Cognitive Analysis of Temporal Prepositions in Czech
Pavlíková, Veronika ; Lehečková, Eva (advisor) ; Vaňková, Irena (referee)
The present thesis deals with temporal prepositions in Czech from a cognitive and constructional grammar perspective. It aims at demonstrating how one conceptualises time, the emphasis being put on time conceptualised as space. The introduction of the thesis presents a brief summary of the terminology. It is followed by the theoretical part, which has three sections. The first one engages in the characteristics of Czech prepositions; the second one presents cognitive approaches to the analysis of English temporal prepositions; and the third one discusses the methods of analysing English temporal expressions within the framework of constructional grammar. The practical part deals first with a table, in which we analyse all the sample sentences of the prepositions we focus on. Attention is paid to the individual features examined and their relevance in the table. We also discuss the methodology used to form the final version of the table. This is followed by the characteristics of the individual prepositions itself and by recording their meanings into constructions. The last section of the practical part presents the results of the analysis. In the conclusion, we summarise the results of the individual analyses, i.e. both the analyses of the individual specific samples of the prepositions, and the...

Design of Multiplex Optical Fibre Link
Krejča, Libor ; Křivánek, Vítězslav (referee) ; Kyselák, Martin (advisor)
In this thesis I consider problems of optical multiplexers, optical amplifiers and designing optical networks with this components. CWDM and DWDM are the most common used multiplexers today. I describe principles of realization multiplexers from basic level to realization in WDM networks. EDFA is also common used amplifier today and I describe his internal structure and how it works. Today, we can observe many realization of optical netwoks with Raman amplifiers, especially in long haul networks. Raman amplifier is characterized in brief. In next chapter I describe the design of optical communication systems and the main designing equations are explained. Then I used the equations for example of designing optical communication system with multiplexers, EDFAs and other components, which are needed for function of the system. In last chapter I explain mathematical model of signal propagation in optical fiber called nonlinear Schrodinger equation, which includes main optical effects in fiber like chromatic dispersion or Kerr effect. The simulation model and his numeric solution was designed including PMD effect, the simulation model is programmed in MATLAB.

Data analysis and processing to draw up consolidated financial statements of holding company
Filka, Zdeněk ; Doucek, Petr (advisor) ; Klas, Jan (referee)
In my bachelor thesis I deal with the data analysis and processing to draw up consolidated financial statements of holding company. The object of the bachelor thesis is the utilization of the Structured Query Language (SQL) as a tool of extracting data from relational databases. The main aim is to create SQL scripts, which could process data and on the basis of these data create reports, which could subsequently serve as data bases to draw up consolidated financial statements of company XY. The whole thesis is divided into two parts. In the theoretical part, the purpose is to provide the summary of the SQL, particularly that part of it which helps to query data. This part is called the statement SELECT. On simple examples the procedure of extracting desired data outputs is explained using this statement. This description of the SQL can be used and applied on relational databases in business practice. This problem is dealt with in the practical part. Here I first describe business database and structure of its tables from which the desired data are extracted. Then I define the data requirements to consolidated financial statements, and in the end I create SQL scripts.

Frauds in accounting
Šmídová, Jekaterina ; Pelák, Jiří (advisor)
The subject of this bachelor thesis I have chosen relates to frauds in accounting. As far as I am concerned I consider this topic to be highly attractive and rewarding. The thesis starts with a detailed description of frauds in accountig followed by some actual cases like Enron, World com, etc. The following section refers to main pillars of the Sarbanes Oxley act, its implications and impacts. It also involves the reaction of the European Union, especially introducing the 4th directive. The summary and generalization of this bachelor thesis is provided in the conclusion.

On syntax of the written reports in the journalistic style
Hladíková, Helena ; Lehečková, Eva (advisor) ; Adam, Robert (referee)
The thesis provides a summary of knowledge about the syntax of reports in the literature and also describes the syntactic phenomenon in the written reports. Study data consists of reports about several important events in the period from January to April 2010. These reports have been written in the serious dailies, the chapter about headlines is partly reflected the tabloid press. In the first part I deal with a comparison of sections of literature devoting to journalistic language. Based on this comparison I conclude that the fundamental differences between the journalistic and linguistic literature lie in the way of giving information about the language and in the manner of distributing this information. The middle part is devoted to syntactic characteristic of the headlines from selected texts of reports. Essentially, I analyze the types of syntactic structures of headlines and the results from my analysis demonstrated that the predominant headlines are single clauses and that there is often a specific structure with a colon. The last section analyzes the construction of written reports and the occurrence of several syntactic phenomenon in the texts of these reports. According to my analyse, the compound and complex sentences are in the text more often than single clauses, in terms of textual...

Terminative and resultative verbal periphrasis in Spanish and Portuguese
Hrobská, Eva ; Čermák, Petr (advisor) ; Kratochvílová, Dana (referee)
This diploma thesis is dedicated to the topic of Terminative and resultative verbal periphrasis in Spanish and Portuguese and is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. In the first part, we give a general summary and classification of verbal periphrasis with an emphasis on the terminative and resultative ones. Included with the theoretical description there is also a subchapter about the situation in the Czech language which mainly discusses the question of verbal aspect. Subsequently, the theoretical results are compared in the second part of this work which is dedicated to a corpus analysis. We outline the frequency of chosen periphrasis in corpus in different types of documents but also the Czech translations. For this purpose, we were working with a parallel corpus InterCorp, more precisely Spanish and Portuguese subcorpus, but also with monolingual Spanish corpus CREA and monolingual Portuguese corpus Corpus do Português. In this part we have chosen the following periphrasis for the analysis: tener + participle, llevar + participle, estar + participle and salir + participle in Spanish and ter + participle, ficar + participle and sair + participle in Portuguese. In both languages we have chosen both active and passive resultative periphrasis.

Dramatic versions of Faustian theme
Máchová, Irena ; Sílová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Salzmannová, Eva (referee)
In my diploma work I deal with the staging of Faust in A Studio Rubin theatre, I focus on a character of Margaret who I acted. In the first part I walk through my personal acknowledgements related to the process of rehearsing, to the problem of alternance and to the cellar space that the staging took place in. The second part is dedicated to the questions of Russian theatre-scientists who in their enquiry deal with the actor´s work from the psychological point of view. I put these questions to the actress Eva Salzmannová and I added the interview about Faust and part of Margaret from her point of view as well. In the very end of my work I try to resume what the work on the part of Margaret gave me to my further actor´s progress. As an appendix I attach facts about Faust in Czech countries, biographies of J. W. Goethe, ?his predecessor? Christopher Marlowe, my diary from the year 2003 ? a reflection from the time I rehearsed Faust and as the last one the critics of the ?Theatre magazine? on our performance in A Studio Rubín.

Otýpka, Jan ; Cipín, Radoslav (referee) ; Patočka, Miroslav (advisor)
In this work deals with magnetic fields for use in biomedicine. This solution involves the choice of the correct geometric arrangement of coils for generating magnetic field with a homogeneous distribution of magnetic induction of the widest possible area. The paper compares thre traditional types of coils, solenoid, toroid and Helmholtz coil. For Helmholtz and solenoid coil and is then carried out an analysis of the magnetic flux density in the inner space. Next part is devoted to electrical resonance in the LC circuit. This is then utilized for the development of pulsed magnetic field in the Helmholtz coil. It summarizes the theoretical and practical knowledge to design and construction of resonant converters. The end is devoted to the measurement of circuit parameters and verification of theoretical knowledge.

Recognition in virtual space : critical theory in the age of internet
Řeháček, Martin ; Dvořák, Tomáš (advisor) ; Holeček, Tomáš (referee)
The concept of recognition in the social sciences has occured since the time of Hegel and works as a category referring to the intersubjective aspect of life. Axel Honneth, the representative of the new critical theory, builds on Hegel and develops a new concept of recognition, which would meet today's demands for improved conditions of existence. They are now also determined by the new media at the forefront of the Internet and social networks. In the first part of my thesis I dealt with Hegel's concept of recognition, the relationship between master and servant and technology and nature. Then I went on with a performance of critical theory, its foundations, and with the representatives and the factors that could lead to emancipation. Consequently I concerned with the theory of Axel Honneth that seeks to advance critical thinking in a new era. The section on the new media dealt with changes that occured in the process of transition to electronic reality. I analyzed influence of television, computer technology, internet and social networking on social reality and its potential in relation to increasing recognition in the society.
