A false portrait of Beatrice Cenci and its influence on art and literature from 18th to 21th century

This study examines the rich iconographic tradition of a painting by an unknown artist from the collections of Galleria Nazionale in Rome's Palazzo Barberini. The baroque picture depicting the bust of a young woman wearing a plain white robe and a cloth around the head in the fashion of a turban, was erroneously identified at the end of the 18th century as portrait of the Italian noblewoman Beatrice Cenci, who was executed in 1599 for complicity in the murder of her father Francesco Cenci. As Francesco had been jailed for many crimes and was known for tyrannical treatment of his family, general sympathy went out to Beatrice. She was admired for her beauty and the courage with which she faced imprisonment and torture. The dramatic case was exacerbated by a suspicion raised by the Cenci lawyer that Francesco had sexually abused his daughter Beatrice. Although this suspicion has never been confirmed, it brought Beatrice the aureole of a martyr. General fascination with the lot of the young noblewoman became a romantic legend at the time of Beatrice's imprisonment. In popular oral tradition it lived on for several centuries. Selection of partner with special regard to primary family

My thesis is focused on influence of primary family to life partner selection. The thesis goal is to show reader integrated overview of information regarding this topic. Theoretical part contains four main chapters focusing on family and marriage definition (or partnership), love and partner choosing. The thesis stress family importance for personality formation and for life partner selection. Definition of love is determined as well as introduction of some theories of love and life partner selection. In practical part, there is psychological research and evaluation of started goals and hypotheses based on it. Aspiration was to find out, if there is any influence between opposite sex parent characteristic and partner selection. Within the scope of this research, there was established relation between partner selection and mother dominance characteristic.

The Comparison of Websites of Selected Worldwide Cties

The main goal of this thesis is to create a methodology for comparison of web pages of worldwide cities and to apply it on the selected websites. Introductory theoretical part describes the history and the present of web pages and shows their categorization, technologies, key statistics and reasons of rising significance of city websites with emphasis on e-Government. The official web pages of London, New York and Sydney are compared. These are modern world-known cities comparable in population, used languages and the overall attractiveness. Methodology of comparison tries to be objective, universal and reusable. It evaluates the websites with a set of criteria divided into 4 domains: graphical design, usability, accessibility and information content. In the end the final ratings are determined as weighted averages of criteria and domains.

Thesis describes initial public offering on the stock markets. There are mentioned basic phases of this process. In this thesis is named pros & cons of this source of financing. Recommends also other ways how to gain capital for own company business acitivities. Thesis is interested about main conditions for successfull "going public". Initial Public Offering of bonds is described too. Practical part of this thesis is concern IPO in the Czech Republic -- historical data, IPO in the past on Prague Stock Exchange, commentary of well-known stock-market analysts, graphs of stock prices in comparison with the main stock index PX.

Corporate social responsibility and the methods of its measurement

The first chapter of the thesis is examining the topicality of corporate social responsibility. It pursues the historical progress of the concept, defines the fields of action for CSR, lists the particular activities and analyses the motivation of companies for such behavior. The second chapter attempts to answer the question why should we measure CSR and how should we report sustainability according to GRI standards. It also describes the known methods of CSR measurement in relationship with corporate performance. The third chapter introduces the company Johnson & Johnson. It analyses and rates the most recent company report of sustainability form 2007. In the conclusion the author presents his opinion on the given problems of measurement and reporting CSR activities.

The Jewish business activities in the Czech Republic

This thesis focuses on the special chapter of Czech economic history - the Jewish business activities. Its goal is to point out the importance, which Jewry has given to the economics in Czech countries. The first chapter focuses on the industrial revolution, when the great success in industry and business had occurred; the second one describes progress of the industries and points out the role of Jewish companies and financial institutions. The next chapter is devoted to Petschek, Gutmann and Rothschild families, which had influenced economic and political life in Czech Republic. The last chapter bears the interestingness about lives and enterprise of the most widely known businessmen and their companies, still famous, which make the Czech Republic well-known abroad. Analysis of the need for social services at the halfway house in the region of the Czech Budejovice

Analysis of the need for social services called the Halfway House in the region of České Budějovice.? The service called the Halfway House is used by clients aged 18 to 26, who leave children?s homes, educational institutions, who come from prisons or compulsory treatment. Within the framework of his thesis, I focused on clients from orphanages. The objective of my thesis is to perform monitoring and subsequent forecasting of the development of the social service called the Halfway House in the region of The thesis is divided into two parts. A theoretical part and a practical one. The theoretical part describes the options of foster and institutional care. In addition, it describes a family that is an essential part of the development of every individual personality and its influence on future human life. It also describes the Halfway House and the services provided to its users. Specifically, a halfway house in České Budějovice and in Český Krumlov are described there. The practical part defines the objectives of this thesis and it describes the actual research, including the discussion of the obtained results with the findings of other authors, which are mentioned in the theoretical part. The actual research was carried out quantitatively using the questioning method - the technique of interviews with respondents from children?s homes as well as the method of document analysis - the technique of secondary data and content analysis. The interviews were conducted in three children?s homes. They were children?s homes in Žíchovec, Boršov nad Vltavou and Horní Planá. The interviews with all the respondents were processed and subsequently summarized in the final discussion. The outcome of the research is the finding that the users children?s homes in the region of České Budějovice perceive the need of the social service called the Halfway House as needed. The thesis will be used to map the need for the social service the Halfway House in the region of České Budějovice and to find out about the informedness about the offer this service. Moreover, the thesis will be used to identify the sources of informedness about the service. The results could be used to improve the situation in the field of social services in the region.

Professional career of the woman

The target of this bachelor thesis is to sketch out the puzzle around the professional career of a woman from several points of view. The first chapter is focused on professional career as such. It informs the reader, among other things, about the stages, which does man go through during his professional life or the most widely known teories of professional career. It then introduces ways of how do organisations take part in development of professional career of an employee. The second chapter engages in legislative anchorage in both national and international field. The third chapter attends professional career of a woman throghout history, but also at present-day situation. Alongside it this thesis deals with facts that distinguish the career of a woman from the career of a man. The last fourth chapter outline the puzzle of harmonisation of a professional and family life, because this area distinctively influences the situation of women on the labour market.
