Technology Assessment as Applied Ethics of Technology

Practices that characterize Technology Asessment have recently experienced a new renaissance within the European area. An example is the EU’s Seventh Framework Programme titled PACITA (Parliaments and Civil Society in Technology Assessment). An important role for TA in the Czech Republic is to create conditions for gaining public acceptance of technological development. If the Czech Republic wants succeed in the future, it has to create an environment that is „friendly“ to technologies. Many of the ethics issues in technology are linked with the interface of science and ethics, environmental ethics and/or medical ethics.

Optimization of Small Electric Machines

Optimization algorithms are highly strong tool for solution of many problems of engeneering practice. They are usually used ,where the solution of given problem by analitics way is strongly unsuitable or unreal. For succesful solution such problems was developed a lot of highly strong algorithms, which alowed solwe dificult problems by efective way. In first part of this work I would like to introduce some optimization methods, their division and application. The next point will be introduction of two programs, which are plentifully used for optimization and each other cooperative together. These programs are ANSYS and MATLAB. In last part I will pay attention to optimization a small electrica machine, which is twelve volts automobile engine starter. On this engine starter I will apply three optimization algorithms and I would try to find corect value of field current for attainment maximum electromagnetic power.

Study of retention behaviour of neopterine in HILIC chromatographic system with different stationary phases

TITLE: The study of neopterin retention characteristics in HILIC chromatography system with different types of stacionary phases SUMMARY: This graduation thesis was dealing with the development of an analytical method for the identification and quantification of biologically active substances biopterin, neopterin and 7,8-dihydroneopterin by hydrophilic liquid interaction chromatography (HILIC) connected to fluorescence detection. Neopterin represents an important and useful parameter for monitoring of the immune system activation, that accompanies different infectious and autoimmune diseases. Increased level of neopterin concentration can be observed in several types of malignant tumors. Recently the coherency between neopterin, 7,8-dihydroneopterin and intracelular oxidative stress and apoptosis of the cells has been demonstrated. Totally reduced form of biopterin serves as a cofactor of some enzymes in human organism. HILIC is an option of high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Three chromatographic columns (LUNA HILIC, OBELISK R, OBELISK N) were tested at different chromatografic conditions. Trends in analytical CRM

This thesis describes major trends in the field of analytical CRM. The goal is to identify those trends and compare them with current situation on the CRM market. The thesis is devided among several parts. In the opening part is described Customer Relationship Management and architecture of CRM system. The next part discribes analytical CRM and its standard ways of using. The main part of the thesis is identification of trends. Idetificated trends are characterized and compared with situation on the market. The contribution of this thesis is summarizing current trends in CRM analytics and comparsion of those trends with current CRM market situation.

Marketing communication of the International Mountaineering Film Festival (IMFF)

Title: Marketing communication of the International Mountaineering Film Festival (IMFF) Objectives: The main objective of this thesis is to propose new methods in particular parts of the marketing communication mix which could be more efficient and effective for the International Mountaineering Film Festival. Existing channels and forms of marketing communication of the event, which will be discussed in detail in the analytical part, will help to create an overview of these proposals. Methods: There will be used a descriptive case study for analysis of current marketing communication and SWOT analysis for an overview of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Marketing research will be made through interviews. Results: The proposal of a new marketing communication of MHFF for years 2012 - 2014 will be the result of this thesis. The proposal will include the appropriate combination of individual tools of communication mix, along with media and sponsorship opportunities. This proposal will be presented to the organizing team of MHFF as an inspiration to streamline the existing communication. Trends and contexts of development of the energy sector

The world is nowadays dependent on energies, which become scarcer and scarcer. Petroleum reserves are shrinking and it is necessary to find new suitable substitutes. Energy consumption is increasing and energy crises are threatening the whole world. This caused price increased of all energies. Prices and consumption can decrease because of economic crisis, however when recession is over prices of energies are likely to grow again. Economic crisis can cause energy sources are predominantly located in politically unstable countries and other countries are dependent on them. National strategies on energy sector are therefore crucial. The Czech Republic with other countries consumes more energy than actually needed. Savings on energies are becoming more important. The production and consumption of energies have harmful by-products polluting the environment which is not desirable. Renewable resources are much less harmful to the environment but their consumption is still limited. Big potential could be also in nuclear energy and coal power plants with new technologies. The goal of this paper is to analyse individual indicators of energy sector of the Czech Republic and compare it internationally, set the strengths and weaknesses of this sector.

Economics of 2008 Men‘s World Floorball Championships

The thesis deals with the 2008 Men's World Floorball Championships, held in the Czech Republic. It describes and evaluates various aspects of World Championships economics, compares organizers' targets with the actual results and highlights the most important factors of success of the event along with the biggest deficiencies in event's organization. The objective of this work is to create a document that will serve as an aid to future organizers to hold a successful international sporting event such as Men's World Floorball Championships.

Studies of NK cell receptors and other proteins using recombinant expressions and mass spectrometry

CD69 is considered as the marker receptor of activated lymphocytes and is expressed at sites of active immune response. Physiologically it appears in the form of covalently bound homodimer, however after examining its three- dimensional structure we suggested Q93 on one subunit and D88 with E87 on the other one to participate on the inter-subunit interactions. Even more profound intertwining was observed in case of R134 of one subunit with A136 and Y135 on the other one. Therefore Q93, R134 or both were mutated into alanines and showed the monomeric form just in case of double-mutant. This fact influenced significantly also the binding of ligands. While the Kd values for binding of GlcNAc was approximately 10-5 M in case of monomeric form, in case of dimeric form it was 10 times lower and even 100 times lower in case of the longest covalently bound dimers. Although the gel filtration retention time decrease was observed, which could indicate a change in molecular fold, the value of experimentally determined sedimentation coefficient was identical. Moreover neither the comparison of HSQC NMR spectra before and after ligand saturation revealed any significant shifts. Dopady migrace na ekonomiky zemí dovážející a vyvážející pracovní sílu

Obsahem práce je téma migrace a její dopad na ekonomické a sociální prostředí. Na problematiku je nahlíženo z pozice země dovážející pracovní sílu stejně jako vyvážející. Pozorovány jsou změny v uplynulých letech spolu s aktuálními trendy pohybů obyvatel a incentivy pro ně. Hodnoceny budou ekonomické a socioekonomické následky i příčiny pohybu pracujících. To znamená především doložit, komu všemu a jak migrace pomáhá, zda někomu škodí, význam vazeb emigrantů na domovskou zemi, vlivy asimilace a to z pohledu kvalifikovaných i nekvalifikovaných pracovníků. Součástí je i prokázání či vyvrácení mýtů, které v souvislosti s migrací panují. Práce by měla pomoci zodpovědět otázku, zda má smysl obklopit zemi branami a nevpouštět cizince dovnitř, či naopak proměnit hranice ve formální linii a umožnit volný pohyb obyvatel.

Řízení pohledávek v zemědělství ČR po roce 2000

Po přechodu od centrálně plánované ekonomiky k ekonomice tržní nastal v Československu, později v České republice obrovský rozmach podnikatelských aktivit Zpočátku bylo na trhu mnoho nového prostoru pro expanzi všech podnikatelských subjektů. Později, spolu se zmenšujícím se volným prostorem na trhu, zesiloval konkurenční boj mezi firmami Začala se postupně čím dál více uplatňovat převaha nabídky nad poptávkou a zákazníci, odběratelé, začali této situace stále větší mírou využívat. Konkurence přinutila dodavatele,aby část období své odběratele úvěrovali obchodními úvěry. Pro dodavatele tato částka znamená pohledávku, pro zákazníka ? odběratele závazek, který by měl nejpozději v dohodnutém termínu splatit.
