Characteristic of Spanish used in sport journalism

In my diploma thesis, I tried to familiarise readers with the characteristics of Spanish used by journalists in Spain across all means of mass communication (newspapers, radio, television and Internet). First, I focused on explaining the publicist style and stated in which means of mass communication sports journalism can be found. Furthermore, I described its linguistic characteristics in particular mass media. Then I dealt with sports slang and classified its grammar characteristics, dividing it into a morphological and syntactic part. I also described phonetic pronunciation, which listeners encounter in sports commentaries. In the morphological part, I familiarised readers with the way of forming new words in Spanish through a compositional or derivational process. I also listed the most common prefixes and suffixes that contribute to the formation of new words in Spanish sports journalism. In the syntactic part, I focused in more detail on peculiarities regarding noun gender, the usage of sports journalism elementary words by Spanish journalists and on unusual language means, which make sports texts and commentaries diverse. I provided a few examples of typical clichés that can be found in the language area, as well examples of attempts on their updating. Subsequently, I dealt with the Spanish sports...

Photography in the magazine Mladý svět 1959-1989

The paper deals with the treatment of photography in a Czechoslovakian magazine Mladý svět. It analyses the period since its origin in 1959 till the end of 1989. It focuses primarily on photo reporters Leoš Neboř, Miroslav Hucek and Miroslav Zajíc, who played a decisive role in the visual image of the magazine. The paper examines picture material (reportages, front pages) using the content image analysis. Its aim is to show the particularity of its work with photography, by which Mladý svět was distinguished from the majority of periodicals at that time. The quality of pictures and the space granted to them in the magazine is described by concrete examples from the whole analysed period. The paper presents the themes and methods of their visual representation as well as some major authors which helped Mladý svět win fame during the period.

This thesis deals with the reform of state administration and self-government in the field of accounting with a particular focus on accounting for tangible fixed assets differentiating depreciation before reform and depreciation of tangible fixed assets under the new rules. Besides to the accounting the thesis is also focused on various characteristics, such as transfers, technical appreciation or depreciation adjournment and accounting solutions of these problems. Each issue is then supplemented by illustrative example. The whole issue is based on the accounting and reporting of the specific conditions of Prague 13 and Prague City Assembly.

Financial leasing for passenger vehicles

The main goal of this bachelor's thesis is to create a comprehensive view of the problematics of the financial leasing passenger vehicles. The first part is focused on characteristics of leasing and individual accounting and tax documents. Then it describes changes in the Czech legislation from 1. 1. 2004 to 1. 4. 2009. These changes are illustrated on concrete examples, as well. It is also described accounting view at the financial leasing (by lesee and by leasing company). The final part of this work describes special cases of financial leasing and their book-keeping.

Using the instruments of discourse analysis these master theses intend to explore, what is the core of the transport policy discussion in Prague, what are the main sources and discourses forming it. The discussion on the transport policy in one of the Prague city district's is used not only for the analysis of the transport base of the discussion but also as the illustration of forming the public discussion in general. The analysis focuses on the roles of two main groups of collective actors of public decision-making - elected politicians (local authority) and NGOs. Discourse is in analysis understood in the Foucault's view as the practices which form the objects of which they speak and do not speak. With reference to Fairclough it concentrates also on the specific role of individual actors. The analysis indicates that the main sources of the good transport solution are their suitable transport funcioning, evironmental assets and public support. First two sources are discussed in the first part of the thesis. The public support source is discused in the second part of analysis, dealing with the democratic discourse. Freedom and personal rights of employees in Québec

The Thesis deals with freedom and rights of employees in the Canadian province of Québec. The first part characterizes the law in Québec and specifies the system of law in this province. The second part concerns the discrimination and the guarantee of rights and freedom. The topics of the third part are accommodative remedy, its future development, the relation with the increasing number of immigrants and some obstructions that the accommodation has to face sometimes. At the same time, it offers some propositions to accommodate effectively in order to maintain the development and prosperity of a corporation. The Thesis goes along with case studies that illustrate the problems with particular examples from reality.

Methanol affair in the czech media

This thesis deals with the medialization of public health-threatening events associated with the methanol affair, which appeared in Czech republic in September 2012. The thesis examines the ways in which selected four national newspapers informed the public about that case. The theoretical part presents concepts through which it is possible to look at the functioning of the media - their role in society, patterns and routine ways of media production, their role in case of emergencies and crises. Analytical part first outlines the methodological basis and consequently represents the outputs of quantitative and qualitative research. The quantitative part mainly describes how much space was in the examined newspapers provided with the affair, what kind of sub-themes were most accented, how much importance was over time attributed to the affair, what the motives were displayed in the published photographs, to what extent was preserved news neutrality of published headlines. The qualitative part of the research focuses on the linguistic tools used in articles in term of neutrality, on non-verbal expression tools and in detail illustrates how the examined newspapers reported about specific events associated with the methanol affair.
