The Comparison of the education systems in England and in the Czech Republic
Uhlířová, Klára ; Vostrovská, Zdenka (advisor) ; Kotýnková, Magdalena (referee)
The goal of my bachelor thesis is the Comparison of the education systems in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, particularly England, and in the Czech Republic focusing on the tertiary education. I have chosen this topic because of the constantly discussed Czech government's intention to introduce tuition at Czech public universities. In England, the system of tuitions at universities has been practised for many years. The thesis analyses only public universities, private universities are not mentioned. Also, the thesis analyses the structure of the tertiary systems in England and in the Czech Republic. The thesis describes current funding for the British and Czech education. The thesis shows the amount of financial resources from the state budget of the Czech Republic required to finance one university student. I try to clarify why the reform in the Czech Republic is needed. The thesis shows the latest tuition policy proposal of the Czech government. The thesis compares Czech and British tertiary systems on the basic of the SWOT analysis. It also deals with the assertion tertiary education graduates on the labour markets of both countries. The end of the thesis formulates the recommendation, which can serve as a basic for tuition policy in the Czech Republic.

Specifics of nursing care fot patients with tinitus
PÁNKOVÁ, Zuzana
Tinnitus is the technical term for an unpleasant perception of the inner sound source, i.e. for rustle, which may be known as the noise in the head, fizz and ringing in the ears. Symptoms of tinnitus feels about 15% of the population. At the age of 65 years it has been almost every second. Tinnitus is not itself considered as a disease, but as a symptom, which may be a sign of other health problems, mental and physical kind. We distinguish subjective and objective tinnitus. Objective can hear usually and another man, subjective not, it is actually audible hallucinations, which occurs in most cases. Tinnitus is considered one of the great mysteries of human ear. Exposure to intense noise increases the risk of its occurrence. For example, frequent stays in noisy ambience, such as concerts, music festivals, night clubs or listening to music players at high volume levels. An accompanying physical symptom is often a hearing loss. A possible cause may be even injuries of the head, neck, vascular disease, or just an ear inflammation. It is recommended to avoid foods with excessive levels of salt, alcohol, nicotine, caffeine and some painkillers. For the diagnosis of tinnitus is required to undergo the complex medical examination, which includes a summary of the case history, medical examination and the audiological assessment. The first step is to visit a general practitioner and an otolaryngologist. Currently there is no approved drug specifically for the treatment of tinnitus. Most treatment options are based on the suppression of tinnitus, together with a reduction of stress. The patient can be helped by improving circulation in the blood vessels and in the cochlea. Therapy can also include elements of education, such as relaxation techniques and psychological therapy. There is the possibility of alternative treatments (acupuncture). This disease is due to its character very demanding on the psyche of the patient. People affected by tinnitus complain of impaired quality of rest and sleep, but also concentration, suffer mentally and physically. Often are they irritated and due to difficulties feel the uncomfortableness, what a relationship with their surroundings disturbs even more. They can have serious psychic problems. An integral part in the diagnosis and treatment of tinnitus, is a nurse. Audiometric examination is carried out by an audiological nurse, aligns the body and the head during otoscopic examination, blood draw and obviously has great effect on the mental preparation of the patient. During therapy nurse establishes a peripheral venous catheter, it is responsible for the proper application of vasodilator infusions, which consists not only in knowledge of the principles of administration of the infusion, but also in the proper patient education. Specificity of a work of nurses in hyperbaric oxygen therapy follows from a technical background, and the need for special physical, mental training and patient education. Research investigations have revealed the specifics of nursing care for patients with tinnitus, the most important seems to patient communication and education, furthermore, a specific examination methods (audiometry), the specifics of treatment (vasodilator infusions, hyperbaric oxygen therapy). The diversity in responses of patients to tintius, the impact of tinnitus on quality of life, needs and problems of patients with tinnitus - this all are the specifics, which nursing staff should know and adequately respond to them. The research shows, that the questioned nurses have general knowledge and skills in treating patients with tinnitus. They know the available investigative and therapeutic methods, problems of patients, know how to tinnitus evaluate and observe. Striking is the fact, that one interviewed nurse has had low professional skills with blood draw, venous catheter application and could not handle the preparation and application of a vasodilator infusion.

Importance of sources of central bank liquidity during the financial crisis. The development of the lender of last resort function
Laga, Václav ; Brůna, Karel (advisor) ; Šíma, Ondřej (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to document the importance of liquidity resources of central banks during banking panics and financial crises and analysis of the development of LLR function. We examined three historical examples: the banking panic of 1866, the Great Depression and the current financial crisis, and we focused on the interaction between the demand for liquidity on the one hand and the supply of liquidity by central banks on the other. On the wide historical background we also analysed the changes in the function of LLR. We present that a restrictive monetary policy during financial market distortions may lead to further disturbances and cause serious recession. The analysis of the BoE during 1866 and of the FED between 2007 and 2009, on the contrary shows that the expansionary stance and considerably endogenous liquidity supply are able to reduce financial market's distortions and mitigate possible recession. Analysis of FED's reaction also indicated that should the LLR remain efficient, central banks must expand their instruments portfolio.

Application of artetherapy with mentally handicapped persons
DVOŘÁKOVÁ, Veronika
Artetherapy with mentally handicapped persons is very extensive and diverse, just like various forms of mental retardation. The first objective of the present thesis was to ascertain which artetherapeutic procedures and art techniques can be applied when working with mentally handicapped clients. The second objective was to ascertain whether artetherapy helps to develop the overall personality in a positive way, whether it propitiously affects concentration, skilfulness and memory, or whether it supports creativity and socialization of the mentally handicapped. The third objective was to ascertain how mentally handicapped persons would react if they were given the opportunity to work creatively. To research the problems described, the author chose the quantitative technique. Methods applied were: observation, non-standard interview, content analysis of the data from medical and psychological documents and analysis of personal documents. The target group was 7 persons living in the ``Barevný svět{\crqq} Daily Centre. Having made use of previous knowledge, I made three hypotheses. H1: ``Mentally handicapped persons need a sufficient amount of time to acquire the technique that would help them express themselves more easily.{\crqq} H2: ``Artetherapy helps to develop the overall personality in a positive way, it propitiously affects concentration, skilfulness and positive thinking and last but not least, it supports creativity and socialization of the mentally handicapped.{\crqq} H3: ``Mentally handicapped persons positively react to the opportunity to work creatively, they are sincerely interested in this work, and they show great excitement about the results that they have achieved.{\crqq} The research has proved that the clients need to be given a lot of time to acquire painting and drawing techniques in order to express themselves in a better way. However, we must say that there is no single particular technique or procedure that we would be able to apply with each and every mentally handicapped person. The research results have confirmed that artetherapy helps to develop the overall personality, it propitiously affects concentration, skilfulness and positive thinking and last but not least, it supports creativity and socialization of the mentally handicapped. React to the opportunity to work creatively, they are sincerely interested in their work, and they show great excitement about the results that they have achieved.

Metaphor of female emotions
SCHULZOVÁ, Martina
The theoretic part will be dedicated to emotions in general. The status in society from the phylogenetic point of view, the emotional way and posibility to express her aggressive feelings in this trend. The special stress is put on aggression and its form in psychosomatic and art expression. The importance of maternal role (and its absence in coloured symbolism) will be also mentioned. In practical part my own atelier will be introduced firstly. Lastly I'll deal with these questions : -Why do trendy women want to draw ? -What type of women want to draw ? -Why do they draw exactly in my atelier and with me ? -What theme or technology do they choose and why ? Practical part contains women's casuistic and coloured enclosure related to aggression in art parable. Epilogue Usage of art therapy in atelier based on voluntary, interest and creative activity.

Space for Contemporary Art - Museum without Walls
Voskovcová, Klára ; Půtová, Barbora (referee)
Space for the Contemporary Art Or a Museum without Walls Thesis Regarding the ever growing number of museum institutions and exhibitions of contemporary art throughout the whole world, it may seem useless to consider the relationship between the museum of modern art and the current artistic expression. However, the history of art seems to rather neglect the impact of museums upon the artistic development as such. The museum is mostly perceived in the background rather and as an instrument by means of which the art gets to the people. The solid walls' institution however is not a mere "servant", to a great extent it is an element which participates in the responsibility about the development of art. Many creators of world renown directly dealt with the effect museums have upon the works of art and especially today most artists create their works concerned about their placement. It is interesting to observe the changing role of the museum in the course of history, to observe an obvious shift from a somewhat rigid institution with firm rules into the, up to now, very liberal, relaxed space, open for the maximum variety. The passing of time seems to have turned upside down the original constellation where the museum appeared as a filter rather, as the last instance, and art as an "applicant (candidate)". Almost...

Phenotype variability of the skeleton: asymmetry, sexual dimorphism and their changes in time
Bigoni, Lucie ; Velemínská, Jana (advisor) ; Sosna, Daniel (referee) ; Beňuš, Radoslav (referee)
This doctoral thesis is submitted in the form of science publications and conference presentations together with theoretical introduction. It presents several points of view on the variability evaluation in the skull (and postcranial skeleton), with accent on diachronic changes monitoring, asymmetry and sexual dimorphism. This study concentrates on analysis (using traditional and geometric morphometrics) of size and shape of the skull, limb bones and face in the samples originated in the region of the Czech Republic (Central Europe). The first one is a photographical documentation of the Upper Palaeolithic skulls from Předmostí near Přerov (age 25,000 - 27,000 years). The second material is represented by skulls and limb bones deriving from the Early Mediaeval settlement in Mikulčice (The Great Moravia, 9th - 10th century). The third sample originated in the 1930s in Prague, so called Pachner Collection. The last comparative sample presents radiographs of the head and 3D surface models of faces of the recent society. Study of skeletal asymmetry of populations (Bigoni et al., v recenzním řízení, 2005; Kujanová et al., 2008), its level and localization, enables us to compare behavioral patterns, living conditions, socioeconomic differences and variability within and between populations (Mikulčice vs....

Body mass changes during breeding in birds
Drekslerová, Šárka ; Hořák, David (advisor) ; Klvaňa, Petr (referee)
Body mass is one of the criteria estimating individual's body condition and predicates an ability to cope with environmental conditions. To maintain the body condition the individual needs energy supply. In my essay I am concerned with life-history strategies of birds through the adjustment with increased energy demands during incubation period and with changes in body mass relating with these strategies. The individual can cover energy requirements directly from food ("income breeder") or make an energy storage in advance and draw the energy later during breeding ("capital breeder"). According to the type of breeding environment, access of strategy evolves and how changes its body mass in consequence of the elected strategy. Income breeding occur in small birds in good predictable environment with high food abundance and it is characterized by varying body mass changes. In contrast, capital breeding occur in hardly predictable environments or in cold areas with low food abu ndance and it is characterized by linear mass loss. Body mass has a great influence on breeding success. Female make a decision to breed or not based on her body condition. Breeding with female bad body conditon incerases a risk of abandoning the nest and nest failure. Another important factors are e.g. the weather, age of breeding...

Vibrace vyvolané proudem tekutiny 2008
Zolotarev, Igor ; Horáček, Jaromír
Flow-induced vibrations and noise continue to cause problems in a wide range of engineering applications, ranging from mechanical and aerospace engineering, civil engineering and ship and offshore structures to power generation and chemical processing. These proceedings bring together 139 papers dealing with a variety of topics relating to flow-induced vibration and noise, such as:vortex-induced vibration, vibration of heat-exchanger tube bundles, progress in fluid-structure interaction theory and CFD simulations, flow-sound interaction, biomechanics of voice and hearing, thermo-acoustic instabilities, vibration of hydraulic structures, gates, turbomachines nad piping systems. The contents of this publication constitute a „mixture“ of investigations by those working on the mechanisms of vibration and means of their alleviation, and studies by those in industry who draw on the present state of knowledge of these mechanisms to avoid or solve flow induced vibratin and noise problems in industrial and other applications.
