Title: Effect of the range of the shoulder joint rotation in volleyball players on the development of functional changes. Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to confirm the presence of the glenohumeral internal rotation deficit in beach volleyball players and to determine whether it affects the development of functional changes of the shoulder joint located in the dominant upper limb. Methods: The thesis was a quantitative study with the character of an experiment. There were 60 active volleyball players aged 18-30 years who were deliberately selected for the purposes of the study. The essence was to ascertain whether GIRD affects the pain in the shoulder joint of volleyball players and whether it was deemed positive for all participants of the study. In order to examine the range of motion, the goniometer in the external and internal rotation according to Janda and Pavla, Janda and Sachse was used, as well as hypermobility tests and a shoulder joint pain questionnaire. The statistical data processing was performed by Microsoft Excel 2010. The sum and average functions were used. Subsequently, graphs and tables were created from the results Results: The established hypotheses were confirmed in two cases. GIRD is determined positive for beach volleyball players. From the results of hypermobility...

The abstract of my study concerns the treatment of the case of my patient who had an operation of total hip replacement on the right hip joint, caused by post dysplastic arthrosis. My practice was performed at Fakultni Nemocnice Kralovske Vinohrady. Physiotherapy program started on Tuesday 29th of January 2013 and ended on Friday 1st of February 2013. My Bachelor Thesis is divided in two parts: 1) Theoretical part 2) Practical part. In the theoretical part I analyse everything concerning the hip joint, muscles, joints, bones, ligaments, nerves as well as the biomechanical and kinesiological point of view of the hip joint. In the practical part I analyse every procedure I have done with my patient, all the examinations, conclusions, therapies and results. The patient was operated at OTK FNKV hospital at 22nd of January. Goals of the therapy was to decrease pain and edema, increase range of motion of the movement, increase mobility and elasticity of skin and also improve strength of the operated right hip according to the examinations I provided to the practical part. After the five sessions improvements were detected in the final kinesiologic examination. Pain was decreased to 3/10 according to VAS scale, edema was reduced, range of motion (ROM) of the movements and muscle strength were also...

Effect of kinesiotape on range of motion in the flexion of the trunk measured from standing position
Musilová, Markéta ; Pavlů, Dagmar (advisor) ; Malá, Jitka (referee)
The title of the diploma's thesis: Effect of kinesiotape on range of motion in the flexion of the trunk measured from standing position. Objective/ Aim: The main aim of this work is to evaluate whether the kinesiotape applied to the paravertebral muscles of the lumbar spine affect the range of motion in trunk flexion from standing position. Another aim is to exclude the possibility of a placebo effect by using control material in an identical manner. Methods: The data required for the practical part of this work were obtained on the basis of experimental measurements, where the kinesiotape was applied to the paravertebral muscles of the lumbar spine and it evaluated the change in range of motions in trunk flexion from standing position. The measurements were taken on the basis of the Thomayer and Schober sign. The controll group was measured in a similar way with a material fixomull, which has similar attributes as kinesiotape. Data were analyzed using MS Excel and in a program Gretl. Results: Stastically significant results showing that kinesiotape affects the increase in the trunk flexion motion with the average value of 2,24 cm (t(24) = 2,86, p <0,05) in total and 0,51 cm (t(24) = 0,67, p <0,05) for local effect in the place of use of kinesiotape. Measurement with fixomull hasn't shown...

Sedláková, Barbora ; Nováková, Tereza (advisor) ; Břečková, Gabriela (referee)
Title: Spontaneous activity of lower limbs in a vertical position in the aquatic environment Objectives: The aim of this study was to determinate whether spontaneous activity of lower limb in the aquatic environment enable to determinate preferred swimming stroke of an individual. Also, whether identified asymmetry of the lower limbs during treading water depend on passive range of hip joints. Methods: Spontaneous activity of lower limbs in a vertical position with a hands and head out of water was recorded on video. Passive intra/extrarotion, flexion, extension, abduction in hip joints were measured using mechanical two-arm goniometer. Qualitative analysis of spontaneous activity of lower limbs recorded on video was conducted using Kinovea 0.8.15. Results: According to the results of our work, it can not be said that the preferred swimming stroke can be determined on the basis of the spontaneous activity of the lower limbs in a vertical position in the aquatic environment. We can assume that the individual chose the pattern of treading water according to an energetically economical way while minimizing resistive forces and not in pursuance of preferred swimming stroke. Bilateral asymmetry (left-right) during the water treading movement was detected in the whole group. The most significant...
