Kinetics and temperature dependance of cellulose degrading enzymes in the Arctic soils
VAZAČ, Jan
Kinetics and temperature dependance of ?-glucosidase and cellobiosidase was investigated in Arctic soil. These enzymes are key in cellulose degradation, while ?-glucosidase produces the final product of cellulose degradation, the glucose, which si readily available to soil microbes and can influence the CO2 production. The enzymes activities was measured using fluorogenic substrates.
Experimental equipment for low-temperature hydrogen fuel cell research
Němec, Tomáš ; Maršík, F.
Experimental equipment for low-temperature hydrogen fuel cell research is described. The devices allow to perform degradation testing of polymer membranes and catalytic layers, measure their physical properties, and evaluate their structural changes after degradation test.
The preparation of revitalisation impact in "Rašeliniště Kapličky"
KOPECKÁ, Ladislava
The peat-bog Kapličky is a nature reserve located on the right shore of the Lipno Dam which we can find in the east part of the Šumava mountains in the Vyšebrodsko nature park. The purpose of my paper is to describe the damage of a part of the peat-bog caused by the human activities in the past. The peat was extracted for the fuel activities. It has led to degradation and the overgrowing of expansive species. Therefore I prepare the foundation for the practical realisation of the peat-bog revitalisation. My paper also includes the monitoring of the ground water level at 14-day-intervals, monitoring of vegetation and its alternations in consequence of water cycle. My paper links to Lenka Pavelcová the magister thesis.
Biodegradation of PCBs by a ligninolytic fungus
Cajthaml, Tomáš ; Kožená, Lenka ; Filipová, Alena ; Svobodová, Kateřina
Although production and use of polychlorinated biphenyls has been prohibited for many years, the compounds still represent a serious problem for the environment. The objective of this work was to test abilities of PCB degradation of several representatives of ligninolytic fungi: Phanerochaete chrysosporium, Pleurotus ostreatus, Trametes versicolor, Irpex lacteus, Bjerkandera adusta, Picnoporus cinnabarinus, Dichomitus squalens, Phanerochaete magnolia, Panus tigrinus in two types of nutrient media i.e. low nitrogen mineral and complex.
Screening of fungi are able to degradation of chlorobenzoates
Muzikář, Milan ; Křesinová, Zdena ; Svobodová, Kateřina ; Cajthaml, Tomáš
Degradation of chlorobenzoates (CBA), which are the intermediates by degradation of polychlorinated biphenyls, with fungi capable degrade lignin. These fungi are called ligninolytic or white-rot fungi. Biodegradation was tested in rich medium. The cultures were Bjerkandera adusta, Dichomitus squalens, Irpex lacteus, Phanerochaete chysosporium, Pleurotus ostreatus, Pycnoporus cinnabarinus, Pycnoporus magnoliae a Trametes versicolor. The harvesting was performance 1., 2. and 3. week. Via ethylacetate we obtained the organic extract which was analyzed on HPLC. The start concentration was 10 ppm (10 μg/ml). We tested 12 substances of CBA
Removal of degraded layer of concrete with an emphasis on optimizing surface before applying repair materials
Janurová, E. ; Pustelník, J. ; Mádr, V. ; Hlaváč, L. ; Bodnárová, L. ; Foldyna, Josef ; Hela, R. ; Sitek, Libor
The topic of the work is modelling of the process of disintegration of degraded layer of construction materials by high-speed water jet during their preparation for repair action. Destructive action of high-speed water jet on concretes of various qualities and corrosion damage degree was studied both experimentally and theoretically. The result of the submitted work is determination of methodology of classification degraded and treated concrete surface.
PHARMACEUTICALS IN URBAN WASTEWATER AND THEIR POSSIBLE DEGRADATION BY PLANTS
Kotyza, Jan ; Soudek, Petr ; Kafka, Z. ; Vaněk, Tomáš
Work is focused on pharmaceuticals in wastewaters and watercourses and their removal by plants. We made short-time hydroponic experiments with Lupinus alba, Hordeum vulgaris and in vitro experiment with Armoracia rusticana L. As a model pharmaceuticals were chosen ibuprofen, diclofenac and paracetamol.
Distribuce a degradace oostatických peptidů v masařce Neobellieria bullata
Hlaváček, Jan ; Bennettová, Blanka ; Slaninová, Jiřina ; Černý, B. ; Vlasáková, Věra ; Holík, Josef ; Ježek, Rudolf ; Tykva, Richard
Distribution and degradation of oostatic peptides in the selected organs of flesh fly Neobellieria bullata was investigated using tritium labeled molecules. The degradation of peptides proceeded fast at both the amino and carboxy termini and resulted in formation of transient tetra and tripeptide sequences.
Účinek elektronového svazku na poly[fenyl(methyl)silylen]
Horák, Petr ; Schauer, Petr
The study of Poly[Methyl(Phenyl)Silylene] properties using cathodoluminescent method is complicated by the material degradation. The speed of degradation depends on the irradiation time as well as on the current density of the excitation beam. CL investigation of PMPSi proved creating of metastable states in the material. The degradation is a reversible process in this case.
