Detection of Interrupted Friction Ridges of a Fingerprint and Their Reconstruction
Cejpek, Tomáš ; Dvořák, Radim (referee) ; Stružka, Jaroslav (advisor)
This Bachelor thesis describes creating application with graphical user interface for editing a fingerprint ridges. They are interrupted due to dry fingerprint. The proposed algorithm uses Gabor filter for editing fingerprint ridges. He is implemented in C++ and uses a library aimed at work with images OpenCV and Qt application for creating graphical user interface. The thesis is also about testing and evaluating the results of a proposed algorithm for editing fingerprint ridges.
Face Recognition
Keršner, Martin ; Mlích, Jozef (referee) ; Juránek, Roman (advisor)
The thesis deals with Face Recognition. The aim was to study the various methods of feature extraction and determine their influence on the success of recognition. The methods of feature extraction include the Local Binary Pattern, Histogram Of Oriented Gradients and Gabor Filter. Face recognition of image similarity will be described. Support Vectore Machines was used in the experiments. Experimentally determined parameters of the most successful methods were used in the system for simple Face Recognition.
Biologically Inspired Methods of Object Recognition
Vaľko, Tomáš ; Hradiš, Michal (referee) ; Juránek, Roman (advisor)
Object recognition is one of many tasks in which the computer is still behind the human. Therefore, development in this area takes inspiration from nature and especially from the function of the human brain. This work focuses on object recognition based on extracting relevant information from images, features. Features are obtained in a similar way as the human brain processes visual stimuli. Subsequently, these features are used to train classifiers for object recognition (e.g. SVM, k-NN, ANN). This work examines the feature extraction stage. Its aim is to improve the feature extraction and thereby increase performance of object recognition by computer.
Visual Enhancement of Ultrasound Images
Vaňhara, Jaromír ; Kršek, Přemysl (referee) ; Španěl, Michal (advisor)
Ultrasound imaging is widely used in medical examination. However, the interpretation of images is not trivial and requires much experience. In this thesis, various techniques for enhancement of visual quality of ultrasound images are presented. Several basic and advanced methods that may simplify the visual diagnosis are described. Finally, an interactive application is designed and implemented for simple usage of presented methods.
Parametrization of Image Point Neighborhood
Zamazal, Zdeněk ; Bařina, David (referee) ; Zemčík, Pavel (advisor)
This master thesis is focused on parametrization of image point neighborhood. Some methods for point localization and point descriptors are described and summarized. Gabor filter is described in detail. The practical part of thesis is chiefly concerned with particle filter tracking system. The weight of each particle is determined by the Gabor filter.
Experiments with Images of Eye Retina
Floryček, Jan ; Orság, Filip (referee) ; Fiala, Jiří (advisor)
The layout of blood vessels in human eye retina is one of the important physiological biometric characteristics of every individual. The processing of color retinal images and extraction of the blood vessel structure is an important phase in diagnostics of many eye diseases as well as in gathering biometric data. An automatic method for image processing, extracting the blood vessel structure and saving a template for usage in a biometric system will be described in this bachelor thesis. The method was developed and tested on actual retinal images acquired by digital fundus camera and it was implemented in language C++ with the use of OpenCV library. This thesis also contains a brief introduction to biometrics, computer graphics and medicine.
Automatic Quality Improvement of a Fingerprint Image
Blaho, Vojtěch ; Lodrová, Dana (referee) ; Dluhoš, Ondřej (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is focused on enhancement the quality of fingerprint image and its qualitative evaluation. In the first part is defined term of a fingerprint image, the main characteristics features are analyzed and the most important properties to define a good quality image. The next chapter describes the method to determine the fingerprint image quality and regards with this method used in the SDK from Innovatrics in detail. The third chapter provides detailed acquaint with each step in enhancing the image using a method based on Gabor filter. The final part is devoted to the experimental results. It is generally difficult to create a method that would enhancement any fingerprint. Therefore, it would be appropriate to use the program to tune this method for a particular type of fingerprint or for a specific scanner.
Fingerprints Generator
Chaloupka, Radek ; Orság, Filip (referee) ; Drahanský, Martin (advisor)
Algorithms for fingerprints recognition are already known for long time and there is also an effort for their best optimization. This master's thesis is dealing with an opposite approach, where the fingerprints are not being recognized, but are generated on the minutiae position basis. Such algorithm is then free of the minutiae detection from image and enhancements of fingerprints. Results of this work are the synthetic images generated according to few given parameters, especially minutiae.
Forensic Optical Fingerprint Comparator
Dvořák, Marek ; Klubal, Ondřej (referee) ; Drahanský, Martin (advisor)
My Bachelor Thesis deals with the design and creation of an application that replaces the function of forensic optical comparator. It also describes features of fingerprints and their prominent points, which are used for recognition of individuals. Work with fingerprints is very sensitive as for the quality of images. For this reason a Gabor filter has been implemented and described. Furthermore, the thesis describes basic functions used for work with images.
Fingerprint biometry
Smékal, Ondřej ; Drahanský, Martin (referee) ; Fedra, Petr (advisor)
Algorithms designed for identification and verification persons by fingerprints recognition are spread and used as in forensics aplications as in private sector for a long time. The aim of this thesis is to make us aquainted with various aplicated mathematic models of fingerprint processing in digital way. Second task is the presentation algorithmic solution of chosen subject identification procedure by force of Fingerprint matching. Algorithm is solid in the development environment platform Matlab.
