Talking about immigration to Europe. Analysis of facebook posts of Doctors without borders
Šlédrová, Jasňa ; Moree, Dana (advisor) ; Muhič Dizdarevič, Selma (referee)
The subject of this diploma thesis is the potential of organizations of civil society to influence public debate about immigration to Europe via Facebook. Conclusions introduced in this diploma thesis are based on my own empirical research as well as on literature focused on public relations. Research is designed as single case study of Facebook communication of Doctors without Borders. I explore the diversity of topics and argumentation present in the organization's communication, reactions of its audience and mutual interactions between organization and its audience. I explain that content, visual and formal aspects may play a key role when an organization is trying to address wide audience, whose ideas is willing to shape and influence. Research points out that the communication of Doctors without Borders about migration to Europe is one-sided, because it's mainly driven by activities and mission of the organization. This one-sidedness is partly compensated by engaged audience that enriches discussions under the Facebook posts of the organization with diverse topics and opinions. The thesis tries to capture the significance of tension between organization and its audience that raises inspirational discussions, which might not occur in case of absolute consensus. Key words communication, public...

Reflection of group interests in political decision-making processes: an institutional approach
Kotlas, Petr ; Novák, Miroslav (advisor) ; Čmejrek, Jaroslav (referee) ; Mlejnek, Josef (referee)
Ing. Petr Kotlas Reflexe skupinových zájmů v procesu politického rozhodování: institucionální přístup Disertační práce Praha 2012 Annotation PhD thesis "Reflection of group interests in political decision-making processes: an institutional approach" deals with the role of group interests reflected into the specific decision-making actions, on various stages of the political discourse. The thesis offers a methodological contribution, consisting in an interconnecting of the analysis of interest groups with a new institutional paradigm, utilizing its fundamental concepts, particularly transaction costs, formal and informal institutions, and various types of 5 institutional setting, its equilibrium and change. Among the problems of pluralist democracy there are underlined the processes of cleavage and cohesion, shaping group diversity under the condition of multi-actor democracy. The characteristic of political decision-making involves beyond general framework also problems of group decisionmaking. Two alternative approaches to the policy-making analysis are explored: first, an arena approach, focused on the relations among actors, arenas, and agendas; second, an approach focused on the different networks of policy-making. There is the phenomenon of lobbying analyzed in detail, including the controversial...

Dynamic time warping in biosignal processing
Novobilský, Petr ; Provazník, Ivo (referee) ; Kolářová, Jana (advisor)
The thesis deals with one of the non-linear methods for signal processing - dynamic time warping (DTW). The method observes shape changes, which should be used in biomedical signals processing. The thesis involves the method description and consecution for finding DTW optimal way. The method is applied on the number series in the edutainment program, on the group of simulated signals and real electrocardiograms (ECG). ECG recordings were gained by performing experiments on the Masaryk University and their aim was clarifying the influence of voltage-sensitive dye on the heart tissue. One-lead ECG was described in time domain, frequency domain, time-frequency domain and subsequently remitted to DTW algorithm. The method outcomes evaluates the diversity rate of ECG signals obtained in each experiment stages. During the data evaluation were followed up the changes in process of the tension-sensible paint application and the stage of scouring toward control. The difference of elaborating signals group was verified in the time domain (37,5 %), in the frequency domain (75 %) and in the time-frequency domain (25 %). However, due to the small data group was not possible to explicitly approve the activity of voltage-sensitive dye on the heart tissue and to determinate limiting value of minimum algorithm way DTW for each heart round electrocardiogram classification. In the more data group analysis it is supposed to manifest the trend of growth heart round ECG differences in the stage of staining toward the stage of scouring.

Use of terrain modelling to landscaping in landscape parks
Šantrůčková, Markéta
The presented thesis deals with assessment of landscaping and with the opportunities for making use of natural relief during setting up of landscape gardens. The assessment has been done based on studies of the relevant matter in model locations, then the acquired facts have been generalized. Landscape gardens form an indispensable part of the landscape as such. Gardens mix, in a specific way and inseparably, influences of natural environment with anthropogenic impacts. The natural environment changes into landscape gardens mainly by means of diverse forms of relief. At the same time, relief was not just passively taken as a basis for starting a park, it was actively being changed, spending not a small amount of money and effort. What is typical of terrain changes in landscape gardens is that these changes, striking to whatever degree, were meant to be hidden to viewers, and that they copied natural lines and shapes. Geographical research topics in landscape gardens concentrate mainly on finding to what degree the natural relief was used and changed, and what impact it had on the form and creation of the parks. In the presented work methods leading to a thorough understanding of terrain changes were used. The main part of the work was to analyze maps in GIS systems, to study historical documents,...

Study of Fluorescence of Selected Benzimidazoles
Richtrová, Monika ; Lázníčková, Alice (referee) ; Kubíček, Vladimír (advisor)
The influence of used solvents on fluorescence of seven selected benzimidazoles (reduced flubendazole, albendazole, 2-aminobenzimidazole, carbendazim, benomyl, thiabendazole a oxibendazole) is studied in this thesis. It was found, that solvents, used in liquid chromatography as mobile phases, influence the fluorescence of individual benzimidazoles in a very diverse ways. The shape of the fluorescence spectra is very strongly dependent on the structure of a benzimidazole. The obtained results can serve as starting points during a development of chromatographic methods for a benzmidaloles determination with the fluorimetric detection. In the other part of the thesis, a derivatization of hydrolyzed mebendazole with 7- chloro-4-nitrobenzo-2-oxa-1,3-diazole is studied as a way enabling a fluorescence detection of this substance. Unfortunately, the obtained results are not promising.

This diploma thesis is focused on the competitive advantage of the Czech republic in the global world of nowadays. First, it is important to explain the expression a "knowledge economy" or a "knowledge society". In my thesis, I will introduce the theories of human capital, knowledge economy, innovation, economic growth and divers sources of appropriate informations. After the introduction of these theories, I will follow up with the introduction of the Lisbon strategy and its analysis. Here, I will do a comparison of the EU, Czech Republic and the global economy. The reason of this thesis is to show a possible ways of development and economic growth of the Czech Republic. The Lisbon strategy reflects the complexity of this issue. Thus, the next chapters will be about the analysis of Finland's economic transformation and its current state. Following with the short introduction and analysis of the american and french education, science and research systém and shape. Thus, those acquired knowledge will serve me to make an outline of the possible solutions for the Czech Republic because our current situation enables us to inspire ourselves in the whole diversity and uniqueness of their economic and social systems and to apply their know-how in the broader context of the Czech republic.
