range. The results also shows that the blocking player is under large physical stress while changing repeteadly position between defence on the net and in the field. Keywords: Beach...

Innovative Marketing Trends as a Response to the Changing Consumers
Keskin, Kaan ; Král, Petr (advisor) ; Tisovski, Marija (referee)
In recent years, innovation and the subsequent technological advancements have gained significance in shaping consumer behavior to a disruptive extent. Especially with the advancements in mobile technology, consumer behaviors shifted towards an elevated expectation of mobility and increased interactivity. Marketers who seek a better degree of access to the consumer market and provide customer satisfaction needed to adopt new tools and methods in communication, which would align with their target groups more effectively. Mobile marketing emerged as an innovative technique that is based on and driven by this change in consumer behavior; therefore it is necessary to evaluate the effectiveness of its approach and implementation. In this light, this research paper employs a quantitative approach based on the results' analysis of an online survey conducted by the Author of the thesis, aimed at testing whether there is a strong correlation between mobile marketing efforts and customer satisfaction. Consequently, one can conclude that the same mobile devices that serve as convenience for consumers, serve as an effective channel of communication for marketers, whereas with an integrated approach where other components of the marketing mix support mobile content, the likeliness of attaining consumer satisfaction is higher.

Metodika navrhování řasových fotobioreaktorů: matematické modelování hydrodynamického míchání a předpověď parametrů světelného režimu
Papáček, Š. ; Rálek, P. ; Kopecký, Jiří ; Masojídek, Jiří ; Štys, Dalibor ; Petera, K.
Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and process simulation are important tools for the design and optimisation of biochemical processes. In this contribution, the photobioreactor design methodology based on CFD is proposed. A widely used CFD package (Fluent 6.1, by Fluent Inc.) performs a numerical approximation of microalgae trajectory (pathline) inside tubular photobioreactor. Consequently, prediction of the level of hydrodynamic mixing and corresponding light regime inside the photobioreactor with effective use of strong light by high-density algal culture is possible. In the first approach, the algal suspension is considered as a single-phase incompressible viscous Newtonian fluid, which fills the whole section of the photobioreactor photic zone. Coupling the cell trajectories with the corresponding light conditions, the light histories of single cells are obtained. These records contain complete information about light regime in photobioreactor. Computer simulations for various photobioreactor design parameters and operating conditions allow to establish the quantitative relation between variables representing design and operating parameters and light regime parameters. Thus the problem of optimal PBR design could be resolved.

Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradci Králové Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Drug Control Candidate: PharmDr. Jana Maláková Supervisor: Doc. PharmDr. Milan Nobilis, PhD., Associate Professor of Bioorganic Chemistry. Title of Doctoral Thesis: Quantitative measurement of drugs in biological samples using chromatography methods. The thesis deals with the application of instrumental analytical methods to the quantitative measurement of drugs and their metabolites in biological samples using liquid and gas chromatography. Various procedures of sample preparation were evaluated during optimization of analytical assays. Precipitation of proteins with acetonitrile was employed (analysis of cefuroxime), liquid-liquid extraction (analysis of topiramate, 8-methoxypsoralen) and samples were also purified using a mixed-mode solid-phase extraction (reversed-phase and ion-exchange principle) during the analysis of galantamine and its metabolites. The unbound cephuroxime fraction in the plasma and protein binding were determined using an ultrafiltration method. Chromatography conditions - gas or liquid chromatography- depended on physico-chemical characteristics of a drug. Due to the thermal decomposition of topiramate, derivatization was used to form a more stable methyl...
