Tušková, Barbora ; Gullová, Soňa (advisor) ; Klosová, Anna (referee)
The topic of this bachelor thesis is an analysis of the current problems at the global oil market. The thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter provides general information related to oil (origin, production, transportation, the largest oil companies, OPEC). The main part of the thesis is devoted to the actual analysis of problems at the oil market. The work is primarily focused on the rising price of oil and the factors that push the price up, also on the change in the oil resources, on wars and unrests in the mining areas and, finally, on the environment. The last chapter discusses the possible oil alternatives for the future.
The change of OPECs market power after the first oil shock
Celer, Martin ; Tajovský, Ladislav (advisor) ; Chalupecký, Petr (referee)
In 1973 the world was hit by first, intentional, oil shock. It was caused by relatively new organization OPEC which imposed trade embargo on some western countries supporting Israel during Jom Kipur war. This oil shock which had deep impact on global economics was in fact due to long lasting friction between recently founded OPEC and cartel of oil producing companies known as "Seven sisters". These companies and OPEC led mutual negotiations concerning purchasing oil prices. In this work I intend to analyze the changes of OPEC power following the first oil shock and to prove that this power has substantially increased. I will achieve this by analyzing relationships between both players on the oil market and literature sources concerning time period being in concern.

The aim is to analyze how much the Libyan Civil War influences the development of oil prices on world markets. The second main point of this work is to determine to what extent the current situation in the country could damage the Libyan economy. Much of the information comes from documents and statistics of the U. S. Energy Information Administration, the International Energy Agency and the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries.

Position of The Middle East Countries in The World Trade
I v současné době si Střední východ stále udržuje pozici důležitého dodavatele ropy.
EU and OPEC: energy dialogue
Šimčíková, Eunika ; Adamcová, Lenka (advisor) ; Vondrušková, Barbora (referee)
Oil is a strategic raw material for many sectors of national economies. For oil extracting countries it represents a comparative advantage to those who do not have this privilege. The European Union is by 80% dependent on oil imports and OPEC has a 40% share of the world oil production. In the same way regular and safe energy supply matters for the EU, export markets are equally essential for OPEC. The EU-OPEC bilateral cooperation started in 2005 in order to enhance producer-consumer dialogue during a period characterized by growing crude oil prices and uncertainties on oil markets. Concerning the strategy, EU aims at more stable and transparent crude oil prices and markets, more attractive investment climate, better analysis and cooperation in developing new technologies. OPEC seeks to assure regular oil supply to consumers and to contribute to stable oil prices. Five meetings have taken place so far. Among some of the discussed topics were: crude oil prices, carbon capture and storage technologies, biofuels and others alternative sources of energy, investment in oil sector, human resources and data transparency.
