Fulfilment of selected standards of quality of provided care from the point of seniors.
ŠKARKOVÁ, Zdeňka
The topic of Bachelor's thesis is the fulfilment of selected standards of quality for social services from the point of view of its users in nursing home. The theoretical part contains definitions of basic terms from the field of social services with a focus on seniors, which relate to standards of quality of social services - senior age, needs, quality of life, social services, standards of quality and the Dačice nursing home. The aim of the work was to map the fulfilment of standards of quality for social services and their implementation in a nursing home from the point of view of seniors. Other goals were to determine the extent of fulfilment of standards the quality of social services from the point of view of users of a particular service and to determine the possibilities for correspondence of a particular social service to regularly available public assistance resources. A hypothesis was set. In order to achieve gals and verify the validity of the hypothesis, a form of quantitative research was selected, along with secondary analysis of internal guidelines. The focuses of the research were all users of the nursing home in Dačice. Following evaluation of the results of the research, I have concluded that the goals have been fulfilled and the hypothesis was rejected. In the nursing home in Dačice the selected standards for social services have not been fulfilled from the point of view of seniors. This Bachelor's work can provide the nursing home with an evaluation of provided services and can serve the public during decisions about selection of a social services provider.

The reasons and the extent of drug abuse within the children from social and cultural unfavourable environment
CHRTOVÁ, Ivana
For my thesis I have chosen this topic Reasons and the extent of drug abuse within the children from social and cultural unfavourable environment. I was attracted by this theme during my school practical training. Drug experiments with the follow-up abuse within the children?s population are becoming more and more a serious problem not only in the Czech Republic but in the whole world too. Lately the age limit has cut down for the experiments related to legal as well as illegal drugs. The children from the social and cultural unfavourable environment are involved in drug abuse and other pathological phenomenon much sooner than the major society, which explains the lower age limit. When the child belongs to the social and cultural disadvantageous group of inhabitants, he/she comes into the social, health, economical and often criminal problems. To be a member of such excluded group can cause that the child is more likely exposed to frequently and risky drug abuse. The thesis refers to the drug abuse by the children from the social and cultural unfavourable environment. The data for the thesis were collected from the 14 and 15 year old children in special pedagogical institutions in the South Bohemian region. The quantity research was applied to get the data, via anonymous questioner enriched with the additional discussion with the therapists of the respective institution, and were analysed in quality. The previously stated hypothesis were verified and evaluated based on the results qualification. The thesis contains the theoretical part which explains the basic terms, describes models of drug addiction, as the base for the statement and the cause of drug experiments and abuse within the children?s population from disadvantageous environment. The theoretical part concludes the research results of this subject provided within the children?s ordinary population to be compared with this thesis research results. The practical part marks out the goals and describes the own steps of the research. The aim of this work is to find out the reasons and extent of the drug abuse by the children from the social and cultural unfavourable environment. The partial aim was to compare the reasons and extent of drug abuse within these children with the data previously obtained from the ordinary children?s population in the Czech Republic. The research results present higher segment of the respondents from the social and cultural unfavourable environment related to addictives, including higher frequency of the abuse, rather younger age of the first experience with addictives, even regular abuse and experience with various types of addictives compared to regular children?s population. Thanks to the research results we can point to the fact that the reasons of using addictives by the children from the social and cultural unfavourable environment differ from the reasons of the ordinary children?s population. It consists mainly in psychological and social deprivation of those children and absence of the basic psychological needs fulfilment. Such stigma subsequently influences the predisposition to addictives abuse by the children from the social and cultural unfavourable environment, who owing to the drug may be able ?to forget? their problems at least for a while. The thesis results can be used in practice, for teaching, for further research or as the source of information for general public as well as for experts.

Symbolism in Ibn Sina's Work: Interpretation of Initiation Stories
Vitásková, Magdaléna ; Kropáček, Luboš (advisor) ; Ostřanský, Bronislav (referee) ; Pirický, Gabriel (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to interpretate the stories The Living, son of the Vigilant, The Bird and Salaman and Absal, written by one of the greatest scholars of medieval Islamic East, Ibn Sina (980-1037). Unlike his philosophical and medical writings these stories have a different character and create a coherent narrative cycle. Based on their themes, narrative methods and symbolism they should be in my opinion called initiation stories. The main aim of this dissertation is thus to verify this hypothesis by means of the hermeneutic interpretation. These stories, read as a coherent cycle, show typical features of initiation genre: the hero can't find his way, his existential condition makes him desperate, he is consumed by strong desire for reaching a higher ontological degree, meets an initiator, goes through initiation rites of passage, crosses the border between the uninitiated and initiated space, reaches the final initiation through symbolic death. The interpretation of each of Ibn Sina's three writings reveals an inner coherence of the stories: The Living, son of the Vigilant focuses on the motive of an initiator-guide and the description of the stages on the initiation way leading upwards, The Bird tells in an emotional way about the state preceding the initiation and then concentrates on...

Problem solving strategies of school children
Brázdilová, Michaela ; Provazníková, Hana (advisor)
Using a questionaire, problem solving strategies of children aged 9-12 were studied. The hypothesis that communication in the family influences efectivity and strategy of problem solving was stated and studied. Data was collected on two primary schools in Prague. Out of all the usable questionaires, there were 58 boys and 68 girls. 89 children stated, they had gone through a crisis situation in the last half a year, most of the problems were with (in this order, beginning with the most often) school achievements, friends, classmates, parents. In choosing help, children most often turned to (again in this order) mother, friends, father, wider family. 54% stated, that the sought help did help them, whereas 17% stated it did not. Even after repeated seeking of help, 15.4% of the children said, they didn't manage to solve the problem. If they would experience a crisis now, they would turn to the following people: mother, father, friends. 5It wasn't proved, that communication in then family affects problem solving. The comparison of happy and unhappy children gives some indirect results. The unhappy children turn to themselves in their problems and don't seek help. This strategy of theirs doesn't help, it doesn't lead to succesful problem solving. This supports the notion, that proximity of a close, trusted...

From machine to icon:car in popculture from the 60s
Rybář, Václav ; Bednařík, Petr (advisor) ; Jirák, Jan (referee)
An automobile is one of the most important phenomenons of modern technology. Since its origins, it has profoundly shaped our physical, economic, politic, social, cultural and media habitat. The objective of this Master thesis is to analyze the evolution of the role of the car in the popculture from the 60s onwards and its dimensions, with a primary focus on Anglosaxon culture, with excursions to Asia and continental Europe, primarily Czechoslovakia/Czech Republic. The core foundation of the thesis lies in the analysis of the popcultural genres, selected films, TV series, computer games and comic books. The main purpose of the thesis is to reflect upon the identity and conceptual shifts of car, going from a mere transport machine through a vehicle of product placement towards the concept of the icon, a narrative hero of popculture. The hypothesis to verify is that the car has become an essential part of the popculture itself, reflected in many various dimensions: car as a toy, car as a friend, car as a status symbol, car as a narrative extension of the hero and finally, car as a hero and subject. The thesis is divided into five separate chapters, all including case studies. Following an introduction summarizing cultural, economic and historic factors of the car industry, the first chapter describes...

Duty od Care of Members of Statutory Bodies in Capital Business Companies and its Relation to Internal Compliance Programs
Andreisová, Lucie ; Dědič, Jan (advisor) ; Boháček, Martin (referee) ; Lasák, Jan (referee)
The purpose of this dissertation is to provide its readers with a detailed and comprehensive look at the institute of duty of care, business judgment rule and related civil and partly also criminal liability of members of (not only) statutory bodies of capital business companies, and in this respect also to introduce an internal compliance program as one of the main instruments of good and effective corporate governance. The main objective of this dissertation is therefore to verify or refute the hypothesis whether, and if so in what particular form, can an internal compliance program be seen as an institute helping members of statutory bodies of capital business companies in fulfilling specific requirements and obligations of their duty to carry out the statutory function with due (managerial) care. The existence (implementation) of an internal compliance program is quite commonly connected with so called regulated markets and also with individual business corporations whose ownership structure extends the boundaries of the Czech Republic (typically British or American business corporations seated in the Czech Republic). But what about a wide neutral zone of Czech business corporations, i.e. especially small and medium-sized capital business companies? Shall these implement an internal compliance program as well? And, if so, on what grounds and with what benefits?
