Case Study of Physiotherapy Treatment of a Patient after total knee replacement surgery
Petrocheilos, Stavros ; Nováková, Tereza (advisor) ; Vomáčková, Helena (referee)
Title: Case study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient after total knee replacement surgery. Thesis aim: Thesis is divided into two parts, the first part is theoretical and has aim to show an overview of anatomy, kinesiology and biomechanics of the knee joint and to show general information about the osteoarthritis and the patient's surgery. The second part is the case study where aim is to show the examinations and treatments that were provided to the patient and analyse the results. Clinical findings: The patient was a 71 years old male with diagnosis of total knee replacement surgery, performed 7 days ago from the time we met. The patient had limited ROM in the operated leg into flexion and extension and the area around the knee was swollen and warm. Also, he had some weakness on the muscles of the operated leg. Procedures: All the procedures that used were based on my knowledge acquired from Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Physical Education and Sport. These were post isometric relaxation, joint mobilisation, strength and length tests and strengthening exercises based on my knowledge. Result: After 7 days of therapies the patient's operated leg had physiological mobility into flexion and extension, the muscles gained strength and oedema was reduced but not completely. Conclusion:...

Title: Case Study of Physiotherapy Treatment of a Patient after Proximal Humerus Fracture Aim: The main aim of this work was to summarize the theoretical knowledge, to be oriented in the specialized literature with given subject, and formulate the case study of the patient with subsequent evaluation of the therapy. Method: Bachelor thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and special part. In the theoretical part I have been focused on anatomical and kinesiological facts shoulder girdle. I summarized information of conservative and surgical treatment of proximal humerus fractures and subsequent rehabilitation care. In a special part I wrote a case study of the patient after broken proximal humerus, whose treatment was solved by osteosynthesis, the course of all therapies and afterwards resulting effect. Key words: Proximal humerus, fracture, osteosynthesis, rehabilitation, range of motion, shoulder girdle
Effect of Kinesio Taping on the functional condition of the musculoskeletal system
Kališko, Ondřej ; Zahálka, František (advisor) ; Pavlů, Dagmar (referee)
Title: Effect of Kinesio Taping on the functional condition of the musculoskeletal system The concept of the problem: The kinesiotaping method is currently very popular therapeutic method in sport as well as in physiotherapy. Although this method was primarily developed as therapeutic method, there is only a few studies, in which the kinesiotaping method is used on healthy individuals. Objective: The objective of this thesis is to evaluate the immediate effect of applied kinesio tape on changes in the range of motion of the thoracic spine in the sagittal plane on healthy individuals. Methods: The theoretical part deals with summary of the taping method as well as with anatomical and kinesiological aspects of flexion and extension of the thoracic spine. The practical part as an experiment (single blinded controlled trial) is dedicated to the application of kinesio and placebo tape, the way that both tapes were applied was specifically designed for the purpose of this thesis and for specifically selected individuals. For gathering the data and for the evaluation the changes in the range of motion, the index of thoracic spine mobility was used. Results: For experimental group - kinesio tape there were no statistically significant increase in the range of motion. Vice versa, according to the obtained...

Bramham, Michael Edwin ; Vomáčková, Helena (advisor) ; Nováková, Tereza (referee)
Title: Case Study of Physiotherapy Treatment of a Patient with the Diagnosis of Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction. Thesis aim: The thesis is split into two parts; 1) Theoretical part. 2) Practical part (Case Study). The theoretical part will show an overview of the anatomy, kinesiology and biomechanics of the knee joint, aswell as how an anterior cruciate ligament injury is commonly obtained, the reconstruction surgery procedure, and the therapy used by the therapist in the rehabilitation process. In the practical part, I shall apply this theoretical knowledge, aswell as the knowledge of examinations and therapies that I have learned during my degree on to a patient with the diagnosis of anterior cruciate reconstruction, analysing the results. Clinical findings: The patient was a 24 year old female, with a diagnoss of anterior cruciate reconstruction of the left knee, performed by an allograft 6 weeks prior. The main clinical findings were a range of motion deficit in the operated knee in both flexion and extension, aswell as general weakening and atrophy of the muscles in this side. Procedures: The procedures used were based on those taught by Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Physical Education and Sport. These included but were not limited to; post isometric relaxation, joint...
