Performance comparison of selected populations of two breeds of rabitts
POUSTKA, Milan
The aim of the thesis was performance comparison of selected populations of two breeds of rabbits, the Moravian blue (Mm) and the Dutch rabbit (Ho), large and small breed of rabbit in fact. The monitored aspects were the production characters (growth and carcass yield) and reproduction characters (average numbers of birth, number of all births, live born and still-born births and number of weaning rabbits, ability of pregnancy, milkiness). Population of each of the breeds was monitored in a selected base of 68 litters of Moravian blue and 84 litters of Dutch rabbit. Both monitored breeds are recognized by the Czech Breeders Association as bred breeding and club breeding rabbits. Growth was monitored in regular intervals from birth until the end of fattening, i.e. until 8 months of age at Moravian blue a until 6 months of age at Dutch rabbit. The results were compared with the gain in weight published in pattern book of breeds. To evaluate milkiness, each of litters was weighed at 2 and 21 days of age. To compare the reproduction characters the monitored criteria were number of births, total natality and mortality and the number of raised births. The gained values of both breeds were compared and evaluated depending on increment of living mass and the fattening period. Carcass yield was monitored according to the traditional procedure of selected animals of average live weight and after reaching the slaughter age. The results show significantly higher gain in weight throughout the growth period of Dutch rabbit, than required by the pattern book of breeds. Moravian blue showed lower average increase of weight during the first five months of age from standard. The average number of rabbits in litter was 6,3 births at Moravian blue and 6,48 births at Dutch rabbit. On the other hand breeding succest and overall natality gave better results at Moravian blue. It has also been found that the milkiness of Moravian blue was 3985,4 grams in comparison with 2582,2 grams at Dutch rabbit, which is given by the size of breed. The slaughter analysis showed the carcass yield to be 56,1 % at Moravian blue and 62,4 % at Dutch rabbit, which is a value approaching meat breeds but at a lower meat production. The overall summary of the gained results showed greater production of living matter at Moravian blue rabbit providing greater demands for animal housing and feeding base. Its brood provides greater potential for growth and in some aspects better reproduction character. On the other hand, Dutch rabbit reached paradoxically more births in litter and higher carcass yield of undoubtedly better quality meat. Results of this thesis can be beneficial for choosing breed for novice breeders and for existing breeders it can help in their attempts to improve the strengths and eliminate the weaknesses of their breed.

Faktory ovlivňující výběr boxu dojnicemi českého strakatého plemene skotu
Večeřa, Milan
The objective of the dissertation thesis was to analyse factors affecting preference of cubicle of Czech Fleckvieh dairy cows. Monitoring was carried in farm GenAgro Ricany a. s., a period of 12 months (June 2011 -- May 2012). The objective of monitoring was one section - one quarter of stable (n = 98 cows). Total of 47 040 observations were analysed. Statistical evaluation of data was performed by STATISTICA 10.0. In the sectionwas comprised of 103 comfortable stalls (cubicles) distributed into 3 rows.. Row A -- closest to feeding table (32 cubicles); row B -- in the midle section (33 cubicles); row C -- close to the side wall (38 cubicles). In all factors (number and stage of lactation, milk yield, number of arrival from milking parlour, temperature and humidity in stable and THI, height in the cross) was found significantly influence (p < 0,01) on preference of cubicle row. In evaluation of preference of boxes it was found out, that the lowest occupation rate in whole observing was in those boxes, which are on the edge of rows. Also lower amount of visits was noted in boxes, which are surrounded from more than one side by wooden partition separating space for lying (box) from waterhole. On the contrary mostly occupied boxes were those, which are located in the middle of box rows. Further higher preference rate of left side when lying was found in all observed influences, identically at both outer rows. On the contrary dairy cows preferred right side when lying in middle row.

Vrágová, Eliška ; Mahrová, Andrea (advisor) ; Beran, Jiří (referee)
Title: Quality of life of patients with chronic renal failure treated with peritoneal dialysis. Objectives: Evaluate quality of life of patients with chronic renal failure treated with peritoneal dialysis. Propose possible ways to improve quality of life of peritoneally dialysed patients using movement activities. Methods: A total of 25 peritoneally dialysed patients of the PD ambulance of the 1st Clinic of Internal Medicine of the Faculty Hospital in Pilsen took part in the survey. Health-related quality of life (HRQOL) was evaluated using standardized questionnaires WHOQOL-BREF, WHOQOL-100, SF-36 and KDQOL-SFTM . The work and functional anamnesis questionnaire was made to evaluate the amount of movement activities that had been carried out. Results: We have noticed significantly better evaluation in WHOQOL-BREF in the domain aimed to evaluate the quality of life from the point of view of living conditions in comparison with healthy population. On the one hand, the quality of life in the domain of physical health is worse than in the healthy population, but on the other hand, it is better than in patients treated with haemodialysis. The ability to take care of their everyday needs (i.e. domain of independence) was considered the most important by the interviewed patients. In HRQOL evaluation using...

Coping strategies and stress factors of elderly people in their own households and homes for the elderly
BAUEROVÁ, Drahomíra
The thesis determines whether life in home for the elderly in fluence on stress factors and stress management of seniors. The theoretical part is devoted to the description of old age and their specific needs, changes in old age and elderly living. The second chapter is devoted to the general definiton of stress and its context, response to stress, psychosomatic dimension of stress. The practical part contains a survey that aims to determine and compare stress factors and coping strategies of elderly people in their households and homes for the elderly. Partial goals were to describe the stress factors and coping strategie for all seniors and to find different by sex stress management seniors. And then describe what coping strategies used by all seniors. The data was used to determine coping strategies inventory (CSI). The study involved a total of 51 respondents, including 26 respondents were interviewed in their own households and 25 respondents in homes for the elderly.

Correltion between body proportions and jump technique of dogs
VAZDOVÁ, Pavlína
The aim of this thesis was to determine whether there are differences in the length of a jump among individual breeds and whether the proportions of the body and body indices influence the length of the jump. In total 84 individuals of three model breeds (German Shepherd, Belgian Shepherd and Border Collie) were studied. For each individual dog six body measurements were taken and used to calculate the ratios of physical parameters (indices). In addition to the measuring, the jump over an obstacle was video recording for ad-hoc analysis of the jump parameters. Using the described methods was proven that the breed, individual training experience and body measurements have significant influence on jump performance, or more precisely on take-off and jump length. The impact of analyzed aspects on landing was significantly lower. Jump length is closely related to the depth/height index and the width of the chest. The worst performance was statistically identified at dogs with low value of the balance index. The results indicate that characteristics examined in this thesis (namely breed and the body measurements and indices) can be used for preselecting individuals with higher jump potential.
