The Determinants of Private Savings in the EU: The Case of the Group of Eight Entrant Countries
Amponsah, Cornelius ; Bauer, Michal (advisor) ; Holub, Tomáš (referee)
Private saving in the CEE countries can be described as having stabilised over the period of reform. Among the transition variables employed in the study, price liberalisation stands out as the most potent correlate of private saving. This is seen as a direct consequence the gradual removal of the soft budget constraint under the command system and by extension the elimination of involuntary saving. Another remarkable outcome from the GMM model is the positive response of the first lag of private saving which demonstrates persistence of savings in the CEE over the transition period. Tied to this is the strong response of private saving to sound macroeconomic discipline in the CEE countries. This is evidenced in the positive response to key variables like GDP growth and improvements in the terms of trade. Most importantly, the aged dependency ratio is seen as the most consistently strong influence on private saving. This brings to the fore the role of pension reforms in these countries and its impact on public and private funds. Keywords: Central and Eastern Europe, EU, Private Saving, Stabilization, Transition. 5

The real estate tax as an instrument of an economic policy
TRÁVNÍČKOVÁ, Radka
In my thesis about the topic ``Real estate tax as an economic feature`` I looked into the way how real estate tax affects expenses and mainly the results of business. I investigated how real estate tax shares expenses and the results of business in the current tax terms. Furthermore I was interested in these effects if the tax grew to the ``European{\crqq} level, i.e. grew three aims. The final point was an effect in case of abolishing the tax on the subjects observed. I did the research for three chosen subjects (two cooperative farms and one private farmer). In conclusion I dealt with how real estate tax influences economic behaviour of business and the whole real estate trade.

Němcová, Martina ; Klosová, Anna (advisor) ; Gullová, Soňa (referee)
The Czech economy transformation after November 1989 illustrates the transition from a centrally planned economy to a market economy. This reconstruction required many fundamental changes, namely: privatization, price liberalization and liberalization of foreign trade. These changes have had a significant impact on the territorial and commodity structure of foreign trade and external economic balance of the Czech Republic. This thesis aims to assess the steps in the transformation of the Czech economy and the effects on the development of foreign trade relations of the Czech Republic from the perspectives of economists and ordinary citizens.

Urbanová, Lucie ; Zeman, Karel (advisor) ; Vebrová, Ludmila (referee)
In my Bachelor work, I will characterize the impact of the process of privatization on the structure of the health service and the subjects providing health care in the Czech Republic. In the first, theoretical-methodological part, I will generally address the changes of the system of the national economy after the 1989, of which the most important characteristics are the liberalization of the prices and of foreign trade, macroeconomic stability and changes in property rights, under which privatization and restitution belong. Then I will cover the various types of property structures in health service. In the analytical part, I will analyze the property structure of the health service before 1989, i.e. the period before privatization, then in the period of the privatization process, and finally in the present time. I will carry out an analysis of the positive and negative impacts of the privatization process on the health care and the subjects providing health care and on the overall structure of the health care. The aim of this Paper is to analyze the impacts of the privatization on the property and organizational structure of the health care institutions.

Analysis of the arms export from Skoda Works and Zbrojovka Brno to the Little Entente countries in the 30th years of the 20th century
Kárník, Jan ; Skřivan, Aleš (advisor) ; Szobi, Pavel (referee)
The history of Czechoslovakia and his position played a key role in developement of weapon industry in the interwar period. Because of the instability in this region, which was formed after First word War, the weapon industry started to develop much faster. At the early 1930s the weapon industry was already so robust, that the consequences of economic depression didn't slow it down as much as they slowed down the other industry branches. At 1930s was weapon industry influenced by condition of economy of theirs business partnes from Little Entente and by politic situation in neighboring countries. Business plans of companies producing weapons and weapon material were lagrely influenced by czechoslovak gowernment. Economic policy was used by czechoslovak gowernment like foreign policy. This fact largely influenced the behavior of weapon-producing companies in their trade relation with business partners in Little Entente.

Trh s elektřinou v České Republice (teorie a praxe)
Pavlátka, Pavel ; Schwarz, Jiří (advisor) ; Brychta, Pavel (referee)
Liberalization and privatization of the electricity industry is one of the most important processes in the few last years. Even when the electricity market is fully open, substantial barriers to competition often remain. These barriers are refusal of access to the market, the lack of capacity in interconnectors and long-term contracts. The process of liberalization has shown that a third-party access to the network is a critical and important factor in ensuring a real and effective liberalization of the market. The process of liberalization has also supported new ways and forms of energy trading including financial contracts instead of purely physical contracts for the delivery of electricity. It is a question if the benefits of liberalization of the electricity industry compared with a regulated private monopoly or public monopoly were profitable. Someone could argue that the liberalization of electricity tends to bring benefit to monopoly structures and increase prices of electricity in industry. This work tries to present the pros and cons of liberalization in the electricity industry while taking in consideration the best means of making the liberatization as much profitable and useful as possible.
