Mycorrhizal and endophytic roots of aquatic plants
Borovec, Ondřej ; Vohník, Martin (advisor) ; Kolařík, Miroslav (referee)
Interactions between fungi and plants can be found all around us. We would hardly find a plant neither containing a single hypha in its rhizosphere nor infested with a fungal pathogen. Whereas interactions of these organisms are well and described in terrestrial ecosystems, situation below the water level is completely different. The status of aquatic fungi and their relation to aquatic plants is to date not clear at all regarding difficulties of reaching them and huge value of terrestric interactions, which occupy most of the experts. All the basic plant-fungus interactions have been detected also underwater. As well as on the land, the most widespread aquatic mycorrhizal association is arbuscular mycorrhiza. On the contrary, the other well known mycorrhiza types such as orchid or ericoid mycorrhiza do not occur in the aquatic environment where their hosts are absent. On the other hand, endophytism is relatively frequent. Ascomycetous fungi with dark septate hyphae, collectively being referred to as "dark septate endophytes" (DSE), seem to be as abundant in the water as on the land. Additionally, aquatic plants are being challenged by numerous fungal parasites. AMF may play an important role in nutrient uptake of some plants from the aquatic environment. However, many species of aquatic plants are...

Social problems of employees from the third countries at the labour market in Czech Republic
Faktorová, Dana ; Tomeš, Igor (advisor) ; Šťastná, Jaroslava (referee)
Diploma work is about social problems of foreing workers in the Czech Republic. This phenomenon because of increasing migratory movements mostly economic motivated migrants it is going to be more important. This work tries to explain what social problems citizens of the third countries have. It is not deciding if they came to the Czech republic accord of thein own o rif they were forced to migration. At least the work tries to find out if the foreign labour wants to be integrated into the Czech society or if migration is just for a temporary phenomenon. The work in the theoretical part show the term migration, or more precisely external migration from the point of view of the European Nation and deals with migratory reasons, migratory theories and migratory impacts on every single person but on the whole society too. The whole theoretical part is put into the context of migration and asylum policy of the European Nation because the Czech Republic as the member of the European Nation make an effort about harmonisation in this part. The important part is about employment conditions of third countries citizens in the Czech Republic which are put in the legislative and institutional frame. The work then describes the effort of the Czech migration policy about active kontrol of migration and analyse the legal...

Talent Management
Herlesová, Hana ; Šikýř, Martin (advisor) ; Lansky, Miroslav (referee)
This assignment aims on the differences between the theory and praxes in managing of talented workers. The first part of the assignment is elaborated on theoretical base only and it is focused mainly on explanation of "talent" and "talent management" expressions. Further on the first part describes specific areas where the accent in talent management is necessary. The second part on the contrary to the first part deals with practical issues, processes and programs of the IBM. With respect to the company's size it is necessary to have the talent management precisely prepared as a part of company strategy, which is accomplished as a company's routine not only as a paperwork. This part contains process description of talent identification, selection, development and also retaining talented workers. Single area descriptions are completed by pictures and tables to make it well-arranged. In this section there are partly compared praxes with the theory. There is shown confrontation among theoretically defined areas and processes of talent management and IBM's areas and processes of talent management. Also important is different understanding of "talent" between theory and praxes. The third part summarizes findings and conclusions based on the confrontation between practical and theoretical parts. The fourth part evaluates actual topic of world financial crisis and its impact on the field of talent management mainly from benefits and bonuses for talented workers point of view.

Sentenced to community service - an alternative to imprisonment
Mottlová, Jana
The thesis deals with the topic of penalties alternative to the imprisonment. Given the fact the theme of alternative punishments is very large, the dissertation specialises mostly in a penalty of community services. In the thesis the alternative punishment is presented from the point of view of the occupation whose main task is to contribute to the penal justice and to solving penal conflicts. The domain that the Probation and mediation service of the Czech Republic has represented since 2001 stands on the frontier of the social work and the law and brings out the need to define the context of its own use, role, theoretical grounds and last but not least operational procedures, mechanisms and principles of a professional work. The penalty of community services started to be used in our penal justice in 1996 and it has gone through great changes ever since. The thesis describes in details the historical evolution of this punishement. First forms of an alternative treatment of offenders, especially the probation was developing late 19th century and in the beginning of the 20th century chiefly in countries of Western and Northen Europe. Optical Wavelength Division Multiplex
Kavický, Martin ; Křepelka, Václav (referee) ; Filka, Miloslav (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis is orientated to problems about optical networks and possibilities of transmision more than one optical mode trough single fibre. Components, which create optical path, are described there. I was concerned with kinds of fiber couplers, optical multipexors and demultiplexers, proper souces and receivers of optical radiation, possible optical amplifiers and in not least turn single types of wavelenght division multiplexing. In practical part I propose possible ways of verification of activity of wavelenght division multiplexing and optical path components, as is EDFA amplifier, or circulator. As insertion of thesis, I created concept of active task, in which will students meat with meassuring optical power after way through EDFA amplifier, which they will tune.

Role of diagnostic imaging in hydronephrosis
VOSMÍKOVÁ, Anna
I have chosen the topic of my thesis ?The task of displaying methods for a hydronephrosis ground diagnostic? thanks to the many possibilities of diagnostic and laboratory screening methods. Hydronephrosis and its matters is often discussed topic within a medical staff - how to examine it and which method is the most effective. This is the main goal of my work as well. The main goal of my work is to compare the most effective and the most informative screening methods of the outcome urinary system. Furthermore, I would like to introduce a proposal of an applicable method of the outcome urinary system visualization. I set up the hypothesis, that an outcome urography which used to be the main radiologic method of diagnostic of hydronephrosis, is nowadays successfully replaced by the complex of the modern displaying methods. I have done a quantitative research in two Prague´s hospitals with an accreditation. I focused on 30 patients with a hydronephrosis (also derived from the secondary source) in each hospital. I compared a number of the screenings to which the patients were indicated and also the screenings the clearly displayed the ground of the hydronephrosis. I have also registered the ground of hydronephrosis, which primary was not the goal of my work. It is used to apply an ultrasonography as the first choice of diagnostic in cases where there is the suspection of hydronephrosis in FNM and ÚVN. Ultrasongraphy is a method without ionising radiation and with the fast kidney structure evaluation. It was not always shown clearly by ultrasound by patients with hydronephrosis, and that is why the other methods like RTG, CT, IVU and MR were used. The scintigraphy was done as well, but only for TNM staging tumours. The first objective of my work is a comparison between diagnostic methods. This target was met in the research results, added by charts. The second objective, to present a plan for an appropriate method to display outcome urinary system, is not possible to fulfill. The same procedure cannot be used for each patient ? considering the different ground of the hydronefrosis, we need to use individual attitude. I also present an extensive chapter on causes of hydronefrosis in my work. According to the results I confirm a hypothesis, that an outcome urography is nowadays mainly replaced by modern diagnostic methods, mostly by the computer tomography. In the end, I would like to mention, that the work of the radiologic assistant has changed nowadays, especially thanks to the development of radiodiagnostic and of the digitalization. Radiologic assistant has become very important part of the medical team. His/her work also includes a communication with a patient, his/her monitoring during the screening, and a professional communication with the medical team. The knowledge of the new work methods, its principles and the work with the new Pc programs (e.g. PACs) is also indispensable.

Problem of energy saving in households in the Czech Republic. The socio-economic interpretation
RAJNOVÁ, Renata
The subject of this diploma thesis: "Problem of energy saving in households in the Czech Republic. The socio-economic interpretation", is a comparison of the energy consumption and the heating of households from the perspective of socio-economic and environmental contexts. Problems of the energy consumption related to the heating of households are solved on the basis of data that were obtained from the research within the international project GILDED. The theoretical part of the thesis describes different ways and resources of the heating of households, focuses on factors that affect the energy consumption, impacts of single types of heating on the environment, especially on the production of emissions of CO2, and lastly is dedicated to the global ecological crisis, indicators of environmental ballast and the sustainable development. In the empirical part is processed the analysis of data from questionnaires and the CO2 calculator and the obtained results are presented. The opportunities that could reduce the energy consumption that is necessary for the heating of households and suggestions of possible economic measures are summarized in the conclusion of the thesis.

Aspects of L2 Literature Teaching in the Foreign Language Classroom in the Context of Grammar School Curriculum Reform
Skopečková, Eva ; Grmelová, Anna (advisor) ; Betáková, Lucie (referee) ; Mánek, Bohuslav (referee)
The present dissertation examines certain crucial issues in the field of literature teaching and the use of literature in the foreign language classroom. In particular, it focuses on the specific aspects of the didactics of English literature in the context of the current trends and changes of the Czech grammar school curriculum. Therefore, it explores the relation of literature and education, the question of interpretation and reception of a literary work in connection with the foreign language classroom, which is currently influenced by the new curricular documents. At the research level, the dissertation attempts to find a potentially ideal combination of the disciplines related to this field, i.e. literary scholarship, EFL methodology as well as the outcomes and intentions of the new curricular documents, and searches for new possibilities of the optimal use of English literature in the EFL classroom. The theoretical section consists of three main chapters that correspond to the three main theoretical grounds of the dissertation reflecting the above mentioned disciplines. At first the focus is given to the role of literature in education, its specific position in the foreign language classroom and to the introduction of the basic principles of reception theory and Wolfgang Iser's approach to the...

Working strategies of nurses on manager posts
MARKOVÁ, Eva
The thesis "Working strategies of nurses on manager posts" deals with issues of the professional role and manager position of a head nurse. With regard to changes in the area of health policy and health care providing, as well as is the relationship with the issue of professional fulfilment of women on the labour market generally, it is important to know views, ambitions, and motivations of nurses, and their working strategies on managing positions. It includes aspects of harmonizing their family and work roles, as these are the moments determining the position of most women in our working conditions to a significant extent. It is to say, managing of the nursing personnel and health care is a typical feminine position in the Czech Republic, adapting to given rules of the work organization and hierarchical structure of health institutions. The purpose of the thesis is to outline such a frame of reference, which would enable to better understand values and attitudes of head nurses. An indispensable part of this outlook is to understand, how their carriers developed, to identify their managing styles and guiding of the nursing team, as well as to map how their personal and professional roles pervade and affect each other. In this process, revealing long-term working strategies of head nurses is an important source of knowledge and at the same time, an attitudinal reflexion of these contexts by nurses themselves. Therefore, the development of the role of a nurse - manager (specifically, the head nurse and the ward sister) was described as the first item in the framework of the professional live of managing nurses; and conclusions of a series of research studies, focused on these issues, were presented. Additionally, the specificity of management in the nursing conditions was analyzed, including changes after 1989, and possibilities of education of nurses - managers. Finally, an empiric probe into the explored points at issue was carried out. Data acquired by means of semi-structured interviews with selected head nurses in faculty hospitals were integrated with the help of one of classical approaches, through so-called Grounded theory method. On basis of the data analysis, a model of professional paradigm was created, demonstrating several phases of the professional career, through which a head nurse passes, which were called for illustration: Seeking of domain, Circle (changing of nursing lines and sites), Virtue of necessity (situation, where a nurse caring of a child chooses a workplace, which enables such care), and Anchoring in the nursing branch. Then, the manager's career of the nurse unwinds form the "Anchoring in the nursing branch" phase. Life stories of head nurses, built on information from qualitative interviews, include predisposing factors for a managing position. Last but not least, it is also about some imprinting aspects from the childhood and adolescence (e.g., number of siblings, reasons for the selected study). After certain time, a nurse becomes a shift leader and a deputy ward sister, and subsequently, a ward sister and a head nurse. According to circumstances, she uses a combination of several managing styles in this position, like authoritative, democratic, and consultative. The theoretical model of professional paradigm of head nurses, construed on basis of empiric data analyses, opens a trail for further investigations, where it may be possible to examine some consequences in more detail, like the course of the professional career of nurses, their managing styles, etc. The acquired and classified evidences contribute to enriching current state of knowledge of certain segments of nursing issues. For instance, the top management of health institutions may use them in planning and implementation of some policies in the area of human resources, or educational institutions may use it for better and more accurate setting of educational concepts of future head nurses.
