Financial analysis of the company MWV Svitavy s. r. o.

This bachelor thesis focuses on financial analysis of the company MeadWestvaco (MWV) Svitavy s. r. o. in the accounting period 2008--2012. The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part describes basic methods and definitions of financial analysis that are applied in the practical part of thesis later. The practical part starts with the introduction of the company. Next specification of financial economy in Czech paper industry are shortly outlined. The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to perform financial analysis and evaluate financial health of the company MWV Svitavy s. r. o. An intercompany comparison of selected pointers (marks) of financial analysis in concern MWV in Europe is made in this thesis. Also there is comparison with average values of the paper industry in the Czech Republic. In conclusion the final ratings and recommendations for future financial management MWV Svitavy s. r. o. are stated.

Financial analysis of the coal mining industry

The purpose of this thesis is the assessment of the coal mining industry in Europe between 2010 and 2012. At first, financial specifications of the coal mining industry are introduced. After that, the methods used in the analysis are theoretically described, and the analysis itself is performed. Consequently, the future development of the coal mining industry is estimated. The main outcome of the analysis is that the three biggest companies, which I used as a benchmark, outperformed the industry as a whole in most financial ratios in the given period. Within the analysis Amadeus database and the annual reports of the companies serve as the main source of information.

HR management in the Japanese small and middle-sized companies located in the Central Europe

The main objective of this thesis is to monitor and analyse the HR management currently applied in the Japanese small and medium-sized companies located in the Czech Republic. The thesis clarifies to the reader how these companies approach the HR management and compares their approaches with the ones from the best practices. Among others, the discussed areas further include standardised interviews and long-term experience of the Japanese small and medium-sized enterprises in the Czech Republic. In general, the thesis not only provides a comprehensive view of HR management in small and medium-sized enterprises, but it also focuses on the characteristics of the HR management in the selected Japanese small and medium-sized companies. The hypothesis of the thesis is that these companies have adapted their HR management to the conditions on the Czech market and they have adjusted to the local business environment. The hypothesis was proven based on the available documents and conducted interviews.

Zahradní festivaly v Evropě

This bachelor thesis is about international garden festivals. It aims to describe their locations in Europe and also mentions the characteristics of the international festivals in the rest of the world. The next part of the thesis compares the characteristics of each festival and mentions the difference of European International festivals and the festivals in the rest of the world. The bachelor thesis is divided into three main parts. The first part reviews the festivals in Europe, describes similarities and differences with others world events. This section also highlights the similarities with some garden shows. The second section describes the specifics of three proposals, which has been developed as part of this thesis and send to the festivals competition. This part informs about the results and evaluates the selection process and requirements. It focuses on the natural conditions of the habitat and the use of plants and materials. To conclude, it tries to objectively criticise each festival. The third part evaluates the possibilities and challenges of organization of the international garden festival in the Czech Republic. It compares the qualities of the festivals described in the first part and tries to create a combination of positive characteristics, which fits into the Czech environment. Similar festival could enrich Czech environment with new innovative ideas.

Perspectives of the exports of the company "Škoda Auto" in the markets outside of Europe

Tato práce se týká exportu vozů firmy Škoda Auto. Seznámí nás s historií firmy i jejím současným postavením na trhu. Hlavní část práce je zaměřená na zámořské trhy. Jsou charakterizována hlavní specifika těchto trhů a analyzován vývoj exportu ve vybraných zemích tohoto regionu. Na závěr jsou zhodnoceny perpektivy těchto trhů pro firmu Škoda Auto.

Marketing strategy of Europ Assistance

Cílem této diplomové práce je popsat a analyzovat marketingovou strategii asistenční společnosti Europ Assistance, na tomto konkrétním příkladu uvést specifika marketingu služeb a nalézt odpověď na otázku, čím je navíc odlišný marketing společností poskytujících asistenční služby. Diplomová práce obsahuje charakteristiku služeb, popisuje odvětví asistence a jednotlivých forem asistenčních služeb. Dále prezentuje hlavní firmy na trhu asistence. V hlavní části se zaměřuje na prezentaci a historii společnosti Europ Assistance, její novou strategii a její promítnutí do regionální organizace společnosti, jejích aktivit a proměně firemní identity společnosti.

This thesis deals with consumer behavior of a certain segment in tourism. The selected segment are Argentines and this thesis describes their consumer specifics together with analysis of external factors that enter into the buying decision process. There is also indicated their relationship to Europe destination and the Czech Republic and overview of marketing activities of CzechTourism agency on the market. The goal is to approach this market to Czech entities focusing on tourism.

Feeding ecology of the Stone marten (Martes foina) in Europe.

During last decades, the stone marten, Martes foina (Erxleben, 1777) became a synanthropic animal and its population is increasing. This review is summarizing the knowledge about its feeding habits throughout Europe. In the first part the methods are introduced which are used for study of feeding ecology, for example scat analysis or the analysis of stomach and gut content. The way of calculations of some characteristic values most frequently used in study of feeding ecology of marten are described. In the second part the geographic variability and the seasonal changes in the marten's food in the different parts of Europe are analyzed. It seems that the type of habitat, in which the stone marten lives, affects its feeding habits. The differences its feeding in the urban and rural habitats are shown. There are intrahabitat differences too. In the third part of this work the main components of marten's food are described which include various small vertebrates, invertebrates (mostly insects) and fruit, and some marten's food specifics are discussed. Railway as an alternative to maritime transport between Asia and Europe

The aim of the diploma thesis is the comparison of maritime and rail freight transport between Asia and Europe. The thesis focuses on characteristic of rail transport as an alternative mode of transport and identification of possibilities, how to increase its competitiveness towards to maritime transport. First part of the thesis analyses current situation in maritime and rail transport and focuses on their specifics and future potential. The practical part deals with the change of fictitious company´s logistics system. Maritime and rail transport are compared in terms of risks, costs and shipping time. The last part of thesis deals with possibilities of increasing competitiveness of rail transport in the future.
