Physical exercise in diabetes mellitus 2 type patients
Pelíšková, Pavlína ; Kohlíková, Eva (advisor) ; Vokrouhlický, Lubor (referee) ; Vrablík, Michal (referee)
Problem: Aerobic endurance exercise is traditionally considered the best motoric activity in Type 2 diabetes mellitus patients. The most recommended form is continuous training at a defined level of intensity. Interval training is less used despite its proven effectiveness given by the possibility of applying a higher training load. Hypothesis: Long-term individually prescribed physical exercise therapy in Type 2 DM patients treated with diet and oral antidiabetics is demonstrably and objectively beneficial for these patients concerning their health condition, as shown by the metabolic compensation and anthropometric and fitness parameters. Physical exercise therapy described here helps to improve the patients' health condition in short the term and maintain it in the long term. Objective: Our aim is to prove the positive effect of a long-term individually adapted regular physical exercise therapy in type 2 DM patients. Method: The research sample consisted of Type 2 diabetes mellitus patients (male and female) after termination of insulin therapy and its replacement by oral anti-diabetic drugs. A group of 31 patients treated with oral antidiabetics, diet and existing physical regimen is being compared with a group of 31 patients treated with diet, antidiabetics and defined physical exercise...

Němčík, Lukáš ; Duffková, Jana (advisor) ; Jandová, Dobroslava (referee)
Spa in the Czech Republic With a focus on spa Jeseník, Luhačovice, Třeboň and Františkovy Lázně As the subject of my work I chose the Czech Republic spa. I look at the spa environment as a social phenomenon that affects many areas of social life and has a great tradition in Czech culture. With its unique atmosphere and the composition of the clients who visit them, they are more than just popular places by tourists or health facilities but they have also influence on the life of the living there and spa visitors. The work is intended to serve as a general base that could be suitable for further exploration of this area, and therefore tries to cover as many areas of the issue as possible. I try to work with examples from history to point out the role of the spa in the past and how they gradually transformed into what they are today. I also look at services that are offered at the spa and the structure of clients who come to the spa. My field of interest was also the formation of spa towns and life in them. This area is distinguished from others for a large number of changing spa clients. In my work I also did a probe between clients and employees of spa Jeseník, Luhačovice, Třeboň and Františkovy Lázně. With it, I was able to outline some of the differences between the various spas. Spas in the...

Nurse assistance in personal patient heath care education
ČERNÍKOVÁ, Jitka
The topic of my thesis is "Nurse Assistant in Patients Self-Care Education". Education in Nursing has certainly an irreplaceable position. Amputation means removing the peripheral portion of the body, mostly of a limb.Education is a very important element and an integral part of the nursing process, which aims to prevent the disease, teaching or restoration of health and plays a major role in improving the quality of life of the individual. Education of patients after lower limb amputation begins on the first day after surgery and ends with the release client for home care. An interaction between the nurse and the client after leg amputation is very important part of the education. To meet the client's effort to be educated is the responsibility of the nurse to try to gradually engage the client in education. If the client is unable to cooperate with the nurse, she tries to engage the client´s family into the education.Nursing care for patients after amputation of the lower limbs is extensive. In the early period after surgery, nurse teaches the client's breathing and then the fitness exercises. Nurses educate clients after leg amputation especially in the training of care stump, walking on crutches with help of another person, and then walk on crutches without the support of another person and in the final stage to walk with a prosthesis attached. The aim of this work was to identify methods of education of clients while practicing self-care. With this objective, related research question is "What are the educational methods used by clients during training while practicing self-care." To obtain the necessary data was carried out through non-standardized interview with nurses working at the departments where nurses caring of clients after amputation of the lower limbs in a hospital of České Budějovice a.s.To meet the objectives of the thesis on "Nurse Assistant in Patients Self-Care Education" was chosen qualitative investigation. Data collection was chosen semi-structured interview, containing twelve questions. .The interview was conducted with randomly selected nurses who work in a hospital of České Budějovice. Six interviews were carried out.The research sample was consisted of nurses working in a hospital of České Budějovice. These nurses work at the surgical department and department of aftercare and were asked to their objective data: age, length of experience.Research was conducted with the approval of the head nurse of České Budějovice hospital. After reaching the head nurse, followed cooperation with the senior department nurse of surgical department and department of aftercare. The results of the research investigation are clear to show that there was to meet the predetermined goal. The research question was to acquire the necessary response. The research showed that nurses in educating clients, after lower limb amputation during training stump care and practice walking on crutches, use the oral methods of instruction and practical demonstrations. Instruction and practical demonstration is performed by nurses using the spoken word, exceptionally, a written word.Survey of this thesis answers the research question that educational methods are distinguished according to whether the education is for practicing care stump or practice walking on crutches. To determine the results of the research was used qualitative data collection by interview. The interview contained twelve questions. There were six interviews carried out with the nurses from the hospital of České Budějovice, working in the surgical ward and aftercare department. The results show that there has been compliance with predetermined objectives and the research question we got the answers you need.An information material was developed, based on the results of the research, designated to nurses working in the hospital of České Budějovice, taking care of clients after leg amputation.

Rate of investigation users of drugs
VÁVROVÁ, Marie
This diploma thesis is focused on testing drug users. Specifically, this thesis is concerned with testing drug users in low-threshold centres. These low-threshold centres for drug users operate in the area of secondary and tertiary prevention. Furthermore, it describes individual diseases such as HIV, HBV, HCV and syphilis, their mode of transmission, clinical course, diagnosis, treatment and possible prevention, drug policy of the Czech Republic, the conditions for testing the abovementioned diseases in low-threshold centres and the legal framework for testing at these facilities. The practical part is divided into several research studies. The qualitative research is aimed at low-threshold centres. In this part, I am trying to determine the number of HIV, HBV and HCV tests performed in 2014. Next, the purpose of this section is also to define where the testing takes place and who is tested. The research data were obtained using a questionnaire distributed to the low-threshold centres in the CR. According to the Annual Report on Drug Epidemiology from 2014, there are 76 low-threshold centres in the Czech Rep. A total of 32 questionnaires were collected. The questionnaire consisted of 32 questions. Close-ended questions were used to detect the type of facility, whether the facility carries out tests for the chosen types of diseases, what type of test is used, who performs the testing and where the testing is carried out. Open-ended questions were used to determine the number of people tested. The qualitative research consists of 18 interviews with drug users from the Contact Centre Český Krumlov. Thanks to its field program, this centre operates in Český Krumlov, Větřní, Kaplice, Horní Planá, Loučovice, Frymburk, Vyšší Brod and in border regions such as Horní and Dolní Dvořiště or Studánky where the drug abuse is very problematic. The data were collected using a semistructured anonymous interview. The interview consisted of 4 areas:Data for identification purposes. Drug history.Testing.Awareness.30 questionnaires received from the respondents at the Prevent Contact Centre in České Budějovice can be found in the Appendix. The data were collected using an anonymous questionnaire which consisted of three basic areas. The collected data included drug history and identification information, information about testing for infectious diseases and knowledge of health risks. The thesis states 6 goals. The first 3 goals deal with mapping of HBV, HCV and HIV testing among drug users at low-threshold centres in 2014. The purpose of the fourth goal is to determine how the testing is carried out in low-threshold centres. The fifth goal attempts to establish whether drug users are interested in HBV, HCV and HIV testing. Finally, the sixth goal determines whether drug users were tested in 2014.After processing the results I established the following hypotheses which resulted from the research.H1: Drug users are interested in their health.H2:Drug users are aware of risks that result from these diseases.H3: The possibility of testing at low-threshold centres is not chosen very often by drug users. The research showed that drug users have adequate information about the risks that are associated with drug injection and injecting equipment sharing, but the average amount of performed tests is relatively low.To sum up, drug users need to be constantly informed about the importance of regular testing. In order to increase the number of tested people, it would be advisable to adapt the testing to the users' needs and also to perform more tests within field programs. It would also be helpful to link health facilities to contact centres locally.

Attitude of Society to Physical Activities in the Context of the Historical Development
DVOŘÁKOVÁ, Sára
Physical inactivity is one of the main problems of the 21th century. Low level of activity of the population is closely related to many lifestyle diseases. That is the reason why it is very important to find out which historical changes have led to today's low physical activity level. In this bachelor thesis I deal with the attitude of today's society towards physical activities in the context of historical development. I set three goals. The first one is to chart retrospectively the evolution of physical activities in the society. The second goal is to find out if in the past people were more active than nowadays. The last objective is focused on the description of historical changes which might have led to nowadays low physical activity level. This bachelor thesis is only theoretical. The beginning of this thesis is focused on the explanation of the basic terms associated with physical activity. The following chapter discusses the physical activity itself. The next parts of the thesis are focused on different periods of human history. The first historical period that I deal with is Prehistory. In the prehistoric times, physical activity was associated with survival. Physical fitness determined whether the prehistoric man obtains food, is victorious in battles, or is able to resist various types of danger. Because of these reasons, the attitude of the society towards physical activities was mainly practical, but at this time first sports also started to develop. The following part of this thesis focuses on the physical activities in slave countries. Physical activities like archery, wrestling, or infighting were permitted only within certain higher classes. A variety of treatment systems were developed in some Asian countries. The thesis deals with movement activities in ancient Greece as well. In this chapter, the emphasis is on the creation of the Olympic Games, the ideal of kalokagathia and physical education in Sparta and Athens. The next era included in this thesis is the Middle Ages. In this chapter is a description of the differences between the physical activities in the countryside and the city. Physical activities of the aristocracy are included as well. The Modern Times part of this thesis is mainly focused on the development of the physical education and its inclusion in the school curriculum systems. The fundamental change in this period that affected the attitude toward physical activities was the industrial revolution and the related migration of people from rural to urban areas. As a result of this change, the new era of sedentary lifestyle began and that's causing us a lot of problems now. Modern Times brought a big change to the whole attitude towards physical activity. Nowadays, physical activity is seen as one of the forms of recreation. The last part of this thesis is focused on the 20th century. This chapter discusses mainly the problem of the lack of physical activity. In the end, the changes that led to today's low physical activity level are summarized. I used professional literature and internet sources to study the problem. In conclusion, I evaluated all of the information collected within my research. From them is clear that the attitude towards physical activities has changed dramatically since Prehistory. From my literature research is also following that the problem with inactivity and the health issues linked to inactivity started being a problem at the 2nd half of 20th century. Due to a big importance of physical activity and its ability to prevent many diseases I would suggest to increase the physical activity level more in a free time activities. I think that this thesis pointing out one of the main problems of today's society and I think that this work could serve as a source of information for the public.

Injury prevention related to falls of the residents of Home for the elderly.
SOUKUPOVÁ, Hana
The diploma thesis is structured into a theoretical part and an empirical part. The theoretical part consists of four chapters. The empirical part of the diploma thesis is based on qualitative research. The data were collected via semi-structured interviews with the senior citizens and the nurses. The replies were processed into clearly arranged charts and categories with brief descriptions. Another research method applied was observation. The interviews were followed by a detailed analysis of the documentation, which involved the analysis of the medical records of the senior citizens with a focus on medical diagnosis, chronic medication, and processing of the fall risk and its evaluation. The diploma thesis pursued three objectives by means of four related research questions. The first objective was to ascertain the extent of the clients' awareness of fall risks. The second objective was to assess the discomfort associated with usage of the special device preventing hip joint injuries resulting from falls during common everyday activities of the senior citizens. Finally, the third objective was to obtain the opinions of the healthcare staff on working with clients wearing special devices preventing the hip joint injuries. Four research questions were formulated in connection with these three objectives. Research question No. 1: What is the quality of information provided by the healthcare staff as part of the preventive intervention regarding the falls? Research question No. 2: How willing are the clients to accept changes contributing to fall prevention? Research question No. 3: To what extent is the comfort of the client affected by using special devices preventing fall-related hip joint injuries? Research question No. 4: To what extent is the work of the healthcare staff affected if their clients use devices preventing fall-related hip joint injuries? The results of the qualitative research suggest that the extent of information provided by the healthcare staff as part of the preventive intervention regarding the falls is insufficient in terms of awareness of the risky places. In particular, the research revealed that the nurses fail to sufficiently monitor the effects of chronic medication which may contribute to psycho-motor inhibition of the senior clients. As far as mobility aids are concerned, the nurses offer these devices sufficiently. The nurses demonstrated very good knowledge of all the mobility aids which may facilitate self-reliance of the senior clients. Another problematic issue is the safety of the rooms, particularly in terms of various protrusions and unevenness in the bathrooms. The results of the research do not show any unwillingness of the clients to accept changes contributing to fall prevention. Nevertheless, two of the respondents failed to engage in the activities and maintain physical fitness by regular exercise in the Retirement House. Furthermore, the results do not show any limitation of the clients' comfort resulting from using special devices preventing fall-related hip joint injuries. Finally, according to the research the healthcare staff does not feel restricted in any way when working with senior clients using such device. The results of the research will be used for repeated meetings with the senior clients and particularly with the nurses. The management of the Retirement House, together with the healthcare staff, are working on a new educational material which would indicate risky places with increased probability of falls. These results could be beneficial also for other facilities where healthcare staff takes care of senior citizens. Last but not least, the results are of interest also to the health insurance companies which could provide this special device with at least partial subsidy as part of the primary prevention programme.

Evaluation of cardiorespiratory capacity of sportsmen and obese patients measured by spiroergometry (Oxycon)
Kieu Thi, Thanh Hai ; Vilikus, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Nguyen, Hong Vu (referee)
The objective of this thesis is to evaluate the cardiorespiratory fitness of sportsmen and obese patients through the medium of spiroergometry on cycloergometer by virtue of the analyzer of exhaled gas (Oxycon). Its advantage is that the measurement takes place "on- line", therefore it allows prompt monitoring of measured spiroergometric parameters directly on screen of computer that forms part of the analyzer. The spiroergometry is a method of determining the cardiorespiratory fitness through the medium of analyzer of exhaled gas in order to state the physical fitness. For statistical evaluation of differences in values of spiroergometric indicators between these two observed groups of patients I used the Student's unpaired T-test. The theoretical part contains an introduction into the issue of obesity, obesity epidemiology, history, aetiology and health risks of this disease, classification, diagnostics, treatment, and recommendations and advices for patients. Furthermore it contains terms as sports medicine, influence of motional activity on human organism, cardiorespiratory fitness, spiroergometry methodology, and spiroergometric parameters. The practical part contains a description of spiroergometric measuring process at the Institute of Sports Medicine at the 1st Faculty of Medicine of the...
