Comparative analysis of the current system of funding universities in the Czech Republic and in selected OECD countries
Kocián, Petr ; Vostrovská, Zdenka (advisor) ; Barák, Vladimír (referee)
This Barchelor thesis deals with the current system of funding universities in the Czech Republic. The main goal of thesis is find out or create some improvement proposals of universities funding in Czech Republic. These proposals are based on comparsion of education systems (US, Great Britain and Slovak Republic). The theoretical part describes fundamental theoretical aspects university funding, different systems of university funding, indicating their essential characteristics and identification of differences of systems. The main attention is paid to the system of university funding in Czech Republic. The practical part is a presentation of the results of a comparative analysis of relevant OECD indicators in these funding systems - with reference to strengths and weaknesses. Results of the study demonstrate that for the main weaknesses of of the current system university funding can be considered: 1) the high proportion of public funds and on the other side - very low proportion of of funds from private sources; 2) very low support for students from public funds and on the other side strengths of czech systém is the share of expenditures on R & D in tertiary education. Disadvantages of the system with tuition fees at public universities are reflected in Great Britain. Students in GB are faced to the higher risk because of fees and their debts means burden on public finances due to pay off student loans. (In conclusion, recommendations are shown)

System of Care after Traumatic Brain Injury - Problems in the Czech Republic: Current Dilemmas and Challanges.
Janečková, Marcela ; Holmerová, Iva (advisor) ; Rusina, Robert (referee)
Aims: To introduce the field of traumatic brain injury (TBI) focusing on the consequences that may be caused by the injury; to give comprehensive information about the organisation and characteristics of a system of care and rehabilitation, to analyse the main problems of the Czech system of care and rehabilitation as perceived by its key actors - people after brain injury and experts. Methods: Quantitative and qualitative research using structured questionnaire, methods of public policy analysis (analysis of documents, problem modelling) Results: The research indicates that due to the Czech care system, people, who have suffered brain injury, struggle with many problems related to the accessibility of individual rehabilitation modules and other social services. Areas difficult to access appear mostly in neuropsychological rehabilitation, speech therapy, special education, end especially social and vocational rehabilitation. Regarding social services, respondents stated that especially difficult to access are supported living and supported employment programmes. An important factor is also the access to the support, which enables an independent life without family support, and how this influences overall life satisfaction. More than half of respondents stated that they did not receive such forms of support...

Aerobic exercise as a means of health protection and healthy lifestyle of JU students.
ŠTORKOVÁ, Tereza
Main goal of this Bachelor Thesis is verifying influences of aerobic exercises, concretely aerobic and spinning exercises on the general health a healthy lifestyle of students of University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice. Theoretical part based on the basis of analysis of technical literature served me as a base for the analytical (practical) part. The heartbeat frequency was measured during aerobic and spinning classes on 124 gymnasts. The achieved values are measurable factor for comparing aerobic load during exercises and for exploring their influence on health and individual health condition. The results are that aerobic and spinning exercises are suitable activities for supporting healthy lifestyle even after overweight reduction, because the majority of gymnasts were present in the aerobic zone during measurement.

Electron cryo-microscopy techniques in biological research and nanotechnologies
Mistríková, Veronika ; Bednár, Jan (advisor) ; Nebesářová, Jana (referee) ; Benada, Oldřich (referee)
Preparation of biological samples for transmission electron microscopy is not a trivial task. The samples must withstand a vacuum environment present inside a microscope, and it is often necessary to use non-physiological procedures for their processing. These procedures usually involve aldehyde-based fixation, replacing water with alcohol (i.e. dehydration/substitution), and embedding into a resin, which creates support for the subsequent preparation of thin sections that can be placed into the microscope. In the last decade, the method of cryo-fixation (vitrification) using ultra-fast high-pressure freezing followed by freeze substitution and low-temperature resin embedding gained a dominant position in the cell biology research. In this way, a range of biological samples with a thicknesses up to several hundreds of micrometers was successfully vitrified to a state that was closely related to their in vivo structures. The cryo-fixation of isolated biological objects (with a limited thickness up to several micrometers) is possible in a thin layer of vitrified water by plunge freezing at ambient pressure. In combination with electron cryo-microscopy, this method has become the most effective and fundamental principle for the high-resolution studies and image analysis of fully hydrated samples...

SPECIFIC FEATURES OF PSYCHOANALYTICAL NEEDS OF PATIENTS AFTER MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION.
MERUNKOVÁ, Michaela
The diseases of the vascular system are the most important cause of the death generally (up to 30% of the world-wide mortality). The myocardial infarction represents 13% of all the death cases due to cardiovascular illnesses. Men often suffer myocardial infarction already after 40th year of life, as for women, it appears after the climax. After the 60th year of age the myocardial infarction is equally frequent in case of both sexes. In the last years also the myocardial infarction in case of people younger than thirty-five years is not a rarity. In the bachelor{\crq}s thesis the method of quantitative research by the technique of questioning was applied. In the questionnaire, there are in total 30 questions. 17 of them were closed and 13 half-open. The questionnaires were distributed to patients of the cardio-surgical and cardiological ambulance of the Hospital in České Budějovice, a.s. during their first check after the myocardial infarction. In total 100 questionnaires were distributed and 86 questionnaires were applied for processing the data. The data collection was performed during January, February and March 2009. The thesis focused on specifics of the psychological and social needs of the patient after myocardial infarction. The target of the thesis was to find out where the patients after myocardial infarction look for social support (target 1). Determination of the most frequent problems of the patient after myocardial infarction (target 2). To find out moreover if the saturation of higher needs of patients after the surgical solution of myocardial infarction differs from that of the patients healed in a conservative way (target 3). Three hypotheses were determined based on these goals. First hypothesis: For the patients after myocardial infarction the most frequent support is their family. This hypothesis was confirmed by the research. The most respondents stated as the most important social support their wife or husband, other family members and last but not least a common-law husband or wife. Second hypothesis: The change of life style is among the most frequent problems of the patient after myocardial infarction. This hypothesis was confirmed by research. The change of the life style was stated by 56% of respondents as the most important problem. In spite of the sufficient education the patients have not enough motivation or firm will to change their hitherto life. Third hypothesis: The saturation of higher needs is achieved sooner in the group of patients healed in a conservative way than in the group of patients healed in a surgical way. It followed from the results of the research that the type of myocardial infarction healing may be reflected in the return of the patients into the normal life, however, it has no influence on the occurrence of the stress, fear, sadness and hopelessness after myocardial infarction. This hypothesis was refuted by the research. It follows from the results of the research that it would be suitable to continue the co-operation after the release for the home treatment. To help them to find a suitable way for the change of the lifestyle, to learn them to treat themselves carefully. To motivate for the co-operation not only them, but also their close surroundings, mainly the family. As the family is the most support for them and it could facilitate the deciding of patients in some items and to support them positively.

Gender Aspectc of Care for Aging Parents
KÁROVÁ, Ilona
Abstract The age phenomenon has been a much discussed social topic over recent decades. This is caused by increasing number of elderly people in our society. In comparison with previous generations the average life expectancy increased. Drop in birth rate is another important factor in population behaviour in our country. The share of younger generation decreases which leads to the prevalence of older generation. This phenomenon is called demographic ageing. This imbalance it will influence the labour market very much. It will increase demand on social healthcare and social insurance systems. It is universally known the current system will have to be reformed and adapted in accordance with latest social developments. It is not certain whether the state will be able to support the care for elderly people like today. It is necessary to determine whether any part of this care can be performed by family care persons. The goal of my bachelor's thesis is to find out what the family care for ageing parents looks like in practise. I wanted to find out whether there are differences in caring for elderly parents between men and women. For my research I chose qualitative methodology. For data collection I used semi-structured interview. The research group consisted of eight interviewed people, three men and five women. When choosing the research group I used the simple purposive sampling method. In the research group there were adult children providing care for their parents requiring all-day assistance. These interviews were recorded. Afterwards I rewrote the interviews and analysed them. By analysing results of the research I could understand basic problems of adult children providing care for their elderly parents. I surveyed the motives of children deciding to care for their parents and I wanted to know what they think about it and how they deal with it. In the first part I found out the factors enabling the care. In the second part I surveyed the relationship factors and intergenerational solidarity. The third part is aimed at factors related to the parenting in the original family. The fourth part was aimed at external factors influencing the care. The fifth and the last part describes factors related to the burdens of care. My research provides evidence that providing care is not women thing only. The care is expected from women but even men take part in it. When deciding whether to accept the care commitment the current life conditions of family care providers were more important than gender. I wanted to increase the awareness of problems of family care for elderly parents and draw attention to the need to support the family care providers.

LISP - The separation of network node's locator and identifier
Šubrt, Ondřej ; Pavlíček, Luboš (advisor) ; Matuška, Miroslav (referee)
The purpose of this paper is to describe the features and functionality of LISP protocol (Locator / ID Separation Protocol), its possible use in the network infrastructure and description of the requirements necessary for its successful implementation. Part of this thesis is also the setting of modules to support the network protocol on FreeBSD and then connecting the station to the experimental network, operated by Cisco Systems. The reachability of the test station in the experimental network is verified by station within the network and by server from the internet. LISP implementation on FreeBSD is called OpenLISP and has fully integrated support for encapsulation and decapsulation of datagrams. It also includes the implementation of the mapping cache and mapping database. For connection to Map Server is used OpenLISP Control Plane implementation by Guruprasad K. Rao and LIP6. The paper is based on the draft implementation of this protocol and its individual parts placed on the website of the Internet Engineering Task Force organization. The functionality of the protocol, described in this paper, is valid by March 2012.
