Shared Views of Czech Woman´s Movement with Views of Berta Suttner
Neudorflová, Marie L.
Peace movement, developing in the Czech woman’s movement in the last decade before World War I, was represented by a number of women, most important being Pavla Moudra. They appreciated that Berta Suttner had a courage to revolt against the glorification of war and she published articles on horrors of a war, based on her own particular experince. The essay deals with relevant articles in Czech woman’s jounals between 1905 and 1913, follows important anti-war argumentation, which included anti-war stands of most of great history personalities, inhuman impact of wars on women and children, as well as criticism of power elites, including the Catholic Church, which viewed the war as necessary but used it often as an escape solving social problems and for expansion. The most valuable results of these struggles were a Peace Reader (1914) and efforts to influence politics.

Design, development and implementation of FileMaker system
Kábrt, Jakub ; Selčan, Vladimír (advisor) ; Buchalcevová, Alena (referee)
This thesis deals with the design, realization and implementation of database IS FileMaker. FileMaker is a development environment for creating database tables and their relationships as well as the Graphic User Interface (GUI). It deals with the characteristics of the environment, a description of the basic components that are used to create both functional and user part of the basic processes of development and finally the advantages and disadvantages of the competition. In detail, it describes the life cycle of a system created for a company, such as practical knowledge of the GUI interface or scripts. It deals in detail with ability to share databases using a number of protocols (such as FileMaker network, Web Publishing, SQL, ODBC, JDBC), the possible addition of hardware or software components. The conclusion is dealing with SWOT analysis of environment, where key features are highlighted, weaknesses, opportunities and possible threats.

Nuclei of Giardia intestinalis
Krížová, Kateřina ; Nohýnková, Eva (advisor) ; Jiráková, Klára (referee)
4 Abstract Giardia intestinalis is a protozoan parasitic organism early diverging from common ancestor of all eukaryotes. That is why many distinctions of structure and ongoing processes occure in Giardia. Although the current findings suggest that a number of features and simplicity may be given to adaptation of the parasitic way of life, Giardia still remains a unique model, which may indicate something about many of the "core" processes that define eukaryotic cells. This paper summarizes a lot of known information related to two morphologically similar nuclei of Giardia. The nuclei have been compared both with each other and with the general knowledge of the eukaryotic nucleus. Although initially the nuclei were considered to be exactly the same, more recent studies and researches have brought plenty of evidence that they differ from each other. The main difference is basically the unequal content of chromosomes in each nucleus. Other differences consist in the number and deployment of nuclear pores or in the synchronization of the cell cycle. Special type of mitosis occurs there as well. Even though many claims have been clarified and refuted since the first study confirming the identity of nuclei was published in 1990, a lot of information needed for a complete understanding of the functioning of the...

Middle-term changes in the lengths of solar cycles
Střeštík, Jaroslav
In the published data of anuual sunspot numbers since 1500 and less reliable guesses of positions of minima and maxima of solar cycles since 200 B.C. middle-term changes in the cycle lenghts have been investigated. Data published by different authors differ considerably, the more the further to the past they go.

Vladimír Lébl's Inheritance in the Czech Museum of Music
Polášková, Anežka ; Havelková, Tereza (advisor) ; Ottlová, Marta (referee)

The second part of the thesis contains analyses of Lébl's texts concerning the New Music published in Literární noviny journal and presented in 1985-1986 as a cycle of lectures under the name Musica nova at the Divadlo hudby theatre. The final part of the thesis presents a catalogue of Lébl's estate in the Czech Museum of Music provided with a detailed description of individual sources.

F. Kupka and his letters to V. Hynais
Brožová, Kristýna ; Wittlich, Petr (referee) ; Prahl, Roman (advisor)
This bachelor thesis, named F. Kupka and his letters to V. Hynais deals with mutual correspondence between František Kupka and Vojtěch Hynais. Their letters are currently placed in the National Gallery Archive in Prague. Dealing with this correspondence required translation from French to Czech and critical analysis of the text in comparison to already published studies. Many of the currently known information concerning Kupka has been confirmed while some new facts have also been uncovered. Although it may have seemed formal at first sight, the relationship between the two artists was truly warm. They shared not only their artistic points of view but also the joys and sorrows of their family lives. They often included magazine articles dealing with art and the current situation in the Czech and French art world into their letters. Kupka often mention his work, mainly book illustration, and expressed his longing for painting. His correspondence reassures us of his punctual preparation for each art project and also sometimes helps withs its dating. The reader is also confronted with Kupka's successes and failures with his search for a new artistic expression, although this can only be found in slight indications, not in connection to concrete paintings. The most important outcome of studying their...

Morphology and development of the midgut pathogens in bark beetle
TONKA, Tomáš
The bark beetle, Ips typographus is economically important pest of spruce standings across Europe. The knowledge of biology and ecology of bark beetles is important to protect spruce forests against beetles outbreaks. The research of pathogens of bark beetles is the main goal to use biological control of bark beetles and replace chemical or mechanical methods using today. During the bark beetle outbreak in Sumava mountains three main pathogens showed up very promising. Microsporidium Chytridiopsis typographi, the virus Ips typographus Entomopoxvirus and negregarine Menzbieria chalcographi were the most occured pathogens attacking beetles in Sumava outbreak area. Transmission of microspo ridium and virus have been introduced and propagated in living bark beetles in labo ratory. The reaserach of biology, transmission, morphogenesis and ultrastructure of these pathogens begun in living beetles in laboratory conditions. Results which were obtained can be divided to virological and microsporidian parts. In both cases the infection and routine passage have been successful in laboratory condition and now the infections of microsporidium Ch. typographi nad ITEV are routinely propagated to purchase infected material. Unlike the original description of ITEV in laboratory infected beetles the synthesis and origin of microspindles was described. In TEM the first steps of newly formed virions occluded into the spheroid were observed, including microspindles occlusion. ITEV develops in midgut epithelium of host. The successful infection of Ch. typographi has been managed in laboratory. Obtai ned results completed and revised findings which were published in first descriptions. Purchased results offer a possibility to compare old a new findings concernig this microsporidium. Budding as a unique process of multiplication has been described in microsporidia. This process is uncommon in microsporidia and has not never been observed. It acts as a tool to multiple vegetative stages in the life cycle. The ultrastructures and complete life cycle was described in Ch. typographi and the former description was revised.

System - Stigmatization of Psychically Disordered
Bodnár, Jan ; Háva, Petr (advisor) ; Karlová, Irena (referee)
Rigorous thesis "System - Stigmatization of Psychically Disordered" aims the analysis of the system - stigmatization after the year 1989. As a part of the research tasks some fields related to the psychiatrical treatment/care reform in Czech Republic are discussed. Among the most important fields of disputation lie the general prerequisites of the system - stigmatization sequencing the present system of the treatment/care, the principles of the persisting psychiatrical treatment/care system that emphasizes psychiatrical institutions such as mental homes or the specific interests and acts of the people involved in compared to declared sponsions that were published in the strategical documents. As a solution by the working the problem out the people involved analysis, analysis of the legal frame and relevant strategical documents analysis. The koncept System - stigmatization is, for the purpose of that thesis, understood as an origin and a development of the stigmatization - mechanism that originated in the system of psychiatrical treatment/care and psychiatric institutions. Understood in that way, the stigmatization can be characterized as complicated web of determinants having deep history - based roots. It is also related to development of the specific culture in a way. The rigorous thesis...
